Rostock is the largest city in the world, famous primarily for being one of the most important ports in Germany. It is located at the mouth of the Varnov River, which flows into the Baltic Sea. Once the city was a member of the famous Hanseatic League - an influential trade union of Europe in the Middle Ages. Despite the fact that the city would have been partially destroyed by the soldiers of the Second World War, significant sights of the Middle Ages are still preserved on its territory.
Schwerin - the administrative center of the land - can be described as a small and quiet town with a provincial flair. It is located in an area full of blue lakes and green forests. In the 19th century, the medieval appearance of its architecture was completely replaced by one close to modern.
Neubrandenburg is called the city of four gates due to the fact that it is surrounded by gates of different heights from all sides. The city is characterized as an industrial center, because with the high growth of industrial enterprises in the last century, population growth did not occur.
Stralsund is located on the shores of the Strelasund Strait, once it was part of the same Hanseatic League. The city is famous for its Gothic-style brick buildings and cobbled streets. Its historic center has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2002.
What to watch?
20 km from Stralsund, you can visit the Western Pomeranian Lagoons - a national park in the Baltic. In addition to the vast water surface, the land part of the park is also interesting: swamps, forests of oaks and conifers. The fauna of these places is entertaining - fallow deer, roe deer and wild boars.
Another way to take a break from the eternal bustle is in Lindenpark. Being on the territory of Rostock, he collected all the romance of linden forests. The park is also popular among the natives of the city, so every tourist, walking through the park, can get to know German life better.
Denholm Island is an important place in the history of Germany, because here in the 15th century there was a clash between Danish troops and the Hansa fleet, at the beginning of the 19th century there was a battle between Swedish and French troops. Schwerin - das Verwaltungszentrum des Landes - kann als kleine und beschauliche Stadt mit provinziellem Flair bezeichnet werden. Es liegt in einem Gebiet voller blauer Seen und grüner Wälder. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde das mittelalterliche Erscheinungsbild seiner Architektur vollständig durch eine moderne ersetzt.
Neubrandenburg wird die Stadt der vier Tore genannt, weil sie von allen Seiten von Toren unterschiedlicher Höhe umgeben ist. Die Stadt wird als Industriezentrum charakterisiert, da mit dem starken Wachstum der Industrieunternehmen im letzten Jahrhundert kein Bevölkerungswachstum eintrat.
Stralsund liegt am Ufer der Strelasundstraße und war einst Teil der gleichnamigen Hanse. Die Stadt ist berühmt für ihre Backsteingebäude im gotischen Stil und ihre gepflasterten Straßen. Sein historisches Zentrum steht seit 2002 auf der Liste des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes.
Was zu sehen?
20 km von Stralsund entfernt können Sie die Vorpommerschen Haffen - einen Nationalpark in der Ostsee - besuchen. Neben der riesigen Wasserfläche ist auch der Landteil des Parks interessant: Sümpfe, Eichen- und Nadelwälder. Die Fauna dieser Orte ist unterhaltsam - Damwild, Rehwild und Wildschweine.
Eine weitere Möglichkeit, sich vom ewigen Trubel zu erholen, bietet der Lindenpark. Auf dem Territorium von Rostock sammelte er die ganze Romantik der Lindenwälder. Der Park ist auch bei den Einheimischen der Stadt beliebt, sodass jeder Tourist, der durch den Park spaziert, das deutsche Leben besser kennenlernen kann.
Die Insel Denholm ist ein wichtiger Ort in der Geschichte Deutschlands, denn hier kam es im 15. Jahrhundert zu einem Zusammenstoß zwischen dänischen Truppen und der Hanseflotte, Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts zu einer Schlacht zwischen schwedischen und französischen Truppen. Sie können mehr über sie im Marinemuseum erfahren, wo Freilichtausstellungen zu militärischen Themen stattfinden. Außerdem befindet sich hier eine Dependance des Deutschen Schifffahrtsmuseums, die über die Geschichte der Fischerei und Erforschung der Meerestiefen erzählt.
In Schwerin wird der auffälligste Eindruck das Schloss mit mehreren Museen, einer Kirche mit bunten Buntglasfenstern und einem Sterngewölbe sein, während sein Territorium von einem grünen Park mit Skulpturen und Gewächshäusern umgeben ist, die das ganze Jahr über funktionieren.

Neubrandenburg (New Brandenburg ) is a city in the southeast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is located on the shore of a lake called Tollensesee and forms the urban centre of the Mecklenburg Lakeland.
The city is famous for its rich medieval heritage of Brick Gothic, especially the world's best preserved defensive wall of this style, and the Concert Church (Saint Mary), home venue of the Neubrandenburg Philharmony. Neubrandenburg is nicknamed for its four medieval city gates - Stadt der Vier Tore (City of Four Gates). It is part of the European Route of Brick Gothic, a route which leads through seven countries along the Baltic Sea coast.
