Lake Härtsfeld / Härtsfeldsee / Katzenstein-Neresheim / Lakes of Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Haertsfeld Lake or locally known as Härtsfeldsee is an amazingly beautiful lake with recreational facilities located in Heidenheim District, Baden-Württemberg. It is on the border of Ostalb District and Heidenheim District with Katzenstein, Dischingen and Neresheim being the closest towns near the Lake. The Lake is a actually a reservoir or a man made lake built on the River Egau to supply fresh water to the nearby areas. It was completed in 1972. The very famous Härtsfeldmuseumbahn or locally known as Schättere passes along the lake and is being rebuilt by a NGO in Neresheim. Since 1997 the lake authorities have been hosting a yearly Rock Music Festival.
The Lake is 4,2 Meters deep and has two islands that are not accessible to humans and they are mostly inhabited by the birds and animals of the Lake. The lake has plenty of fish, which can also be seen in one of the scenes of the video.

???? Bewitching Scenery
There's something undeniably artistic in the way Germany's scenery unfolds; the corrugated, dune-fringed coasts of the north; the moody forests, romantic river valleys and vast vineyards of the centre; and the off-the-charts splendour of the Alps, carved into rugged glory by glaciers and the elements. All of these are integral parts of a magical natural matrix that's bound to give your camera batteries a good workout. Get off the highway and into the great outdoors to soak up the epic landscapes that make each delicious, slow, winding mile so precious.

???? Pleasures of Civilisation
You'll encounter history in towns where streets were laid out long before Columbus set sail, and in castles that loom above prim, half-timbered villages where flower boxes billow with crimson geraniums. The great cities – including Berlin, Munich and Hamburg – come in more flavours than a jar of jelly beans but all will wow you with a cultural kaleidoscope that spans the arc from art museums and high-brow opera to naughty cabaret and underground clubs. And wherever you go, Romanesque, Gothic and baroque classics rub rafters with architectural creations from modern masters such as Daniel Libeskind, David Chipperfield and Frank Gehry.

???? Gastro Delights
Experiencing Germany through its food and drink will add a rich layer to your memories (and possibly to your belly!). You'll quickly discover that the local food is so much more than sausages and pretzels, schnitzel and roast pork accompanied by big mugs of foamy beer. Beyond the clichés awaits a cornucopia of regional and seasonal palate-teasers. Share the German people's obsession with white asparagus in springtime, chanterelle mushrooms in summer and game in autumn. Sample not only the famous beer but also world-class wines, most notably the noble Riesling.

???? High on History
Few countries have had as much impact on the world as Germany, which has given us the Hanseatic League, the Reformation and, yes, Hitler and the Holocaust, but also the printing press, the automobile, aspirin and MP3 technology. It's the birthplace of Martin Luther, Albert Einstein and Karl Marx, of Goethe, Beethoven, the Brothers Grimm and other heavyweights who have left their mark on human history. You can stand in a Roman amphitheatre, sleep in a medieval castle and walk along remnants of the Berlin Wall – in Germany the past is very much present wherever you go.

Nordlingen, Germany - Old town area (medieval) with intact wall still standing

Going back as far as 898 A.D., it is now the only walled town in Germany where the wall is still intact all the way around it - about 3 km in total length. We visited in October 2012 and spent an entire afternoon in this charming town on the Romantic Road (Romantische Straße) of Germany, located in the region of Bavaria.
Ed does the narration and most of the video filming while I do most of the still photos and then edit all of it to create this You Tube upload.

Winter in South Germany (Part - 2) 2021 / Hagbergturm / Gschwend / Ostalbkreis / Baden-Württemberg

The 2nd Part of our Winter in South-Germany Series is finally ready and up for all the great Youtube community out there.

This time I travelled high up in the mountains on a bright sunny but a very cold day in January 2021 to Hagbergturm / Hagberg-Tower, a sort of watch tower on top of the Hagberg Mountain in the Swabian Alps Mountain Range in Baden-Württemberg State of South Germany. The Tower was built in 1930's and is maintained by the German Alpine Club / Deutsche Albverein.

The Tower is open to tourist all year around and is on a popular trekking and cycling track.

SIGHTSEEING in Aalen in GERMANY

Aalen liegt im östlichen Baden-Württemberg und ist eine mittelgroße Stadt. Im Römischen Reich befand sich in Aalen ein Kastell zur Grenzsicherung. We do sightseeing in the city of Aalen in the east of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. In former times it was at the border of the Roman Empire called the Limes.

Baldern Castle / Schloss Baldern / Most beautiful baroque Castle in South Germany / Dream Castles

Baldern Castle or locally well known as Schloss Baldern is one of the best examples of beautifully maintained baroque castle in South Germany. It was built almost around a millennia ago and has been expanded several times to its present glory.
Schloss Bladern is located in Ostalb district of Baden-Württemberg near the village with the same name. Closest airports are Stuttgart, Memingen and Munich. The Castle is open in summers and it recently opened for the tourists on the 11th of July, 2020. So the castle is welcoming guests once again and after the Corona Pandemic.
This castle also has one of the most beautiful gardens there are to be seen in the south part of Germany. They are carefully curated by experts and are very well maintained. The castle belongs to the Prince and the Princess of Wallerstein-Oettingen near Balderm.
The Castle also offer amazing and very informative guided tours of the campus including the biggest privately owned weapons museum in Germany and the Wallerstein Gardens.
All in all it's a must visit, when you are visiting this part of Europe as they offer a full family package for a day out. Enjoy the video.

Castle Ruins of Rosenstein / Burgruine Rosenstein / Heubach / Cinematic Video of South Germany in 4k

Castle Ruins of Rosenstein or locally known as Burgruine Rosenstein are remains of a medieval castle that had existed at this place in Schwäbische Alb or Swabian Alps mountain range in the middle ages and guarded the nearby villages and town. Heubach city is located just at the foot of these beautiful castle ruins. This has become a popular destination for the people of nearby towns of Aalen, Ellwangen, Heubach, Schwäbisch Gmund for hiking and rock climbing. Due to the steep slope next to the intact castle wall there is a official rock climbing area where people practice their skills before going on to tougher endeavours. It is extremely well connected by national highway number 19 and the access is from Heubach.

Winter in South Germany (Part - 1) 2020 / Swabian Alps Ski-Region /Aalen / Ostalbkreis

This video is a Montage of one of the most beautiful aerial shots that i captures this winter. Germany has seen really good winter this year and especially South-Germany has received a lot of snow. I consider myself very lucky, who live at the foothills of the Swabian mountain range in South-Germany and there is also a Ski-Region with Ski-Lift and Ski-Resort where one can learn how to ski and also enjoy the advanced skiing ⛷ experience. I hope you will like this video and thank you for your valuable time.

NERESHEIM to NÖRDLINGEN - ???????? Germany ????????

Neresheim is a town in the Ostalbkreis district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 16 kilometres northeast of Heidenheim, and 20 kilometres southeast of Aalen. It's the home of the Neresheim Abbey, which still hosts monks, was Reichsfrei until the German Mediatisation and was built by Balthasar Neumann.

Nördlingen is a town in Bavaria, Germany. Its old town is encircled by well-preserved medieval walls with towers and covered parapet paths. The city center is anchored by the massive Gothic St. George’s Church. Its tower, called the Daniel, has views across town. The Rathaus (town hall), with its gabled roof and towers, is one of several medieval buildings, some half-timbered, on the main square.

St Mary's Church (Part -2) / St. Marie Kirche / Hohenrechberg Mountain / South Germany in 4K UHD

The St. Mary's Church or Wallfahrtkirche on top of the Hohenrechberg Mountains is one of the most important structures along with the Fort Hohenrechberg in the Ostalb District of Baden-Württemberg, South-Germany. It is a true favourite among the locals and a very famous spot for pilgrimage. The original church at the same spot was built in the late 12th century A.D., which later got destroyed by an accidental fire due to thunderstorm.
In 1688 A.D. a new church was built in baroque style in its stead. The tower of the church is seven storeyed and the church can be seen from far away. The VLOG shows beautiful views from above and some views from near the church. The church is located on the flattened top of the Hohenrechberg Mountain. I would love to hear from you, your thoughts, feelings about the VLOG can be shared in the comments section below.
