Is this the BLUEST WATER on Earth?! | Minas Viejas and El Meco | Huasteca Potosina, Mexico

Hey guys! Is this the bluest water on Earth?! We explore Minas Viejas and El Meco Ecoparks in the Huasteca Potosina, Mexico to find out!

Our trip through the Huasteca has been filled with bluer than blue waters and stunning waterfalls but our trip to Minas Viejas and El Meco in this video really took it to another level! We have never seen bluer and more paradisaical looking water than we saw on this trip! If you think we have edited the water to look that way you'd be wrong...it really was as blue as it looks!

It is a place we will never forget and we're not sure we'll ever find water that color anywhere again! Enjoy! :)

23k yr old foot prints and 13 more Native American Ruin Sites in New Mexico and the 4 Corners.

Another in depth travel and information guide. In this one we trace the progress of the first Native Americans starting 23,000 years ago with Human Foot Prints next to Mastodons! We then see early pit houses and 21,000 rock carvings. We visit a lava field where tools could be made before heading to Chaco Canyon- center of power from 800-1250, and its magnificent multi-story stone buildings with up to 600 rooms. We'll learn why they were made based on PhD Steve Lekson's research-- hint they are palaces! After Chaco's decline the site in Aztec New Mexico became the power center. There we enter their superbly reconstructed great Kiva- the best in the southwest!

Then we see the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde National Park and Bandelier which were occupied till about 1300.
Then, we go to Acama Pueblo which is the oldest continually occupied settlement in the US. I meet a native wearing his prized Washington Redskins cap. In the Four Corners we visit Hovenweep in Utah- to see the finest stone work of the age. Then, we head south to Arizona and Canyon de Chelly for hike to Whitehouse Ruin. Around 1300 many 4 Corner sites were abandoned.
Perhaps its not a coincidence the population near the Rio Grande grew. Near Albuquerque, we explore an adobe settlement visited, and possibly sacked, by Coronado in 1540. In 1621 the Spanish forced the Pueblo people to build a church at Jemez- its still in fine shape. The Spanish began an unhappy chapter, but things got worse after 1848 when the area was ceded to the USA. in 1851 the US built a Fort along an old trade route called the Santa Fe Trail. It seems a fitting place to end our Road trip.

INGREDIENTS FOR A GOOD LIFE - La Media Luna & El Naranjo - Travel Mexico with Amanda Martinez

Canadian singer and songwriter AMANDA MARTINEZ joins forces with her filmmaker cousin ANDREA MARTÍNEZ CROWTHER to make this series which explores the sights, sounds and flavours of Mexico. In this chapter, Amanda visits La Media Luna and El Naranjo in the central state of San Luis Potosi.

CASCADA EL SALTO | MIRADOR EL SALTO DEL MECO | Huasteca Potosina | Naranjo

We have been looking forward to visiting La Huasteca Potosina for as long as we’ve been planning Mexico. So the excitement has been real and it was such a great feeling to know that our first stop exceeded our expectations!! On day one we visited Cascada El Salto in El Naranjo, San Luis Potosí. Jumping into pools of turquoise waters in such a natural and unaltered environment was a great start to our La Huasteca journey.

We then check into our Airbnb in El Naranjo. We chose to stay in El Naranjo because of it’s close proximity to Cascada El Salto and would recommend it if you’re planning to start in the north. It will eliminate driving the 2 hours to Ciudad Valles. We then wrap up the area with El Salto del Meco, also known as the Mirador, the viewpoint. And boy is it pretty!

So, in part one we cover Cascada El Salto and Cascada El Salto del Meco. We plan to visit 5 more stops in this northern region so you can check out the route we mapped below.

Stay tuned for part 2. Coming tomorrow!

The Airbnb we stayed at was good, we think we just flipped the breaker with all of our electronics plugged in. If you want to book it, it's linked below.
