Australia’s Electric Tilt Train | Brisbane to Rockhampton in Business Class
Find out what it's like to travel 640km by train between Brisbane and the Rockhampton in central Queensland on the electric Tilt Train.
In this video you'll get to take a look inside both the business and economy class seats; discover the food and drink options; and get to see some of the beautiful scenery along the way.
The Tilt Train helps connect some of Queensland's most iconic tourist destinations with links to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, the Capricorn Coast, Bundaberg, Burnett, the Fraser Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
The Tilt Train set an Australian speed record of 210km/h during a trial run in 1999. It's top service speed is 160km/h - equivalent to the Transwa Prospector, V/Line VLocity railcars and NSW CountryLink XPTs.
The electric Tilt Train is operated by Queensland Rail.

Brisbane Roma Street Train Station in September 2023 (QR Queensland Rail, Australia)
Originally opened in June 1875, Brisbane Roma Street is nestled at the foot of the Spring Hills district of the city, right on the edge of the Brisbane CBD. To the east of the station, multiple tunnels house the lines towards Brisbane Central. The western end station is an important junction, with lines diverging right towards the Exhibition loop and Showgrounds, whilst the the lines to the left head towards Ipswich with a further junction carrying the line over the Merivale Bridge towards South Bank. The shots in this video were filmed during September 2023, during the construction of the new Cross River Rail link. This major infrastructure project has already changed the area around Roma Street with the Transit Centre, opened in 1986, being demolished in 2020 to make way for the development. And, over the next few years, several new buildings are set to once again change the vista. Östlich des Bahnhofs beherbergen mehrere Tunnel die Linien in Richtung Brisbane Central. Der westliche Endbahnhof ist ein wichtiger Knotenpunkt, an dem die Linien nach rechts in Richtung Exhibition Loop und Showgrounds abzweigen, während die Linien nach links in Richtung Ipswich fahren und an einem weiteren Knotenpunkt die Linie über die Merivale Bridge in Richtung South Bank führt. Die Aufnahmen in diesem Video wurden im September 2023 während des Baus der neuen Cross River Rail-Verbindung gedreht. Dieses große Infrastrukturprojekt hat das Gebiet rund um die Roma Street bereits verändert, da das 1986 eröffnete Transit Centre im Jahr 2020 abgerissen wurde, um Platz für die Bebauung zu schaffen. Reaching long stretch Bruce Highway was a relief knowing we're close to

Colloquially known as Surfers, the suburb has many high-rise apartment buildings and a wide surf beach. The feature of the heart of the suburb is Cavill Mall, which runs through the shopping and entertainment precinct. Cavill Avenue, named after Jim Cavill, an early hotel owner, is one of the busiest shopping strips in Queensland, and the centre of activity for nightlife. One of the features of the area is the Surfers Paradise Meter Maids designed to build goodwill with tourists.
Surfers Paradise is the Gold Coast's entertainment and tourism centre and the suburb's high-rise buildings are the best-known feature of the city's skyline.
