This video is the story of our travel to Nahavand, and we introduce the attractions and history of them in this video.
Nahavand (Persian: نهاوند, romanized: Nahāvand / Nehāvend) is a city in Hamadan Province, Iran. It is the capital of Nahavand County. At the time of the 2006 census, its population was 72,218, in 19,419 families. It is located south of the city of Hamadan, west of Malayer and northwest of Borujerd. Inhabited continuously since prehistoric times, Nahavand was bestowed upon the House of Karen in the Sasanian period. During the Muslim conquest of Persia, it was the site of the famous Battle of Nahavand.
Nahavand is situated in the west of Iran, in the northern part of the Zagros region. It lies c. 90 kilometers south of Hamadan, from which it is separated by the massif of the Alvand subrange. This massif grants Nahavand and its hinterlands an abundant water supply. Historically, Nahavand was located on a route that led from central Iraq through Kermanshah to northern Iran, and was therefore often crossed by armies. Another historic road, coming from Kermanshah, leads towards Isfahan in central Iran and avoids the Alvand massif. Nahavand also lies on the branch of the Gamasab river which comes from the southeast from the vicinity of Borujerd; from Nahavand the Gamasab river flows westwards to Mount Behistun. Given Nahavand's location, it was the site of several battles, and was considered important in Iranian history during Iran's wars with its western neighbors.

Kerman was founded as a defensive outpost, with the name Veh-Ardashir, by Ardashir I, founder of the Sasanian Empire, in the 3rd century AD.] After the Battle of Nahāvand in 642, the city came under Muslim rule. At first the city's relative isolation allowed Kharijites and Zoroastrians to thrive there, but the Kharijites were wiped out in 698, and the population was mostly Muslim by 725. Already in the eighth century the city was famous for its manufacture of cashmere wool shawls and other textiles. The Abbasid Caliphate's authority over the region was weak, and power passed in the tenth century to the Buyid dynasty. The region and city fell to Mahmud of Ghazni in the late tenth century. The name Kerman was adopted at some point in the tenth century.

Persepolis – the ruins of the ancient capital of the Persian Empire, in Iran
In this video I made a short presentation of Persepolis, the ancient capital of the Persian Achaemenid Empire, located in Iran. It was built during the reign of Darius the Great, Xerxes I and Artaxerxes I. While the city is now in ruins, you can still admire the colossal buildings covered in relief sculptures of bulls, lions, mythical creatures, with enormous columns, and grand marble staircases. Today we can see here the ruins of the Apadana Hall, the Gate of All Nations, the Tachara Palace, the Hadish Palace, and many more.

Oudlajan Bazaar is a local bazaar that you can find various kinds of traditional Iranian handicrafts there. In this bazaar there is lots of stores selling items very suitable as an Iranian souvenir for yourself or others. The items you can find in Tehran Grand Bazaar includes whatever you can imagine :) For example: Iran carpets, beautiful rugs, Persian accessories, clothes, cosmetics & other various things for wholesale.
We ordered two items for lunch there. A chicken & rice for my friend & a sliced almonds stew with rice for me. The quality & price both were satisfying.

Ashura -the biggest holiday in IRAN (Persia)
Ashura, an optional fast day for Muslims that commemorates different things for Sunnis and Shiites, falls on Nov. 13-14, 2013. The word itself, ashura, means 10, and the holiday is the 10th day of the Islamic month of Muharram. The Islamic calendar is lunar, so the date of Ashura can vary depending on sighting of the moon.
Ashura marks many things: the creation of the world, Noah's departure from the ark, Moses' flight from Egypt and the martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Hussein ibn Ali, in 680 A.D.
