Baguio City Naguilian Road to City Hall 4K Walk

Another day, another Baguio City virtual walk. Today, we pass a route that is very familiar to us and a lot of residents who live within barangays Irisan, Quezon Hill, Victoria Village, San Luis, and Dominican.

Pre-pandemic, this is a route usually taken by students and workers when it's rush hour, the streets get busy, and all public transportation is full. What's best about the city is that it is a walkable city, and sometimes, the best solution would be to crack some bones and get a-walkin'.

Hope you will enjoy this ASMR Baguio City 2022 walk with us.

NIGHT TRIP BAGUIO CITY TO LOWLAND(LA UNION)via NAGUILIAN RD @MarielouBaldolim

President Elpidio Quirino Highway, formerly known and still referred to as Naguilian Road and Baguio–Bauang Road, is a Philippine major highway in northern Luzon that runs from the city of Baguio in the province of Benguet to the municipality of Bauang in the province of La Union. Wikipedia

4k Scenic Drive | Baguio City | Philippines | Naguilian Road Uphill

The Naguilian Road, officially the Quirino Highway and also known as the Baguio–Bauang Road, is a Philippine major highway in northern Luzon that runs from the city of Baguio in the province of Benguet to the municipality of Bauang in the province of La Union.

The 39.114-kilometer (24.304 mi) highway traverses the Benguet municipalities of Tuba and Sablan, and the La Union towns of Burgos, Naguilian, and Bauang.

The highway serves as a major access route to Baguio. It is primarily used by motorists coming from the port city of San Fernando as well as the northern provinces of the Ilocos Region to get to the city.

Although Quirino Highway is the official name of the road, most people are more used to calling it by its former name. It is also a component of National Route 54 (N54) of the Philippine highway network, where Kennon Road also belongs.

Pinoy Joyride - Naguilian Road Joyride (Bauang to Baguio) 2014

From Bauang La Union going up to Baguio via the Naguilian Road. The road is not well maintained, there are some parts that has poor road conditions and a bridge that needs repair. Naguilian Road is one the roads that connects to Baguio City. Also, it was said to be one of the oldest, more older than Kennon Road. This route is also one of the most traversed roads if you are coming from La Union Area / Ilocos.
Our trip ends at Dominican Hill as my passengers are going to the Grotto. There was a fog near Tuba area. Fantastic! Fog's always give me that special feeling

Road Condition - paved roads
Drive thrill - Some parts have narrow curves. Average drive.
Security - there are many houses and small towns along the road
Rating: 3/5

Uncovering the Serenity of La Union: Balili/Naguilian River and Bauang Grape-picking!

#Naguilian is a sprawling farming town in La Union while #Bauang is a coastal municipality that offers grape-picking adventures among its many grape farms. This video gives a very small preview, merely a snapshot, of serene moments one can enjoy in La Union--and we haven't even done the things that La Union is more known for, like surfing, swimming or food tripping. Come to think of it, we will likely try to find those more quiet, unexplored nooks and crannies of La Union. Arriba! Please look forward to more La Union features because we've already got a couple of them lined up in editing!

????️ BALILI RIVER ROCK FORMATION | BARAOAS ROCK FORMATION OF BALILI RIVER IN NAGUILIAN, LA UNION

BARAOAS ROCK FORMATION OF BALILI RIVER IN NAGUILIAN, LA UNION | NAGUILIAN, LA UNION TOURIST SPOT

Taking in the View: Driving Down Scenic Naguilian Road

Are you ready for the second part of our Kennon and Naguilian road day trip? Buckle up as we take a thrilling journey along Naguilian Road, a picturesque scenic route that stretches from Baguio City to La Union. This 40-kilometer long stretch of road is not for the faint-hearted, boasting a challenging terrain with steep hills and sharp curves that will take your breath away.

First, let's talk about safety. Naguilian Road is a challenging road to drive on, so it's crucial to take precautions to ensure your safety. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind:

Fasten your seatbelts,
drive at a moderate speed
Avoid driving at night, as the road can be quite dark
Be mindful of other vehicles on the road, keeping an eye out for other vehicles, especially on blind curves.
Take breaks if you feel tired
Also, watch out for pedestrians and animals crossing the road.

Now that we've covered the basics, let's hit the road!

As we leave Baguio City, we'll make our way south towards the municipality of Sablan. The first part of our journey will be spent winding through the mountains, as we take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. You'll see verdant forests, rolling hills, and majestic mountains, as we breathe in the fresh mountain air.

From Sablan, we'll continue on to Naguilian Road. This historic road was built by the Americans in the early 1900s, and it served as an important transportation link between Baguio City and the lowlands. Today, the road has been widened and improved, but it still retains its charm and character.

Let's take a closer look at what Naguilian Road has to offer. It's part of the Philippine National Road and has several junctions that lead to different towns and cities in the region.
We'll pass through Tuba, Pugo, and Bauang, each with its unique attractions that will make your road trip unforgettable.

I know that timing is everything when it comes to driving along Naguilian Road. The road can be treacherous during the rainy season, so it's best to avoid it during that time. The best time to drive is from November to February, when the weather is cooler and less humid. During these months, you'll have a better chance of witnessing the famous sea of clouds, a stunning natural phenomenon that occurs in the early morning.

Naguilian Road is also famous for its strawberry farms and vegetable gardens. The farmers here take pride in their produce, and you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables directly from them. Don't miss out on the famous strawberry taho, a delightful dessert made with tofu, syrup, and fresh strawberries.

You'll notice that the landscape changes from towering mountains to picturesque valleys and fields. The view is simply breathtaking, and you'll want to stop every few minutes to take in the beauty of the scenery.

As we get swept away by the majesty of the Cordillera Mountains, we'll pass through more towns and villages, each with their own unique character. We'll see historic churches, traditional houses, and bustling markets. You'll get a taste of the local culture and way of life, as we travel through this picturesque part of the Philippines.

We'll pass through the town of Naguilian, which is famous for its pottery industry. Here, you can visit local shops and see how the traditional pottery is made. It's a great way to cap off our trip and bring home some souvenirs for your loved ones.

Finally, as we near the end of our journey, let's take a moment to appreciate the nostalgia of Naguilian Road. This road has been around for decades, and it has seen many changes throughout the years. Despite that, it has remained a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. As we drive along this historic road, let's appreciate the memories that it holds and the stories that it has to tell.

I hope you'll enjoy your journey along Naguilian Road as much as I do. This route holds a special place in my heart, as it reminds me of my childhood adventures with my family. It's a journey that's filled with adventure, beauty, and memories that will last a lifetime.

In conclusion, Naguilian Road is a fantastic destination that offers breathtaking views, relaxing drive, and a glimpse into local agriculture. With proper timing and safety measures, you're guaranteed to have an unforgettable road trip.
