Naxos is the larges of the Cyclades islands in the group in the Aegean. This Mediterranean island is surrounded by beautiful beaches and iconic Greek Cyclades architecture(white houses and unique villages from this video) beautiful white sandy beaches, which are different to beaches in the other islands of the Cyclades, this is due to their characteristic length. The beach of Plaka is the longest of these on the island.

Naxos (Νάξος) is a Greek island and the largest of the Cyclades. It was the centre of archaic Cycladic culture. The island is famous as a source of emery, a rock rich in corundum, which until modern times was one of the best abrasives available.
Naxos is a popular tourist destination, with several ruins. It has a number of beaches, such as those at Agia Anna, Agios Prokopios, Alikos, Kastraki, Mikri Vigla, Plaka, and Agios Georgios, most of them near Chora. As other cycladic islands, Naxos is considered a windy place perfect for windsurfing, as well as kitesurfing. There are seven sports clubs in the island that offer both of these sports and other water activities.
The largest town and capital of the island is Chora or Naxos City, with 7,374 inhabitants (2011 census). The main villages are Filoti, Apiranthos, Vivlos, Agios Arsenios, Koronos and Glynado.
Naxos experiences a Mediterranean climate, with relatively mild winters and warm summers. The Köppen Climate Classification subtype for this climate is Csa. (Mediterranean Climate). Inland areas of the island are much wetter and cooler in winter.

Uma Ilha Grega completamente diferente de muitas que você conhece: Ilha de Naxos! A Grécia tem umas 6 regiões de ilhas (Mykonos, Santorini, Naxos, entre outras), e nesse vídeo eu vou te mostrar restaurantes, bares, preços e o hotel que eu me hospedei na Ilha de Naxos.
Saindo do JMK, Aeroporto de Mykonos, pegamos um ônibus para a balsa (bem apertada, inclusive - fomos de Hellenic Seaways). Só uma observação para você saber: existem outras empresas de balsa com rotas diferentes, é como se fossem companhias aéreas fazendo seus trechos, e você escolhe a que quiser, compara os preços e etc.
Viajantes, chegamos na Ilha de Naxos para nos hospedar no hotel ELaiolithos Luxury Retreat que fica localizado bem no centro. E já fomos para um restaurante com comida típica jantar, né? Inclusive provamos o churrasquinho grego original.
Por incrível que pareça eu fui fazer pilates antes de me aventurar por essa ilha maravilhosa - sim Estevito também faz exercício em viagem (às vezes acontece né - mas foi uma ótima experiência). The Cyclades are a Greek island group in the Aegean Sea, south-east of the mainland of Greece; and an administrative prefecture of Greece. They are one of the island groups which constitute the Aegean archipelago. The name refers to the islands around (κυκλάς) the sacred island of Delos. The Cyclades is where the native Greek breed of cat (the Aegean cat) first came from.
The Cyclades comprise about 220 islands, the major ones being Amorgós, Anáfē, Ándros, Antíparos, Dēlos, Eschátē, Íos, Kéa, Kímōlos, Kýthnos, Mēlos, Mýkonos, Náxos, Páros, Folégandros, Sérifos, Sífnos, Síkinos, Sýros, Tēnos, and Thēra or Santoríni. Most of the smaller islands are uninhabited.
Ermoupolis, on Syros, is the chief town and administrative center of the prefecture.
The islands are peaks of a submerged mountainous terrain, with the exception of two volcanic islands, Milos and Santorini (Thera). The climate is generally dry and mild, but with the exception of Naxos the soil is not very fertile: agricultural produce includes wine, fruit, wheat, olive oil, and tobacco. Cooler temperatures are in higher elevations and mainly do not receive wintry weather. In transportation, the Cyclades is the only prefecture in Greece that is not linked with a state-maintained highway or a highway number. All of the roads in the island complex are secondary or provincial.

Cyclades Islands in 4K, part 13 - Naxos Interior (Damalas, Chalki, Apeiranthos), Plaka beach, Greece
Poznaliśmy już stolicę wyspy Naxos czyli Naxos Chorę. Ponieważ Naksos to największa wyspa w archipelagu Cyklad, więc warto zapoznać się także z jej wnętrzem. Wyspa ma zróżnicowane ukształtowanie: wschodnie wybrzeże Náxos jest strome, zachodnie płaskie. W kierunku pn. – pd. przebiega przez nią granitowy łańcuch górski z najwyższym szczytem Oxia 1001 m. Naxos słynna jest ze złóż marmuru, eksploatowanych już w III tysiącleciu p.n.e. Naxos zwana jest zieloną wyspą, gdyż z uwagi na klimat śródziemnomorski uprawia się tu zboża, winną latorośl, cytrusy i oliwki. Ludność skupia się głównie w uroczych wioskach, które urbanistycznie bardziej przypominają miasteczka, ze względu na zwartą zabudowę. Pierwszą odwiedzaną przez nas wioską jest Damalas słynącą z niezwykle ciekawych wyrobów ceramicznych. Tutaj w rodzinnej pracowni, o wielopokoleniowej tradycji, mamy okazję zapoznać się z procesem wyrobu typowych dla Naxos dzbanków na wino oraz poznać bliżej jak działa kubek sprawiedliwości Pitagorasa. Chodziło o to, aby napełniać kubek winem tylko do odpowiedniej wysokości. Jeżeli ktoś w swej zachłanności nie przestrzegał tej zasady i nalał sobie więcej, to kubek samoczynnie na zasadzie syfonu opróżniał się z całej zawartości. Mamy też możliwość zapoznać się z tradycyjną metodą wyciskania oliwy z oliwek oraz jej filtrowania na specjalnych prasach z wkładami włóknistymi. Natomiast w wiosce Chalki (taka transkrypcja pisowni greckiej jest zastosowana na mapie wyspy, ale np. hotel nazywa się Halki), która była dawną stolicą wyspy, odwiedzamy wytwórnię kitronu czyli likieru produkowanego z liści drzewa owocowego o nazwie właśnie kitron. Wytwórnia została założona w 1896 r. i do dziś zachowana została dawna aparatura do destylacji trunku. Kitron produkuje się o czterech smakach i oczywiście była możliwość degustacji każdego kitronu a także jego zakupu. Odwiedzamy też górską, pięknie położoną, miejscowość Apeiranthos. Tu poznajemy miejscowy minerał szmergiel czyli twardą skałę stosowaną jako materiał ścierny. Stąd wywodzi się (używana także u nas przez starsze pokolenie) nazwa szmergiel dla papieru lub płótna powleczonego drobnymi ziarnami materiału ściernego. Mamy też okazję zapoznać się z drewnianym drzwiowym mechanizmem zamkowym stosowanym powszechnie tutaj w dawnych czasach. Na wyspie od roku 1207 było centrum weneckiego księstwa Naxos. Wenecjanie zbudowali tu wiele wież obserwacyjnych, które jednak nie są udostępniane turystom. Szkoda, bo w oglądanych wioskach, ze względu na zwartą zabudowę, brakuje punktów widokowych na większy obszar otoczenia. Te liczne weneckie wieże jednak nie zapobiegły ostatecznej zwycięskiej inwazji Turków w 1566 r. Na koniec wycieczki udajemy się na słynną Plakę, która na przestrzeni wielu kilometrów oferuje szerokie piaszczyste plaże.
