One of the great journeys in Europe is Italy by Train. With today’s high-speed trains, it is a quick and easy way to see Italy’s great cities, museums, masterpieces, and the amazing Italian countryside.
In this itinerary we’ll start in Milan, with day trips to Venice and Bellagio. Then off to Florence with a half day in Pisa. Then south, to the Positano on the Amalfi Coast for some beach time and relaxing in the sun, with a day trip to the Island of Capri. Circling back, we’ll head to Rome and then back to Milan to complete the route.

Top 10 AUTUMN Switzerland 2023 – Highlights in October November - Best Things to Do in Fall Season
Autumn is the season of colors. It’s the time when the green leaves start to turn yellow, orange and red before they eventually fall. This happens during October and November in Switzerland. The Top 10 Places to be visited in Switzerland during Autumn are different kind of places that people would see during Summer. The Blausee is an amazing blue lake with a striking color, surrounded by a beautiful forest that adds the many colors during Fall season. The Blausee is notably less busy during Autumn. The lake is even beautiful to be visited during rainy days. Les Brenets is located in the Canton of Neuchâtel. It’s a great place for budget travelers as there will be little tourists and most of the attractions are included in your tourist ticket should you stay overnight in this canton. The Lac des Brenets separates Switzerland from France. The forest around the lake looks very old and shows beautiful colors during Autumn. At some days it might be rainy and then a visit to the Salt mine of Bex is very much worth it. Make sure to prebook your visit, otherwise you have no place on the train that takes you to the interior of the mine. It’s very interesting to learn about the mine and its history. The Valle di Muggio is a hidden gem in the Canton of Ticino in Switzerland. There are many beautiful small villages and a mill down at Bruzzella at where people produce corn flower. The Valle Verzasca is very famous for swimming but also worth to be visited during the colorful Autumn season. You can do the usual things by going to the villages of Lavertezzo and Sonogno. The lake of Palpuogna is a hidden gem in the canton of Graubünden. The lake is surrounded by larches that turn golden during October. The lake is even nice to be visited during snow fall in Autumn. Romainmôtier is a village in the Jura Vaudois and is considered one of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland. Romainmôtier hosts a yearly festival called Les Sonailles at where traditionally Swiss cow bells are being sold. The festival is accompanied by music and performances. Nearby is the Cascade du Dard and the Tine de Conflens that are very beautiful and serene during late October and early November. Fafleralp is a lone place in the Swiss Alps at the upper end of the Lötschental. It’s full of golden larches and perfect to go for an easy hike to the Grundsee. Also do explore the village of Blatten that is very much worth it. The Lavaux, the Swiss Wine Terraces are located at the northern shore of Lake Geneva and are considered one of the best locations for seeing the Autumn colors. During late October, the leaves turn yellow and if you are even lucky, you may witness a fantastic sunset. It’s beautiful to go for hiking at the golden vineyards at the villages of Epesses and Rivaz. The Lake of Saoseo is again considered the most beautiful place to be visited during Autumn Season. This lake is incomparable. The striking blue color, the green spruces, golden larches and snow mountains just nicely blend together. You will have to hike up to Lago di Saoseo or else reserve a public bus online. Timings are at 10 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Driving up is strictly forbidden. So many great places to be seen in Switzerland during Fall season, probably better and less crowded than during Summer.

Some people often say that NOVEMBER is the “WORST TIME” to travel. But is that really true??? What does November have to offer and what are its down sides? These aspects will be covered in this video. November is a very interesting month, just because everybody does not think so! November is very colorful during the beginning. There will be many colors of Autumn, all the leaves are golden, orange, yellow and red! November is also quite foggy, meaning the weather is not always best and at times it will rain. But during November, you may also have snow fall and enjoy early Christmas vibes. Very nice is the combination of the Autumn colors with snow. November is not good for hiking but still you should visit the Swiss Alps. Go up to some peaks and enjoy the sea of clouds. Up on the peaks, the view is brilliant, while down in the valley, there will be cloudy weather. November in Switzerland is also a month of culture. You may visit the Lantern Festival in Early November called Räbäliechtli, visit the Herbstmesse in Basel and some markets like Martinimarkt in Schaffhausen or Zibälämärit in Bern. In late November, some Christmas markets will already open up! Great chance to experience early Christmas vibes here in Switzerland. Benefit also from season break, it's low season here in Switzerland. Many hotels will offer cheaper prices and you may travel around Switzerland on a budget. HOWEVER: This comes at a cost: Many hotels and restaurants will be closed! Book early to be sure to have a place to dine and stay. Some attractions will be closed too. On the other hand: You may benefit from some ski resorts already starting their Winter season! Surely, November is a very interesting Month! MUCH BETTER than many people think!

Hiking in the Muggio valley
A relatively unknown valley in Switzerland, is the Muggio valley in the canton Ticino, which is by the way the most southern valley here in Switzerland. I've heard some good stuff about this place. So after 2 months of working I found a weekend I could explore it together with Sara and to spend the night on a beautiful mountain slope view a gorgeous view in a tent. Like in the good old days!

Walking around a Sleepy Mountain Village | Morning Trip to Muggio, Switzerland
In this video we'll be going on a summer morning trip to Muggio, a quiet mountain village in southern Switzerland.
Located deep inside the Muggio valley and with mountains surrounding it on all sides, this is an amazing place for a walk! (Well, the entire valley is, but we'll get there eventually too!)
The main attraction of the area is mount Generoso ('Monte Generoso' in italian), one of the most well known mountains of the entire region. Muggio is located on the lower slopes of said mount, making it a very scenic location.

Bruzella's windmill is a marvelous fragment of Mendrisiotto's history.
During the summer months you can stop here to buy some local products, made with the flour produced by the slow rotation of its wheel.
From here, you can walk into the woods to visit the small towns of Muggio's valley. Our 8,5 km journey started in Bruzella and we got back on the other side of the valley, after reaching the town of Muggio.
The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Mini in 2.7k definition and a GoPro Hero 7 Black in 4k definition.

Big Bench: la Panchina Gigante #223 all'Alpe Giumello
Oggi vi portiamo all'Alpe del Giumello, località situata sul monte Muggio, nel comune di Casargo in provincia di Lecco.
Siamo qui alla ricerca di qualcosa che si trova su questa montagna. Lasciando la macchina al parcheggio e proseguendo per un panoramico sentiero, passando per L’ alpe Chiaro si raggiunge un panorama mozzafiato, un vero balcone naturale sulle Alpi, che si apre sul lago di Como.
Ed ecco qui che troviamo la panchina gigante.

A Very Colorful Mountain Hamlet | Morning Trip to Casima, Switzerland
In this video we'll be going on an early fall morning trip to Casima, a small but enchanting mountain hamlet in southern Switzerland.
Located in the Muggio valley and completely surrounded by steep mountains on all sides, I consider this place a bit of a hidden gem! There really isn't much on the internet about it, even in italian!
There are several colorful houses and buildings here, with shades of bright yellow and orange being a stark contrast to the greenery that envelopes the area.
A small but elegant church can also be seen, with a white and light pink color scheme that really fits the vibe of the hamlet!
