Perth is the capital city of Western Australia. Perth sprawls along a flat coastal plain, centred along the Swan River and bounded by the Darling Scarp to the east and the Indian Ocean coastline in the west. Despite its isolation and relatively small population, Perth is a surprisingly culturally diverse city. Due to the high rate of migration to Perth, slightly less than half of Perth's residents were born outside Australia. Its proximity to Southeast Asia and Africa has led to an influx of migrants from countries such as Malaysia, South Africa and Thailand, and this is reflected in the diversity of cuisine available in Perth. If you wish to experience a cosmopolitan culture without the hustle and bustle of larger cities then Perth is worth visiting.
The City has a temperate Mediterranean type climate. Summers are hot and dry whilst winters are generally wet and mild. Summer temperatures average 30°C/86°F between November and April. Maximum temperatures during the height of summer can reach and sometimes exceed the 40°C/104°F mark. Very hot days tend to have very low humidity making conditions more bearable.
The Perth metropolitan area has a fairly reliable and inexpensive public transport system operated by Transperth. Information about timetables, fares, disruptions or service alterations can be found on their website. The frequency of public transport decreases remarkably on weekends, and on weekdays in the evenings after 7 or 8pm. Always plan your journey before you travel. Travelling to the tourist attractions within Perth, Fremantle, Cottesloe, Scarborough is easy by public transport, but outside of that a car is significantly better.
The central business district of Perth is bounded by the Swan River to the south and east, with Kings Park on the western end, while the railway reserve formed a northern border. A state and federally funded project named Perth City Link sunk a section of the railway line, to allow easy pedestrian access between Northbridge and the CBD. The Perth Arena is a building in the city link area that has received several architecture awards from various institutions such as the Design Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Architecture, and Colorbond. St Georges Terrace is the prominent street of the area with 1.3 million m2 of office space in the CBD. Hay Street and Murray Street have most of the retail and entertainment facilities. The tallest building in the city is Central Park, which is the eighth tallest building in Australia. The CBD until 2012 was the centre of a mining-induced boom, with several commercial and residential projects being built, including Brookfield Place, a 244 m office building for Anglo-Australian mining company BHP Billiton.

Stirling Gardens | Near Perth CBD - Australia [4K]
Stirling Gardens is a small public park in Perth, Western Australia. Located on the corner of St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street, west of the Government House and north of the Supreme Court buildings, it contains a group of significant sculpture items.
Thanks to its kangaroo statues, also one of the most recognisable and most photographed.
The kangaroo sculptures, a water feature, a huge Moreton Bay Fig tree and fabled May Gibbs’ creations Snugglepot and Cuddlepie are some of the more interesting aspects of this parkland.Many events are held in the gardens throughout the year including an ANZAC Day service, Opera in the Park and Carols by Candlelight.
It is also a quiet space for reflection amongst the hustle and bustle of the CBD.
