WALKING THE STREETS OF REYKJAVIK, ICELAND! (4K)
Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland and about 60% of Iceland's entire population lives in the Greater Reykjavik area. It's a small city and very easy to get around by walking. One of the things that makes Reykjavik unique is that there is some very cool street art on the buildings and on the streets. We were there in summertime and spent a lot of time walking on Reykjavik's main street, Laugavegur. We also visited the unmistakable Hallgrímskirkja Church, which is one of Iceland's tallest structures, which is why you can get the best views of Reykjavik from the observation deck. We ate lunch at the most famous hot dog stand in all of Iceland, Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur, which was once picked as the best hot dog stand in all of Europe! We then walk past Austurvöllur, a main square, and passed by the Parliament Building and Reykjavik Cathedral. From there, we walked to Tjörnin Pond, where City Hall is located, but it also features perhaps the strangest statue in Europe: The Monument to the Unknown Bureaucrat. It was then time to visit the nearby Settlement Exhibition which was built around the ruins of a Viking Longhouse. Near the harbor, we visited the famous Sun Voyager steel sculpture and walked by the architectural landmark, Harpa Concert Hall. From there, we walked on a happening street named Bankastræti and then back in the other direction on Laugavegur.

We used the company, Dive.is and they provided us with a guide, all of the equipment and suits, and entrance into Thingvellir National Park.

#3 JOKULSARLON GLACIER TOUR ????
Jokulsarlon is a glacial lagoon in southeast Iceland. The lagoon is filled with icebergs from Europe's largest glacier Vatnajokull. We took a zodiac boat tour around Jokulsarlon so that we could get up close to the giant glacier and icebergs. The company we used for the tour was Arctic Adventures. They provided the wetsuits for our trip and the bus ride to the lagoon.

The Beer Spa or Bjórböðin is a unique experience that is so relaxing. Our beer spa experience started out with relaxing in their outdoor hot tubs. After the hot tub, it was our turn for the beer spa. The tub is filled with water, beer, hops, and yeast. There is a beer tap so you can drink cold beer while bathing in hot beer. The bath lasts for 25 minutes and then we headed to the relaxation room for another 25 minutes.

Whale watching in Iceland is very popular in the cute village of Husavik. We went whale watching with North Sailing. Unfortunately we didn't see whales in Husavik, so we tried again the next day in Hjalteyri and we were successful! We saw a family of pilot whales and a humpback whale.

Seljalandsfoss is such a special waterfall because you can actually walk directly behind it.
SKOGAFOSS
Skogafoss is one of Iceland's biggest waterfalls. We were so lucky when we arrived at Skogafoss because it was a sunny day, so we could see a rainbow.

BLACK SAND BEACHES ????
REYNISFJARA BEACH
Iceland's most famous beach is definitely Reynisfjara. You can't swim in the water because the current is very strong, but it is so popular because of its unique black sand. The sand gets its color because of volcanic ash.
DIAMOND BEACH ????
Diamond Beach is located right by Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It is a black sand beach that is famous for the icebergs that wash up along the shore. The icebergs look like diamonds sparkling along the beach.

Hvammsvik Hot Springs Mosfellsbaer/ Iceland Winter 2023
Wir besuchten die Hvammsvik Hot Springs.
Etwa 45 Minuten von Reykjavik befindet sich der Hvalfjördur. Hier gibt es in einer kleinen Bucht an dessen Südufer ein neues Thermalbad. Versprochen wird ein außergewöhnliches Badeerlebnis in 8 natürlichen Outdoor-Pools. Diese werden durch eine alte Quelle gespeist. Die Temperaturen der einzelnen Pools variieren von Meerestemperatur (zwischen 10°Grad bis 42°Grad). Die Lage am schwarzen Strand ist toll. Das Wasser ist ein Mix aus Geothermischen Quellwasser und Meerwasser aus dem Atlantik. Umgeben ist das Bad von imposanten Bergen - bei uns Schneebedeckt. Auch gibt es hier ein Dampfbad mit Outdoor-Dusche und man kann sich Paddelboards (je nach Wetter) ausleihen.
Es hieß man muss Tickets im Internet buchen - wir machten es vor Ort. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Eintritt kostet 6900 ISK (Mo-Fr) und 7900 ISK (Sa+So).
Für den kleinen Appetit gibt es ein Restaurant Stormur Bistro, Getränke werden auch an einer Bar (Fenster zum Pool) ausgeschenkt.
Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und toll angelegt.
Auf dem Gelände gibt es auch Häuser, welche man mieten kann.
Badeschuhe sind empfehlenswert, vor allem wenn man in den Pool im Meer möchte oder am Strand spazieren geht. Auch sollte man Bedenken, dass dies Naturpools sind und man auf Seegras/Seealgen in den unteren Pools treffen kann.
My Fingers Almost Fell Off.. [Hiking Tour In Iceland] Helgafell, Mosfellsbær 4K
Quick tour up the mountain Helgafell in Mosfellsbær/Iceland on a snowy day. The mountain is 216 meters tall above sea level but the trail starts at around 100 meters. The trail is pretty steep in the beginning but over all it's just a very freshening and fun outdoor experience. There's also a great 360° view from the top as can be seen in the video.
I apologize for the wind noise and the heavy breathing..
Oh and btw I was wearing fingerless gloves while holding the camera so my fingers almost fell off due to the cold!
