O centro histórico.Em Peniche para além do Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, das Igrejas de São Pedro e da Misericórdia, destacamos o Forte de Peniche, construído no séc. XVI/XVII.

Moreira de Rei | Trancoso | Portugal
Antiquíssima vila e cabeça de um importante concelho, o seu nome lembra a todos os vindouros que Moreira acolheu o rei D. Sancho II quando ia a caminho do exílio de Toledo. Mais do que por esta hospedagem passageira, o povoado é memorável pelas sepulturas escavadas no granito. Era uma imensa necrópole proto-cristã, pois que tais sepulturas são de comum consideradas como dos primeiros tempos do cristianismo peninsular, o que representa muito na determinação da época em que, seguramente, se pode dizer habitado o território da freguesia.
O castelo diz-se do tempo dos lusitanos ou da presença romana. Curiosamente alcantilado em enorme formação de mamelões de granito, debruça-se sobre linda vista e embora arruinado, ainda dispõe de alguns panos de muralha e da pitoresca Cadeira d’El-Rei, cavado na rocha, que nos consegue trazer imagens rememorativas do seu passado.
Por Moreira de Rei passava a estrada militar romana, sendo ainda visíveis alguns troços de calçada. Os lugares de Golfar e Esporões foram “villas” de possessores visigóticos, e godos eram também os esposos Rodrigo e Leodegundes a quem a “Moraria” do século X pertencia.
