Molfetta is a town located in the northern side of the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia, southern Italy. It has a well restored old city and its own dialect.
Located in the north-western corner of its province, near the borders with the one of Barletta-Andria-Trani, and by the Adriatic Coast, Molfetta borders with the municipalities of Bisceglie (BT), Giovinazzo, Terlizzi and Ruvo di Puglia. The town is 27 km from Andria, 31 from Barletta and 34 from Bari.

Molfetta is a port city with 59,470 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2017) in the metropolitan city of Bari in Puglia (Italy). The city is located about 25 km northwest of Bari. Molfetta is the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese Molfetta-Ruvo-Giovinazzo-Terlizzi. The later Pope Innocent VIII was Bishop of Molfetta from 1472 until his election in 1484. A small stopover in Molfetta on the way to Vieste.
The city of Molfetta with almost 60,000 inhabitants is located about 25 kilometers from Bari. Located directly on the Adriatic Sea, the port has always been one of the most important in the region. The proximity to Bari makes Molfetta the perfect starting point for a city trip. In this town, the past meets the present, creating an interesting mix. The renovated old town and the beach promenade invite you to stroll and stroll. After the city was gutted, the old part of Molfetta was almost completely destroyed. In the meantime, the old town and the cathedrals located there are worth seeing again after renovation. The imposing Duomo di San Corrado was built in 1150 in Romanesque style with two bell towers. The new cathedral was then built in the 17th and 18th centuries. The old town of Molfetta runs parallel to the beach promenade and is crossed by many narrow streets.
