Le Gabon est un pays situé sur la côte atlantique de l'Afrique centrale. Aux XVe et XVIe siècles, le Gabon a été visité par des explorateurs et des commerçants européens, qui ont établi des contacts avec les tribus indigènes. Les régions côtières du Gabon, étaient également un centre majeur de la traite transatlantique des esclaves. À la fin du XIXe siècle, le Gabon est devenu une colonie française, et il est resté sous sa domination jusqu'en 1960, date à laquelle il a obtenu son indépendance. Pendant ce temps, les Français ont développé l'infrastructure et l'économie du Gabon, et ils ont également utilisé le pays comme source de matières premières et de main d'œuvre.

La ville abrite de nombreux bâtiments gouvernementaux, dont le palais présidentiel et l'Assemblée nationale. Elle possède également un quartier d'affaires dynamique, avec de nombreuses banques, hôtels et magasins. Les principales industries de la ville sont le bois, le pétrole et la pêche. Libreville est également un centre culturel, avec de nombreux musées, galeries d'art et théâtres.
La ville a une vie nocturne animée, avec de nombreux bars, clubs et restaurants. La ville présente un mélange d'architecture moderne et traditionnelle, avec de nombreux bâtiments coloniaux et de nouveaux gratte-ciel. La ville a une infrastructure relativement bonne, avec de bons hôpitaux et écoles, et des transports en commun réguliers. C'est une ville animée qui offre beaucoup aux visiteurs, de l'exploration de la beauté naturelle du Gabon à la découverte de la culture, et de l'histoire uniques du pays.

Brazzaville est la capitale et la plus grande ville de la République du Congo, un pays de l'Afrique centrale - classé 63e plus grand pays africain. Brazzaville a été fondée le 10 septembre 1880. La ville aurait été sur le site de Nkouna, un village batéké, et a été nommée d'après son fondateur en partie africain, l'explorateur Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza. Brazzaville est un grand carrefour culturel, où prospèrent l'activité artistique et l'activité intellectuelle. La ville a vu naître la rumba congolaise, un rythme musical et un thème initié par Paul Kamba, de l'Orchestre des bantous de la capitale.
Pendant la colonisation, alors qu'il était encore sous la domination française, le Congo Brazzaville était appelé le Congo français, ou le Moyen-Congo. L'un de ses surnoms communs est : Brazza la verte, en raison de ses politiques respectueuses de l'environnement. Brazzaville est une belle ville de plu de 1,8 million d'habitants, désignée ville de musique par l'UNESCO en 2013.
Brazzaville est située sur le fleuve Congo, en face de Kinshasa, la capitale de la République démocratique du Congo. Les deux villes sont situées sur des rives opposées du fleuve Congo, Kinshasa sur la rive sud et Brazzaville sur la rive nord. Elles sont considérées comme les capitales les plus proches du monde. Au fil des ans, des pourparlers ont eu lieu entre les deux pays pour construire un pont entre eux, sur le fleuve Congo. Cependant, des plans ont été établis mais bloqués à plusieurs reprises depuis 1991, pour un certain nombre de raisons.
La Basilique Sainte-Anne-du-Congo, et ses voûtes hautes de 22 m, arbore une flamboyante toiture d'émeraude, aux 200 000 tuiles, en forme d'ovni œcuménique. Roger Erell, qui l'a dessinée en 1943, y voit l'aboutissement de ses recherches de synthèse architecturale franco-africaine. L'utilisation de l'arc brisé, s'inspire des fers de lance. Selon H. Brisset Guibert, « cette église d'une ampleur inhabituelle en Afrique centrale, contient la quintessence de ce qui aurait pu être une véritable voie d'avenir, pour une architecture africaine moderne. La basilique Sainte-Anne est l'une des pièces architecturales les plus impressionnantes de la ville de Brazzaville. La basilique se trouve à environ 400 mètres de la gare principale de la ville.
Le bâtiment se trouve à côté d'un stade et d'un petit parc appartenant à la basilique. Elle est surtout connu pour ses arcs en ogive et son toit vert, et est l'un des principaux lieux de culte catholiques de la ville. Le bâtiment est considéré comme une fusion de l'architecture congolaise traditionnelle, et de l'architecture gothique européenne. La construction a commencé en 1943 et s'est terminée en 2011. Le bâtiment a duré plu de 60 ans, car la construction a été arrêtée pendant les troubles civils, l'insuffisance des ressources, et les dommages causés à l'église pendant la guerre civile, dans les années 1990. Le français est la langue officielle du Congo. La majorité des francophones du Congo vivent dans la zone urbaine de Brazzaville. Le français est utilisé comme langue d'enseignement dans les écoles, et est également enseigné comme matière. C'est aussi la langue de communication au sein du gouvernement. Le Kitouba et le Lingala sont les langues nationales du pays. Le kitouba est la plus grande langue ethnique de la République du Congo, principalement parlée dans le sud du pays. Il est parlé par plus de 50,35% de la population congolaise. Le lingala est principalement parlé dans les régions du nord et de l'est. Il est largement utilisé dans l'administration, le commerce et la formation pédagogique.
Les langues minoritaires en République du Congo sont nombreuses; environ 60. Certaines d'entre elles sont : Kiteké, Akwa, Likouba et KiKongo. Avec plus de 100 groupes ethniques au Congo, chacun parlant sa propre langue, il y a tellement de langues parlées au Congo et dans sa capitale, Brazzaville.

Gabon (/ɡəˈbɒn/; French pronunciation: [ɡabɔ̃]), officially the Gabonese Republic (French: République gabonaise), is a country on the west coast of Central Africa. Located on the equator, Gabon is bordered by Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north, the Republic of the Congo on the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. It has an area of nearly 270,000 square kilometres (100,000 sq mi) and its population is estimated at 2.1 million people. There are three distinct regions: the coastal plains, the mountains (the Cristal Mountains and the Chaillu Massif in the centre), and the savanna in the east. Gabon's capital and largest city is Libreville. The official language is French.
Originally settled by Pygmy peoples, they were largely replaced and absorbed by Bantu tribes as they migrated. By the 18th century, a Myeni-speaking kingdom known as the Kingdom of Orungu formed in Gabon. It was able to become a powerful trading center mainly due to its ability to purchase and sell slaves. The kingdom fell with the demise of the slave trade in the 1870s. Since its independence from France in 1960, the sovereign state of Gabon has had three presidents. In the early 1990s, Gabon introduced a multi-party system and a new democratic constitution that allowed for a more transparent electoral process and reformed many governmental institutions.
Abundant petroleum and foreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the most prosperous countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the fifth highest HDI[7] in the region (after Mauritius, Seychelles, Botswana and South Africa) and the fifth highest GDP per capita (PPP) in all of Africa (after Seychelles, Mauritius, Equatorial Guinea and Botswana). Its GDP grew by more than 6% per year from 2010 to 2012.
Gabon is rich in folklore and mythology. Raconteurs keep traditions alive such as the mvett among the Fangs and the ingwala among the Nzebis. Gabon is located on the Atlantic coast of central Africa on the equator, between latitudes 3°N and 4°S, and longitudes 8° and 15°E. Gabon generally has an equatorial climate with an extensive system of rainforests, with 89.3% of its land area forested.[16]
There are three distinct regions: the coastal plains (ranging between 20 and 300 km [10 and 190 mi] from the ocean's shore), the mountains (the Cristal Mountains to the northeast of Libreville, the Chaillu Massif in the centre), and the savanna in the east. The coastal plains form a large section of the World Wildlife Fund's Atlantic Equatorial coastal forests ecoregion and contain patches of Central African mangroves especially on the Muni River estuary on the border with Equatorial Guinea.
Geologically, Gabon is primarily ancient Archean and Paleoproterozoic igneous and metamorphic basement rock, belonging to the stable continental crust of the Congo Craton, a remnant section of extremely old continental crust. Some formations are more than two billion years old. Ancient rock units are overlain by marine carbonate, lacustrine and continental sedimentary rocks as well as unconsolidated sediments and soils that formed in the last 2.5 million years of the Quaternary. The rifting apart of the supercontinent Pangaea created rift basins that filled with sediments and formed the hydrocarbons which are now a keystone of the Gabonese economy.[18] Gabon is notable for the Oklo reactor zones, the only known natural nuclear fission reactor on Earth which was active two billion years ago. The site was discovered during uranium mining in the 1970s to supply the French nuclear power industry.
Gabon's largest river is the Ogooué which is 1,200 kilometres (750 mi) long. Gabon has three karst areas where there are hundreds of caves located in the dolomite and limestone rocks. Some of the caves include Grotte du Lastoursville, Grotte du Lebamba, Grotte du Bongolo, and Grotte du Kessipougou.
Gabon is also noted for efforts to preserve the natural environment. In 2002, President Omar Bongo Ondimba designated roughly 10% of the nation's territory to be part of its national park system (with 13 parks in total), one of the largest proportions of nature parkland in the world. Hiking and overnight camping in the wild surrounding the railway
Followed by two young friends, i decided to explore the 37 km of wilderness surrounding the railway between Franceville town and the city of Moanda in the South-East of Gabon. The area, a mixte of savanna and forest is not so famous for wildlife but you can spot leopards sometime but this didn't discourage us to manage an overnight camping there.

Hiking for fun
Followed by my two young friends, we continued our hike along the wilderness surrounding the Gabon's railway between Franceville town and the city of Moanda. This additional 20 km trip required a good physical shape from us, it was challenging but even more exciting than expected.
We mainly chose to experience this long hike in this wild and stonned street to check how difficult or easy it is to hike in the deep jungle. Because it's seems to be harder and even slower to walk here than in the real jungle.

Régab is the national beer of Gabon brewed by the only brewing company of the country since 1966. It's a really famous pale lager and you shouldn't go to Gabon without having tried it because it's one of the symbol of the country and especially for people who live there.
