In this episode we are on a motorcycle trip in eastern Canada and take a ferry from Newfoundland to Miquelon France and then from Miquelone France to Saint Pierre France and then from Saint Pierre France to Newfoundland Canada. Saint Pierre is where I spent the majority of my time well I was in France. I flew from Canada to France... in an HOUR?
Back in the summer, I flew from Canada to France in less than an hour... But how's that possible?
Well, just off the coast of Newfoundland is a tiny French overseas collectivity called Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
These islands are home to only 6,000 people, and they have their own airline called Air Saint-Pierre!
Needing to fly from St. John's to Halifax, I decided to make an overnight detour to France to fly with them, and it was a trip to remember.

Hello people! Aujourd'hui, c'est une journée de déplacement! On a 4 h de route à faire à partir de St. John's et on se dirige vers Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, des îles qui appartiennent à la France! Donc, essentiellement on s'en va en France!
Pour aller sur ces îles, on doit prendre un traversier, alors on en profite pour vous montrer tout le processus pour s'y rendre! On y sera pour 4 jours et on compte bien manger au minimum une pâtisserie!

France, officially the French Republic (French: République française) is a country located primarily in Western Europe. Its eighteen integral regions (five of which are overseas) span a combined area of 643,801 km2 (248,573 sq mi) and had a total population of over 68 million as of January 2023.
France is a unitary semi-presidential republic with its capital in Paris, the country's largest city and main cultural and commercial centre; other major urban areas include Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille, Bordeaux, and Nice.
Inhabited since the Palaeolithic era, the territory of Metropolitan France was settled by Celtic tribes known as Gauls during the Iron Age. Rome annexed the area in 51 BC, leading to a distinct Gallo-Roman culture that laid the foundation of the French language. The Germanic Franks formed the Kingdom of Francia, which became the heartland of the Carolingian Empire. The Treaty of Verdun of 843 partitioned the empire, with West Francia becoming the Kingdom of France in 987. In the High Middle Ages, France was a powerful but highly decentralised feudal kingdom. Philip II successfully strengthened royal power and defeated his rivals to double the size of the crown lands; by the end of his reign, France had emerged as the most powerful state in Europe. From the mid-14th to the mid-15th century, France was plunged into a series of dynastic conflicts involving England, collectively known as the Hundred Years' War, and a distinct French identity emerged as a result. The French Renaissance saw art and culture flourish, conflict with the House of Habsburg, and the establishment of a global colonial empire, which by the 20th century would become the second-largest in the world. The second half of the 16th century was dominated by religious civil wars between Catholics and Huguenots that severely weakened the country. France again emerged as Europe's dominant power in the 17th century under Louis XIV following the Thirty Years' War. Inadequate economic policies, inequitable taxes and frequent wars (notably a defeat in the Seven Years' War and costly involvement in the American War of Independence) left the kingdom in a precarious economic situation by the end of the 18th century. This precipitated the French Revolution of 1789, which overthrew the Ancien Régime and produced the Declaration of the Rights of Man, which expresses the nation's ideals to this day.

DUNEFEST 2022 - Saint-Pierre et Miquelon
Vidéo souvenir du Dunefest 2022. Un festival hors du commun organisé par l'association Eklectik sur la dune de Langlade. De la bonne musique, le fameux concours de mangeur de homard, le tournoi de foot, le concours de châteaux de sable. Bref une recette qui fonctionne depuis presque 10 ans. Saint Pierre et Miquelon, un vestige de la Nouvelle France
A 25 km au large de l'île de Terre Neuve (Canada), l'archipel de Saint Pierre et Miquelon sert au départ de port d'attache aux pêcheurs bretons, normands et basques. Il est rattaché officiellement à la France en 1763 lors du traité de Paris et servira de lieu de déportation des Acadiens par les Anglais.
Lors de la seconde guerre mondiale, ce petit bout de France failli lui être confisqué par les Américains et les Canadiens sous prétexte de suspicion de collaboration.
Un archipel où la densité de population est forte (Île de Saint Pierre) mais où la nature reste sauvage.
Une impression de côtes bretonnes déchiquetées avec un climat difficile (brouillards, fraîcheur).
