Exploring an Abandoned Workshop in Milovice (Lost Place in CZ) | Urbex Short #4

Urbex Short: Abandoned Workshop in Milovice (CZ)
► Interested in abandoned buildings, “Lost Places” and Urban Exploration (UE)? You have a passion for Geocaching, Bushcraft, Outdoor and more? Be sure to check out our channel and the other videos, too!

This is one of the last remaining abandoned buildings in Milovice. It looked like a repair shop to us, but maybe it was something different. However, similar to the airstrip of Milovice (check out the last video), this location is well-attended: Some people build an improvised shooting range, other might have barbecued here. And when we left this building, we have spotted a young man, who carefully looked around and entered the workshop very fast. But maybe it was just a fellow urban explorer…

As the title implies the „Urbex Short“-series is a much more compact version of “Urbex”. It’s a quick visit of an abandoned place that is summed up by BWT (Broken Window Theory) in a couple of shots. But it isn’t always about the most prominent spots of the locations – it’s also about the little differences that make these places special in a distinctive way.

Czech Republic by Titan Travel

A visit to the Czech Republic wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Capital city of Prague, where you cannot help but admire fairytale Gothic spires, the romantic Charles Bridge and spectacular castle views.

Prague has a rich cultural tradition going back centuries where Haydn, Beethoven, Liszt and Mozart all spent time, and it was here that Figaro was first acclaimed and Don Giovanni received its first performance.

Milovice is a town in the Czech Republic in the Nymburk District located about 38 km northeast of Prague. Towards the end of the year of 2007 the total population has reached 7,500 people.

Going Soviet in Prague ????????

Prague, who doesnt love the city? However most people only visit a small part of Prague and mainly stay around the city center. But most people cant afford to live in the city center but live just outside of it.

Today im showing you your typical apartment blocks that you can find all over Prague. These are the Soviet Apartment buildings. They have been around since the late 60's when communism was still controlling the Czech Republic as part of the Soviet Union (USSR, CCCP).

These houses are much cheaper than the ones in the city center but luckily now a days they look much nicer on the outside and are in a much better condition than in other former soviet countries. However, when you use your imagination you can still see the Soviet era coming back. It does make me wonder, how did it look like 40 years ago?

4К Czech Republic Prague walk: Ovocný trh, Rytířská, Bethlem Square, Vltava embankment???????? HDR ASMR

Today in our 4К Prague walk, we will continue moving through the city center, from the Vegetable Market Square to the Vltava embankment. The weather is getting better and warmer day by day. I like walking the streets with you. I noticed details that I didn't see before. I discovered so many new things for myself.

00:45 Vegetable Market Square (Ovocný trh) is a small elongated square in the area between Celetná and Rytířská streets. The marketplace existed in these places as early as the 13th century. The fruit trade prevailed there until the beginning of the 20th century. The current name has been valid since 1870. There are several important Prague buildings on the Fruit Market - the Estates Theater, Karolinum, the Kolowrat Palace, the House of the Black Madonna, and the Myslbek Palace's back wing. Today, the Fruit Market is part of the Old Town pedestrian zone.

10:15 The Bethlehem Square (Betlémské náměstí) is the heart of the best-preserved part of the Old Town. It lies outside the main tourist routes and in a labyrinth of streets and side streets, such that usually, only those who are really looking for it are able to find it. The Square was founded in a most peculiar way, albeit typical for a historical town: the demolition of the Church of Saints Philip and James with the adjoining cemetery, whose area determined both the space and size of today’s Square. The dominant feature of the Square is the Betlémská Chapel, a stark reminder of the figure of the preacher and Rector of Prague University, Master Jan Hus, who was burned in 1415 at the stake for his radical ideas on reformation, following the Council of Constance. This is also the place where the foundations of revolt by his followers were laid, and it became the epicenter of the violent response to his martyrdom, culminating in what came to be known in European history as the Hussite wars. During these wars, the Czech rebels were able to repeatedly and successfully repel the crusaders. The legend of the Hussites, who fought valiantly for their rights, was an important component in the emergence of Czech national self-confidence in the 19th century. Its “moment of glory” came, unfortunately, at the height of Stalinism, when the Hussites were usurped as the direct predecessors of the Communists and their victory was quoted as further proof that Communists were historically predestined to rule over the rest. Evidence of this sad abuse of history is the state of today’s Betlémská Chapel, which was almost entirely rebuilt in the 1950s, under the watchful eye of the Communist Party as a “historical reconstruction” on top of the remains of the extinct Hussite shrine. Today’s Square, though, represents first and foremost the center of cultural life in the city. In the vicinity of the chapel lies the Fragner Gallery, specializing in exhibitions of contemporary art and architecture. The western side of the square ends with U Halánků House, which houses fascinating exotic collections of the Náprstek Museum. There are several pubs and cafés on the square and the surrounding streets. They are unlike your average tourist place and often, represent the last bastion of normal social life in the Old Town.

Park Mirakulum
Živý program o víkendech, svátcích a prázdninách.
