Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. Here a whole museum is dedicated to him - the H.C. Andersens Hus (the museum was opened in 2021, not in 2022, as in the video described). A visit is worthwhile. Both the modern wooden architecture and the interactive, audio-guided exhibition about Hans Christian Andersen and his fairy tales are especially great.
If you are hungry, we recommend Storms Pakhus. Storms Pakhus is a popular place to try food from all over the world. A real food market. The atmosphere is really cozy. The market is open until 11pm every day, and even longer on weekends.
Just outside the city is Odense Zoo, with its new 250-meter tree-top walk and countless animals. Close by is Den Fynske Landsby. This is a Fyn village where you can visit old houses and learn more about the former life in Denmark.

Hello All,
In 2022, we decided to spend our Christmas in the north of Europe. Although, we booked the tickets to test if we are ready to go to the north and bear the cold. This was our first Scandinavian experience and we loved it immensely. Everything was closed during Christmas, however, we still loved the fact that we were in Denmark and enjoyed the serenity and tranquility.
Denmark is the birthplace of Hygge and we could feel it through the windows of the houses and the cafes in the cold short days. As we did not want to interfere with the privacy of the houses, we captured whatever we could from far. However, to experience it, one has to visit Denmark in the winters.
