As of 2015, China is the fourth most visited country in the world, after France, United States, and Spain, with 56.9 million international tourists per year.[2]
Aerial China: Ya'an, Sichuan 四川雅安（Rain City）
Ya'an, a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, is located on the western edge of the Sichuan Basin and the eastern foothills of Qionglai Mountains. It is adjacent to Chengdu in the east, Ganzi in the west, Liangshan in the south, and Aba in the north, 120 kilometers away from Chengdu. It belongs to the mountains on the western edge of the Sichuan Basin, and it crosses the Sichuan Basin. There are two major terrain areas on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau; the climate type is subtropical monsoon humid climate; the city has a total area of 15,046 square kilometers, with 2 districts and 6 counties under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh census data, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Ya'an City is 1,434,603 people.
Ya'an, the Rain City located in western Sichuan, has been known as Huaxi Rain Screen and Yazhou Sky Leak since ancient times. 365 days a year, there are as many as 218 days of rainy days in Ya'an, with an average annual rainfall of 1,800 mm and rainfall hours as high as 2,319 hours. It is really a veritable Rain City. The poet Li Shangyin of the Tang Dynasty once sighed: Why should we cut candles at the west window together, Bashan rains at night and rises in the autumn pond. The folks of Ya'an also have the distress of Shu dog barking day and Ya no three days sunny. So why does Ya'an become a Rain City?
There is a beautiful and touching myth in Ya'an. Legend has it that in ancient times, the sky was smashed by the Canglong, and the ancestor of humanity, Nuwa, made multicolored stones to repair the sky. When the sky elsewhere was completed, and only the sky in Ya'an was left, Nuwa was exhausted. She barely held up the last colorful stone and flew over Ya'an. After hard work, she fell into the realm of Ya'an due to overwork and vomited blood. Died. Since then, Ya'an has been shrouded in rain, and Nu Wa has also turned into a mountain in the Rain City, watching bitterly on the edge of the Qingyi River that was rolled over by the blue waves.

China is the 3rd largest country by area with over 47% of the population living in urban areas. However, it has some of the most diverse and dramatic landscapes of anywhere in the world.
The Larung Gar Buddhist Academy in the Sichuan Province has basic amenities for the 40,000 monks and nuns who stay there. The secluded location is 370 miles from Chengdu and has grown dramatically since its creation. There are no televisions allowed throughout this village.

Discovering Incredible OFF THE BEATEN PATH China
Zhaoxing is the largest Dong village in China. It sits in Guizhou province, close to the border of Guangxi. This is rice country. The incredibly beautiful rice terraces decorate the outer edges of the village. It's a tourist attraction, but it still feels very off the beaten path. Just a couple train stops east and you'll be in Guilin - one of the most popular places for tourism in China. I didn't know much about Zhaoxing when I decided to go there, but I knew I wanted to avoid the heavily visited area of Guilin. Zhaoxing fit exactly what I was looking for.
The Dong people make up a very small percentage of China. There are about 3 million of them. Their culture is very unique and I really enjoyed witnessing aspects of it. The highlights include seeing them farm the rice fields, listening to them sing, and trying their food.
Like I said earlier, this is rice country and the rice I ate in Zhaoxing was some of the best rice I've ever had. Their sticky rice cooked in bamboo and their special you cha (oil tea) with puffed rice were delicious.
After traveling China for close to 2 weeks, this was my most peaceful stop. Zhaoxing is a great place to unwind and discovery a bit of China that most people in the world will never know about.

What is the most difficult airport to fly to in China? The Sichuan Panzhihua Airport can be ranked among the top three in China. The Panzhihua Airport is located at the top of a mountain, and there is a cliff next to the runway. Affected by the terrain, the wind direction and speed change greatly, the airflow is unstable, and the maneuvering performance of the aircraft becomes challenging, so it is difficult to take off and land. Meishan, Sichuan, China
Meishan, known as Meizhou in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province. It is the hometown of Su Dongpo, the great writer of the millennium, and an important part of the national Tianfu New Area, known as the City of Thousands of Years of Poetry and Books and the First State of Humanities [4]. It has an area of 7,140 square kilometers, with two districts, Dongpo and Pengshan, and four counties, Renshou, Hongya, Danling and Qing Shen. According to the seventh census data, the resident population of Meishan City was 2955,219 as of November 1, 2020. In 2021, Meishan will achieve a regional GDP of 154.787 billion yuan.
Meishan has a rich culture and was one of the three major engraving and printing centers in China during the Song Dynasty. Among the eight great prose writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties, Meishan Su Xun, Su Shi and Su Zhe occupied three seats. During the Song Dynasty, there were 886 scholars in Meishan, known as the 800 scholars. [6]
Meishan is ecologically pleasant, located in the central subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons and a long frost-free period. The city's forest coverage rate reaches 50%, urban and rural greening coverage rate of 58.04%, the proportion of water area of the national land area of 9.5%, is a national garden city, national forest city. It has the World's Most Beautiful Table Mountain, Longevity Blessed Land, West Sichuan First Sea, Emei Half Mountain It has been rated as the top tourist destination in the Asia-Pacific region (second- and third-tier cities) and the most beautiful ecological and cultural tourism city in China.
Meishan is well located, with the main city only 60 km from Chengdu and 50 km from both Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. The bus service between Chengdu and Meishan operates with 80 trains/day. The whole area of Meishan is within the radius of Tianfu New Area, including 94 square kilometers of core area and 448 square kilometers of coordination and control area. It has been ranked among the top 5 in Sichuan for 11 consecutive years in terms of investment attraction, and the number of Fortune 500 companies is 33, ranking 2nd in Sichuan.
