NSW South Coast Road Trip from Sydney
Explore the NSW South Coast on this five-day family road trip departing from Sydney. Journey along the spectacular coastal roads, past craggy cliffs, and rolling hills. Enjoy surfing and scenic walking tracks at Killalea Beach, then visit the Minamurra rainforest center. Here you'll find gorgeous waterfalls and native wildlife. Stroll amongst the canopy, taking in the surrounding rainforest and canyons. Explore sleepy coastal towns, like Kiama, with its gourmet lolly shop and the famous Kiama blowhole which jets 30 meters into the air. Snorkel, paddleboard and kayak around the crystal clear waters, and taste some of the delicious fresh produce of the South Coast. Discover the whitest sand beach in the world: Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. The Sapphire Coast in New South Wales is an absolutely mind-blowing road trip if you're making your way from Melbourne to Sydney via the coastal route.

After we said 'Sayonara' to Victoria and crossed into New South Wales, our first stop was the beautiful township of Eden, roughly a 4-hour drive from Lakes Entrance in Gippsland. From there, it's super easy to explore the vast and scenic Ben Boyd Park and the town's gorgeous beaches and coastlines.
2 days later, I've made up my mind about where I'm going to retire. Plans sorted. We then drove another 2 hours to Bermagui, which was a perfect halfway point to stretch our legs, whip out a picnic and run amuck at the stunning Blue Pool Bermagui. You absolutely have to stop here to admire and enjoy this incredible little spot and, if the weather permits, go for a dip inside.
The real stunner was Hyams Beach located in the bottom half of Jervis Bay in New South Wales. If you want to dig your feet into some of the finest and whitest sand beach in the world, then a few nights here (or even a week) is absolutely necessary. Only a 2-hour day trip from Sydney, Jervis Bay Australia is the perfect getaway from the city to get back in touch with nature. It certainly is one of the most breathtaking Sydney beaches, or probably, in all of Australia. Prove me wrong.
If Jervis Bay isn't on your Melbourne to Sydney itinerary, then you need to rejig that entire plan - right now.

South Coast Part 2 NSW Australia - Narooma to Eden and EVERYTHING in between!
Well, we didn't intend for this video to be THIS jam packed but there was just so much to see and do! Would you believe this was filmed over just 3 days!
We find seals at Narooma, admire many rocks that kind of look like things (Australia Rock, Glasshouse Rocks, Camel Rock and Horsehead Rock), take many chilly dips, go paddle boarding completely delirious from too much sun, find hidden gems like Aslings Rock Pool and Wallagoot Gap, eat great food in Tilba, drink beers at Tarthra Hotel, visit a pier or 2, get scared by monster jellyfish and disappearing crabs and say how blue is this water! a million times.
Our home base for the trip was Hobart Beach camp ground (not Hobarts beach Monique you fool haha), this was a National Parks camp ground and was really well equipped, it even had hot showers and was a short walk to Wallagoot beach and Wallagoot Lake.

Fun Search things to do Eden, Pambula and Merimbula, Australia
In the Victorian September school holidays FunSearch went on a roadtrip adventure from Melbourne to the stunning Sapphire Coast (far south coast of NSW). It’s an absolutely beautiful part of Australia, teeming with Australian wildlife including echidnas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, goannas, seals, turtles, dolphins - and lots of friendly whales! the landscape in which the animals live, is its own natural attraction

Potoroo Palace and other fun things to do in Merimbula
FunSearch went on the road looking for fun on the Sapphire Coast – the NSW far south coast – and we found plenty.
Just a few minutes outside Merimbula, Potoroo Palace is a fantastic experience for everyone who goes there. You'll have lots of fun while being very well educated about Australia's unique wildlife. You'll also learn the actions everyone at Potoroo Palace are taking to look after and rehabilitate a whole range of animals including Snakes and Lizards, Owls, Dingoes, Kangaroos and of course - Potoroo's too!
After Potoroo Palace we visited Merimbula's Magic Mountain and it goes without saying that the fun was over the top for all of us (especially from the rollercoaster).
We then hit the sandy 4WD tracks in the isuzu MU-X to a remote beach to enjoy the afternoon.
We love everything about the Sapphire Coast :)

Magic Mountain Theme Park, Merimbula NSW, Australia
We had so much fun and kids are ejoying on our 1st day in Magic Mountain theme park near the town of Merimbula South Coast, NSW, Australia.
The park's main attractions include the Diamond Python Roller Coaster. The Mountain Slide is a popular 600 m (2,000 ft) steel toboggan track. [2] Two waterslides - The Black Hole and Doom Tube along with the Kiddie Splash Pool make up the park's water attractions. Grand Prix Cars, Mini Golf, Magic Carpet slide, Toddler Town Cars, Triassic Park (an attraction featuring life sized model dinosaurs in natural habitats).

EAT Merimbula is a premium foodie providore event held on the foreshore of Fishpen Merimbula, overlooking pristine waters and working oyster leases. The event features local chefs and restaurateurs’ gathering in a market style setting to create bespoke dishes featuring local produce. The dishes are presented in entrée sizes and prices are capped at $10 per dish. The event is free to enter and runs from 10am- 2pm.
This year we dished up a whole weekend of EAT and a huge thanks to all who attended the festival and the partner events. We're looking forward to bringing you even more delicious offerings in 2021 so stay tuned for announcements late in 2020.

Right on the water overlooking Merimbula's beautiful bay, The Wharf Restaurant not only does amazing seafood. It has another trick up its sleeve.
Under the restaurant is the region's only public aquarium!
But don't worry - the restaurant never dips into the cache downstairs for its kitchens!
