One day in COLOGNE, GERMANY | Everything you need to see
On this walking tour of Cologne, Germany I show you all the highlights the city has to offer. We arrive at the Main Train Station in the Heart of the City. The main attraction, the Cologne Cathedral, is located right next to the train station. It’s Germany’s MOST VISITED LANDMARK. We’ll visit the inside of the main building, climb up the South Tower for some stunning views and go underneath the Cathedral to see the Treasury.
We’ll walk north along the Rhine River to the Rhein Seilbahn, a gondola that crosses the Rhine River, walk through the Rheinpark, head up to the observation deck of the Köln Triangle for views of the Cathedral from the other side of the river, cross over the Hohenzollernbridge, which is covered with over 500,000 love padlocks, stroll through the Rhine Garden with its colorful houses and restaurants, check out the Deutzer Bridge for the views, make our way to Deiters, a costuming store where I talk about the Karneval (Carnival) and ultimately end up at Früh - a traditional German brewhouse where I explain the beer etiquette of Colognians.

THE BEST DAY TRIPS FROM DUSSELDORF, GERMANY
I’ve just come back from travelling around Germany for 10 days and one of my favourite spots was Dusseldorf.
I have to admit I’m not the best at geography sometimes, but when I arrived in the city I quickly discovered there were some great day trips from Dusseldorf, all just a short train ride away.
I’d heard of Cologne, Dortmund and Essen but I never realised they were so close together. That meant as soon as I arrived in Düsseldorf I wanted to explore all North Rhine-Westphalia had to offer. (That’s the name of the region where you’ll find all of these places by the way!)
Throw in some crazy industrial landscapes like Zeche Zollverein and Duisburg Landschaftspark (just wait until you see the photos) and you’ve got the making of a fantastic few days in and around Dusseldorf.
