If you are planning to visit Parma town, in Emilia-Romagna - Italy, here you’ll find the best tips on things to do in the city, with a sightseeing map on the most relevant points of interest to enjoy, so you can easily imagine and organize your trip: WHAT to see, HOW to plan your visit, and WHY to discover Parma.

In this video:
- WHAT are the major attractions that you can't go home without having seen, including Piazza Garibaldi, Roman Forum, Governor’s palace, Palazzo del Podestà, Piazza Duomo, Parma Cathedral, Parma Baptistery, Piazzale della Pace, Monumental Pilotta, Archaeological Museum, the beautiful Palatina Library, the National Gallery, the Farnese Theatre, Labirinto Della Masone.
- Then, I’ll describe to you HOW to follow a daily-tour to better visit the city, with a clear map of Parma town and tips for nearby attractions.
- Finally, we’ll discover WHY to visit Parma city, with his rich historic city center.

Parma is located along the ancient Via Emilia, between Milan and Bologna, crossed since Roman times by merchants and travelers.

WHY
The historic center is full of art masterpieces recognized worldwide and wide green spaces. The gastronomic tradition is also very remarkable, making Parma a Unesco Creative City of Gastronomy.

WHAT
The historical center of Parma is divided into three big parts.
- Piazza Garibaldi, the site of the Roman Forum, where you can find the Governor’s palace, with its clock tower, and Palazzo del Podestà.
- Piazza Duomo, where the highest artistic and religious expressions of the city stand, such as the Cathedral, probably one of the most stunning cathedrals in Italy started around the year 1059; and the Baptistery, made of pink marble from Verona.
- Finally, Piazzale della Pace, where Monumental Pilotta palace is the symbol of ducal power. Here is possible to admire the Archaeological Museum, the beautiful Palatina Library, the National Gallery, and the Farnese Theatre.

FOOD
Visiting Parma is worthwhile just for its amazing food.
It’s not a case that the European food safety authority is located in Parma.
From meat to cheese, the food in Parma Italy is legendary.
Taste Prosciutto di Parma DOP and the original Parmigiano Reggiano cheese!
FOOD TIPS:
- Pepen, Borgo S. Ambrogio 2,
- Frank Focaccia, Piazzale S. Lorenzo, 19/a, 43121 Parma
- Tra L'Uss e L'Asa, Borgo S. Biagio 6/c
- Bombe', Str. Farini 19/a

AROUND PARMA
Just outside Parma I suggest you visit “Labirinto Della Masone”, Masone Maze, an amazing labyrinth, composed entirely of bamboo plants (about 200 thousand!).

I Fell in Love...18 Best things to do in Ravenna, ITALY | Ravenna Travel guide

I'm sharing my Ravenna travel guide ( the best things to do in Ravenna Italy. Ravenna is the mosaic heart of Emilia Romagna. There are 8 UNESCO World Heritage Mosaics in Ravenna but it is also a really cute town. Kinda like the Paris of Italy. A lesser known destination of Italy, if you're an art lover, this city will steal your mosaic heart.

Note: I attended the #STSRavenna, a Social Travel Summit conference put on by iAmbassador, Ravenna and Emilia Romagna Tourism Boards. I was invited so I could attend as a delegate. The conference is for travel bloggers' self-betterment and to encourage discussions about responsible tourism. Due to overtourism being a problem in so many places responsible tourism strives to find positive solutions to aid or promote travel which is ethical, responsible, sustainable, eco-friendly and/or anti-animal cruel. It is something I personally strive to practice in my own travels and hope to encourage in my fellow travelers.

How do you get around Rome on a budget? In this video, I share how to use public transportation in Rome and how to get around Rome on a budget based on my travels to the Eternal City. Essentially, you can consider this video: “Rome public transportation explained by someone who navigated the system successfully on many trips!”

You’ll find everything you need to know about navigating Rome’s public transportation system with confidence.

Questions answered: How do I get around Rome? What is the best way to get around ROME Italy? How can I travel in Rome on a budget? How to get from Fiumucini FCO airport to the city center of Rome or from Ciampino Airport to Rome for the least amount of money? How much does the Rome public transportation metro or bus cost? What is a BIT, 10-BIT, or CIS card, how much does it cost, where can I buy one, and how do I use it? What are the pros and cons of certain transportation methods in Rome and what are the hours of operation?

So, how are you getting around Rome without a car? I break down the Rome transportation system (prices, city, metro rail, bus, airport transportation, maps, hours, etc.), rentals, and the tourist pass so you can navigate the Rome transportation system with confidence on your first, or next, visit.

Enjoy!

***???????????????? ????????????????????????????***
According to some sources, the name of Percile derives from the name of the Roman gens Porcia.
In the gallery of Geographical Maps located in the Vatican museums, built between 1580 and 1585, in one of the two maps of Lazio, the town is indicated with the name of Porcile.

A marble stele of a girl aged about 7 remains as evidence of the Roman period, which monument also remembers various local characters.
After the classical Roman age that characterized the houses of Percile grouped in Villae and Pagus (agricultural mansions and romant towns), the inhabitants began to build houses around small churches and parishes.

However, the first certain information about the town are dated between 314 and 335 in the biography of San Silvestro I.
In the 10th century, castles were built around the town to help defend the surrounding towns.
From 1011 to 5 May 1275 various feudal vicissitudes followed one another.

Ottone Frangipane, count of Sabina, donated it to the Abbot of Farfa;
Later it passed to the Orsini family. In the 17th century it became a fief of the Borghese family.
In the 19th century, after the battle of Mentana, Garibaldians took refuge in Percile, as attested by the toponyms of streets.

The First World War was a hard time for the town; 27 soldiers from Percile died, while in the Second World War the town was bombed forcing the inhabitants to take shelter as best they could in caves and huts located near the town.
Today the town is considered one of the most beautiful in Lazio region.
