Surfing Medewi : Bali's longest wave

Royal Caribbean Cruise Australia --- Fiji --- New Caledonia (AWESOME!) // #131
We're back in amazing Australia traveling through the sleepy wonderland of Medowie where we link up with Oregon Ducks alumni from Quakarazzi ...it's a small world full of Ducks! Our everpresent shadow, the RAIN, quickly catches up to us and ends the drought Medowie had been suffering. Good for them but time for us to leave after doing some bird watching and touring of historic buildings, so we roll back to Sydney where we meet up with Claire who we met in Tasmania and her sister Jade who we met up with in Busan Korea. Awesome times ahead! We hop on a gorgeous Royal Caribbean cruise ship and cruise through gorgeous New Caledonia and Fiji. The rain followed us to Fiji but there is a hot tub on the ship so we weren't complaining at all. We made an unplanned stopover in Noumea New Caledonia and took advantage of the gorgeous sunny weather to get some prime touring and walking done. We've loved everyplace we've been in New Caledonia but our next stop at Isle of Pines cemented this gorgeous island as our favorite spot in the entire island nation. This amazing adventures culminates with a slow cruise through through the always amazing Sydney Harbor during the pre-dawn hours. Now we're back in Oz and off to some land based adventures!

One morning we spent some of our time walking around Karuah Jetty.
While we were there we contemplated over the calm water waves.
This place has a tranquil vibe. It is located Just 2.5 hours north of Sydney and 50 minutes north of Newcastle in Port Stephens. Australia
Karuah Jetty is Set on the banks of the Karuah River at the edge of town, this laid-back resort is 12 km from Medowie Nature Reserve, 10 km from Wallaroo State Forest and 5 km from the A1 national highway.

Come join us on the journey as we map 150 hectares of wetlands. As part of our Van life motorhome adventure traveling our beautiful country Australia, with Jack the Boxer puppy and Stephen as Drone Guy.
We had a little surprise 5 hours after the mapping, 80 hectares of the wetlands went up in smoke and burnt out with a bush fire. So 4 days later we where back to make the wetlands again.
So thank you to this job my Drone Mapping skills have improved tremendously and I could not fault Maps Made Easy.

If you're staying in Canggu it's about a 2 hour ride North. The road is beautiful on a sunny day & you'll be rewarded with Bali's longest left handed wave. Small town, chill vibes & perfect waves. Medewi passes the vibe check. Come surf Medewi, Bali on your next visit to the island!
Surf conditions seem to be good whether the tide is high or low. If it's low there's a lot of rocks but once you get out it's all gucci. The waves were pumping most as the tide is coming in.
