Indonesian resorts are amazing!
Sunshine, watersports, beach living and... a gym?

Toward the end of our Indonesia trip we wanted to relax for a few days. After hiking mount Kelimutu we drove 3 hours north to Maumere straight to the gorgeous coconut garden beach resort. We had the best time at the beach resort and even though we were there during the rainy season we had incredible sunshine almost everyday and the clouds only gathered at night which meant we always got a nice cool change to sleep too!

If your planning a trip to the island of Flores and you make it out to Maumere you can't go passed the coconut beach resort. All the staff were so lovely and cooked some of the best and freshest vegetarian food we've ever had, it honestly might be the the best Indonesian resort!

FLORES & KOMODO ISLANDS | Indonesia

Sailing through the Komodo Islands by boat and scootering through Flores over 10 days was safe to say a damn good time. I was hanging in Indonesia when my mate Charles from HELLO FLORES ( got a hold of me and suggested we go on an adventure so I packed my Camera bag (pretty much all I packed ????) and gave Naude (helped me shoot parts of the trip) and Kirsten a call to join in, they didn't need much convincing. The 10 day's consisted of many hikes up volcanoes and down to waterfalls, endless diving in the clearest water I've been in and even witnessing Komodo dragons chow down on a water buffalo ????. Flores definitely has a raw untouched feel to it, the people are extremely friendly and the natural beauty is next level. If you enjoy Indonesia and spending time in Bali then I would definitely make this area a part of your trip.

Leaving at 2am we depart from Maumere and make our way to Mt. Kelimutu national park to capture the sunrise over these stunning volcanic crater lakes on the island of Flores Indonesia.

After capturing sunrise we then travel across the island to Koka beach.

Flores is one of the lesser-explored islands in Indonesia. Many travelers arrive in Labuan Bajo, and explore Komodo National Park but don't venture further into this beautiful and fascinating part of Indonesia. I can strongly recommend traveling around Flores and discovering its magic.

Maumere Best Spot Ep. 10 - Koka Beach, Flores Indonesia

Koka Beach is located in Wolowiro Village, Sikka Regency, Flores Island, Indonesia and is familiar to most people on Flores Island. Filling holidays and weekends, local residents and foreign tourists come to relax on the beach. They come in groups and spend hours enjoying the beauty of this beach. Some even stay on the beach. If you follow the Trans Flores road, from Maumere towards Ende, on the left side of the road there is a sign that reads Koka Beach Tourism Destinations. The location of the beach is only about 2 kilometers from the Trans Flores road.

Flores Island, Indonesia - Best Travel Destination

Flores is the most fascinating and beautiful island. Long hidden in the shadows of its more famous neighbor Bali, the island of Flores is finally emerging as a unique destination of its own. So, after visiting the lair of the Komodo dragons, take time to marvel at some of the wonders of Flores. Here you can swim in pristine lakes and waterfalls, dive at one of the 50 spectacular dive sites, go kayaking among craggy coasts and mangrove shores, explore mysterious caves and be warmly welcomed by the island’s people in their rituals, dances and daily life.
