Vieste is the easternmost town on the Gargano promontory, situated in the National Park, halfway between Vieste and the wonderful coastline of Mattinata.
Vieste has a historic medieval centre, a charming maze of ancient houses and narrow alleyways studded with typical souvenir shops and craft shops. After you've explored this ancient district, visit the Castle and the Cathedral, and then stroll down to Piazzetta Petrone, a small square with a remarkable coastal view.
The Pearl of Gargano charms with its silvery pink sand, limpid, crystal clear waters, long beaches, cliffs and 26 sea caves. The sea also stars at the Malacological Museum, which has more than 15 thousand shells from all over the world.
The coastline, a continuous series of inlets and coves, features must-see beaches at Vignanotica, Castello, San Lorenzo, the Bay of San Felice (with an “architello”, a natural stone archway over the sea), and Punta Lunga. After an afternoon on the beach, the smell of the sea also hangs over dinner at the trabucchi, traditional fishing huts, housing charming restaurants over the Adriatic.

Sono finalmente tornato a visitare la Puglia dopo 2 anni!! In questo primo video io e mia sorella andiamo alla scoperta del Gargano, staremo qui 4 giorni e cercheremo di scoprire quali sono le principali attrazioni da visitare in questa bellissima zona della Puglia!
Il Gargano corre per circa 200 km lungo il tratto costiero a nord est della regione. Incastonati lungo tutta la scogliera a strapiombo sul mare, si possono osservare e visitare graziosi borghi e incantevoli paesini avvolti dalla magia e da antiche leggende. A impreziosire il territorio sono le numerose grotte, i castelli, i santuari e gli scorci paesaggistici che regalano alla vista vere e proprie opere d’arte degne dei migliori artisti.

GARGANO RITORNO Ep. 01 – Piatti della tradizione a Foggia e Mattinata
Un territorio così piccolo ma che custodisce una grande ricchezza, tanto da consentire a ‘Un reporter in valigia’ di produrre una nuova stagione di episodi dedicati al #Gargano. Torna la web-serie di viaggi che va a caccia di storia nell’Italia più nascosta con cinque nuove puntate dedicate al promontorio d’Italia. Si parte con i piatti della tradizione di Foggia e di Mattinata, cittadina già raccontata nella precedente stagione e custode di nuovi aneddoti. È stato divertente tornare qua, perché molte persone che avevano visto la precedente stagione sul Gargano mi fermavano per strada. Per me è motivo di orgoglio perché significa che la gente si riconosce in questi racconti e che dunque l’identità del posto è stata rispettata.
Si tratta della prima volta che ‘Un reporter in valigia’ dedicata nuovamente una stagione allo stesso territorio. Il motivo è che tornandoci in vacanza, mi sono reso conto della densità di storie e di ricchezza del Gargano. Da un lato ho avuto occasione di fare tappa in mete che ancora non avevo frequentato, come Foggia e Peschici. Dall’altro è stato bello ritornare nei luoghi già visitati e notare come sono cambiati, mentre la bellezza è rimasta immutata.
