Massa is a town and comune in Tuscany, central Italy, the administrative center of the province of Massa and Carrara. It is located in the Frigido River Valley, near the Alpi Apuane, 5 km from the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Located in the south of the province, near the borders with the Province of Lucca, Massa is a coastal town by the Tyrrhenian Sea. The municipality borders with Carrara, Fivizzano, Minucciano (LU), Montignoso, Seravezza (LU), Stazzema (LU) and Vagli Sotto (LU).

In this Episode we visit Massa, the unknown little gem under the Apuan Alps in NW Tuscany next to its sister town Carrara. Its elegant piazzas reflect that once it was a capital. Michelangelo came to the area and visited the town to choose his marble as it is know to be particularly white.
Slabs waiting to be sold reflect that that this area is still the centre of the marble industry. So please come with us for a quick introduction to wet your appetite to visit this little treasure and after a walk around the city pop down to the Marina of Massa and take a walk on the pier, have a dip in the sea or watch the sunset while sipping a spritz.

Massa Marittima è una bellissima città piena di interessanti testimonianze artistiche medievali.
MASSA MARITTIMA ????, la più bella sei tu ! visita guidata alla più bella città d'arte della Maremma
???????? Massa Marittima è una cittadina di rara bellezza . In Toscana meridionale, non lontano dal mare, con alle spalle fitti boschi di colline metallifere che per secoli fecero ricca, prima questa comunità, e poi Siena.
Una gloriosa cattedrale è testimone di questa grande ricchezza, e i suoi gioielli d'arte sono stelle di prima grandezza nel patrimonio artistico del 200, 300. Duccio, Lorenzetti, , Goro di Gregorio, Giovanni Pisano.
La città vecchia, il borgo e città nuova, questi i terzieri che si sfidano nel Balestro ogni anno, ognuno con caratteristiche diverse.
Noi saliamo a città nuova, un quartiere nato nel 200 con un una regolare griglia di strade, passiamo sotto la fortezza senese del 1335 , e arriviamo a Sant'Agostino e al suo Chiostro.
Un ultimo sguardo panoramico dall'antico castello di Monteregio ci porta a volare su Massa fino al mare e all'Isola d'Elba

A glorious cathedral stands in the Scenic main Square, great example of wealth, and elegance artistic, it's jewels are works of Duccio, Lorenzetti,, Goro di Gregorio, Giovanni Pisano.
We go up to the new city, a district born in 1200 with a regular plan of streets, we pass under the Sienese fortress, and we arrive at Sant'Agostino church and its Cloister.
A great view from the ancient castle of Monteregio takes us to fly over Massa to the sea and the Island of Elba
