Government House in Sydney is the official residence of the Governor of New South Wales. It is located in the Royal Botanic Garden, near the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay.
The current Government House, known as the Gothic Revival Government House, was completed in 1845. It replaced an earlier Government House that was built in the early 19th century.
Government House serves as the official residence of the Governor of New South Wales, who is the representative of the Australian monarch. The Governor-General carries out various constitutional and ceremonial functions at the state level.
The building is designed in the Gothic Revival architectural style and features sandstone construction, turrets, and intricate detailing. It is considered an important example of colonial architecture.

Hornsby is a suburb in the Northern Sydney region of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-west of the Sydney central business district. It is the administrative centre of the local government area of Hornsby Shire.
Hornsby was originally inhabited by the Darug and GuriNgai people. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the early 1800s. The suburb was named after John Hornby, a British naval officer who was granted land in the area in 1815.
Hornsby has a population of over 60,000 people. The suburb is ethnically diverse, with over 200 different nationalities represented. The most common ancestries in Hornsby are Chinese, English, Australian, Indian, and Italian.
Hornsby is a well-established suburb with a wide range of amenities. The suburb has a number of schools, including Hornsby Girls High School (a well respected selective Public School which often ranks among NSW top 10 schools), and Barker College. There are also a number of hospitals in Hornsby, including Hornsby Hospital and Ku-ring-gai Hospital, as well as numerous private medical specialist practices.
Hornsby is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The suburb has a number of walking and mountain bike trails, including the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park Walk, the Hornsby River Trail, Old Man Valley Mountain Bike trail and the Bobbin Head Track. There are also a number of parks in Hornsby, including Lisgar Gardens, Ginger Meggs Park, the Hornsby Shire Council Chambers, and the Hornsby War Memorial.
Hornsby is a vibrant and diverse suburb with a lot to offer residents and visitors alike. The suburb is home to a thriving business community, a variety of cultural attractions, and a beautiful natural environment.
Westfield Hornsby shopping centre is one of the largest shopping centres in Sydney.
Hornsby railway station is a major transport hub, with services to Sydney, the Central Coast, and Newcastle.
