Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

Hidden high up in the hills in Koh Samui’s center, this garden is filled with unique statues and structures amid lush jungle surroundings.
8. Visit the Na Muang waterfalls
The Na Muang 1 waterfall is close to the parking lot and easily accessible on foot, while Na Muang 2 requires a short steep hike if you want to get closer to the falls.

Casino in Marino
The Casino at Marino is a folly located in Marino, Dublin, Ireland which was designed by Scottish architect William Chambers for James Caulfeild, the 1st Earl of Charlemont, starting in the late 1750s and finishing around 1775. It is a small and perfect example of Neo-Classical architecture, situated in the gardens of Marino House. Although proud of the design, Chambers was never able to visit the completed building, as he was constantly employed in England.
Widely regarded as the most important Neo-Classical building in Ireland, the Casino is actually quite small, measuring only fifty feet square to the outer columns. In plan, it takes the form of a Greek Cross with a pair of columns framing each projecting elevation. Seen from the outside, the building has the appearance of a single roomed structure, with a large panelled door on the north elevation and a single large window on each of the other elevations. This is all illusion, however, as it actually contains 16 rooms on three floors. Only two of the panels in the door open to allow entrance, and the panes of glass in the windows are subtly curved, disguising the partitioning which allows what looks like a single window to serve several separate rooms.
Many other tricks are used throughout the construction to preserve the apparent simplicity of the design. Four of the columns which surround the building are hollow and, with a length of chain dangling in each, allow rainwater to drain down. The Roman funerary urns on the roof (designed by James Gandon) are used as chimneys.The interior, by Simon Vierpyl, includes a basement level with a kitchen and associated rooms, a main floor with reception rooms and a top storey with servants' rooms and a State Bedroom. One of the rooms includes the Blue Salon. It includes a wooden parquet floor, with the Star of David in the centre, stucco work on the ceiling and a white marble fireplace. It contains some very fine plasterwork ceilings and some elaborate hardwood parquet floors. Originally the Casino was linked to Marino House by a tunnel, although this has been blocked off due to building works in the area.
The Casino is all that remains of the eighteenth-century garden demesne at Marino with the original Marino House demolished in the 1920's. Described by Charles T. Bowden in his Travel Guide of 1791 as a 'terrestrial paradise', the design of the landscape was inspired by Lord Charlemont's extensive Grand Tour.
The tunnel at the Casino was used as a shooting range by Irish revolutionaries including Michael Collins in the 1920s.

The Country of San Marino: A pilgrimage to the oldest republic in the World
The country of San Marino was named after a saint - St Marinus in latin or San Marino in Italian.
It is one of two countries that is surrounded by Italy on all sides.
San Marino was a layman, a deacon and a stonecutter. Marinus was born in Urbino but had to fled because he was hunted for being a Christian who defends and serves other Christians. In 301 AD, a cave in Monte Titano where the modern San Marino city is located became his home. That was the beginning of what is known as the oldest surviving republic of San Marino. San Marino's followers became a free commune of Christians eversince. The city of San Marino became a UNESCO world heritage site in 2008. It is the only country I know that has 2 leaders called Captains regent elected every 6 months.
