Cerveteri (auf der zweiten Silbe betont: Cervèteri) ist ein Ort in der italienischen Provinz Rom in der Region Latium mit 35.692 Einwohnern (Stand 31. Dezember 2009Cerveteri ist eine etruskische Gründung und hieß in der Antike (lateinisch) Caere, (etruskisch) Chaire, Cheri, Cisra, oder sehr wahrscheinlich Caisria und ist seit der Zeit der Villanovakultur besiedelt (auf der Pyrgi-Bilingue phöniz. kjsrj geschrieben). Die Griechen nannten die Stadt in unklarer Etymologie Agylla.[2] Caere war eine der bedeutendsten Städte der Etrusker, Handelsmetropole am Tyrrhenischen Meer mit drei Häfen und Mitglied im Zwölfstädtebund mit engen Verbindungen zu Griechenland. Blütezeit der Stadt war das 7. und 6. Jahrhundert v. Chr., im frühen 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. begann der Niedergang sowohl in wirtschaftlicher als auch kultureller Hinsicht. Im Jahr 353 v. Chr. wurde Caere von den Römern unterworfen.Tarquinia ist eine Stadt mit 16.577 Einwohnern (Stand 31. Dezember 2009) in der Provinz Viterbo in der italienischen Region Latium. Sie ist vor allem für ihre etruskischen Ausgrabungsstätten bekannt, die seit 2004 zum UNESCO-Welterbe gehören.Geographie [Bearbeiten]
Tarquinia liegt 87 km nordwestlich von Rom, 48 km südwestlich von Viterbo und 90 km südöstlich von Grosseto. Die Altstadt von Tarquinia liegt auf einem Hügel über der Küstenebene der Maremma Laziale, 5 km vom Tyrrhenischen Meer entfernt. Die modernen Wohngebiete erstrecken sich am Fuß des Altstadthügel bis zur Via Aurelia. Die Stadtteile Lido di Tarquinia, Marina Velca und Riva dei Tarquini sind beliebte Badeorte an der Küste. Die Stadtteile Lombardi, Marina Velca und Sant'Agostino liegen ebenfalls in der Küstenebene. Das Hinterland ist eine wellige, dünn besiedelte Hügellandschaft mit wenigen einzelstehenden Gehöften.
Die ehemaligen Salinen beim Stadtteil Lombardi wurden 2000 zum Naturreservat erklärt.[2] Im Gemeindegebiet mündet der Fluss Marta ins Meer.
Die Gemeinde liegt in der Erdbebenzone 3 (wenig gefährdet).[3]
Die Nachbargemeinden sind Allumiere (RM), Civitavecchia (RM), Montalto di Castro, Monte Romano, Tolfa (RM) und Tuscania.
Verkehr [Bearbeiten]
Tarquinia liegt an der Staatsstraße strada stadale SS 1 Via Aurelia , die entlang der Küste von Rom bis an die französische Grenze bei Ventimiglia führt. Es ist mit der Provinzhauptstadt Viterbo durch die strada stadale SS 1 bis verbunden. An der südlichen Stadtgrenze endet die Autobahn A12 Autostrada Azzurra, deren Weiterbau nach Norden geplant ist.
Außerdem hat Tarquinia einen Bahnhof an der Bahnstrecke Pisa--Rom, der an der Straße nach Lido di Tarquinia in 4 km Entfernung zum Stadtzentrum liegt.
Geschichte [Bearbeiten]
Tarquinia war eine der wichtigsten etruskischen Städte. Im Mittelalter wurde sie Stadtrepublik. Im 14. Jahrhundert verlor sie ihre Unabhängigkeit und gehörte seitdem zum Herrschaftsgebiet des Papstes.
Tarquinia ist der Herkunftsort des der Sage nach ersten etruskischen Königs von Rom, Lucius Tarquinius Priscus. Die Stadt soll von Tarchon gegründet worden sein.

Places to see in ( Olbia - Italy ) Isola Rossa
Isola Rossa is located in the north coast of Sardinia between Costa Paradiso and Castelsardo and is a fraction of Trinità d'Agultu and Vignola . At 4 km from the coast there is an island characterized by red porphyry rocks, hence the name of the village.
On the promontory where Isola Rossa stands stands a 16th century Spanish tower , part of the coastal defense system against the Saracen invasions. The village was founded as a fishing village at the beginning of the twentieth century and knows rapid development becoming a popular tourist resort. The wild nature of the coast is interrupted by beaches of fine white sand, such as Cala Canneddi , embellished with multicolored pebbles on the shore and La Marinedda a little further south, set among the red rocks of Punta Li Canneddi.
Cala Tinnari is a small pristine cove with the beach formed by the pebbles of Riu Pirastru, a river coming from Monte Tinnari, while Longa Beach is located right in the inhabited center of Isola Rossa, a long beach of pink sand and the clear sea. Slightly north to Costa Paradiso are the beaches of Li Cossi and Cala Sarraina , two suggestive coves between the pink trachyte reefs with a shallow sea of crystal clear water.
Off the town there is the homonymous small island 400 meters long and 200 meters wide. The coast is full of coves and rocky points such as Mount Tinnari , accessible with an excursion for everyone by a path through the Mediterranean. There are numerous trails for hiking and mountain biking up to Capo Testa and Santa Teresa di Gallura , to visit the fascinating views of the sea surrounded by the scents of the Mediterranean, and from the hamlet Paduledda you can get to the nuraghe Bastianazzu , or Nuraghe Paduledda.
At the marina of Isola Rossa you can rent dinghies and boats for an excursion along the coast to discover the many hidden coves, some accessible only by sea or on foot. The area lends itself to exploration for diving enthusiasts, given the rich flora and fauna of Isola Rossa and Costa Paradiso, and the practice of water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing.
