ESTE (Pd) - Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie

Santa Maria delle Grazie è una basilica in stile barocco situata nella città di Este in provincia di Padova. All'interno del santuario si trova l'immagine della Beata Vergine Maria delle Grazie, trasferita dal saccheggio di Costantinopoli e infine incoronata da Papa Pio VII il 10 dicembre 1822. Una chiesa nel sito, ma più piccola e con un diverso orientamento, fu eretta nel 1478, patrocinata dall'ultima volontà del principe Taddeo d'Este. La chiesa originaria si trovava fuori le mura della città in associazione con un convento domenicano. La chiesa fu ricostruita a partire dal 1717 con una sola navata. Nel 1736 iniziò la demolizione della vecchia chiesa, che portò alla scoperta di un affresco raffigurante la Pietà, divenuto motivo di venerazione. L'interno ospita, nell'abside, la pala dell'altare maggiore raffigurante un'icona bizantina della Madonna delle Grazie, donata ad Este dai Veneziani. Un coro in legno finemente intagliato è disposto sotto a forma di U. Lungo la navata si trovano nicchie con 15 sculture in pietra di santi, profeti e allegorie, scolpite da Pietro Zandomeneghi (1806-1866) e Valentino Panciera, detto il Besarel. Al centro della navata si trova un affresco della fine del XIX secolo raffigurante l'Incoronazione della Vergine di Giovanni Battista Baldi. Baldi dipinse anche i quattro evangelisti nei pennacchi della cupola, così come i medaglioni lungo la navata raffiguranti i dottori della chiesa e quattro allegorie delle virtù.

Hello Adelaide, we came for 48 hours and we had breakfast at The Middle Store, a new Lebanese concept where they serve beautiful Middle eastern inspired brunch, they made the Lebanese breakfast more modern.
For Lunch, we visited Marcellina, the oldest pizza bar in town, owned by a Lebanese family who moved to Australia in 1969.
A quick tour of the Migration Museum to know that the first Lebanese immigrant came to Adelaide in 1854.
Next, I discovered my favorite Ice Cream ever, Bottega Gelateria, the best gelato in Australia after 3 trips, was very excited to tour the laboratory with Chef Paolo from Italy.
At Zayt & Zaatar, 4 Lebanese heroes coming from Lebanese villages with smiles always on their faces are serving amazing dishes for non-Lebanese customers.
More than 50 persons came to the meet & greet in Adelaide, a city that gathers around 20,000 people from Lebanon, we took pictures, eat delicious food, and listened to success stories.
