In this video, I will share with you some of the best places to visit in east of Manila Metro Manila, the capital region of the Philippines, is a large metropolitan area that has several districts.
The region as a whole is geographically divided into four districts the 1st district is the central capital City of Manila the 2nd district located to the east the 3rd districts located north of the City and the 4th district covering South which includes the famous Makati City and Taguig.
Most tourists are familiar and usually visits the 1st district since the capital is located there as well as the 4th district with the famous Bonifacio Global City. Exploring the eastern district of Metro Manila which includes Pasig, Mandaluyong and San Juan offers another glimpse of the local life of Filipinos living in Metro Manila. Here are the best places to visit in Metro Manila’s eastern district
SM Megamall in Mandaluyong
SM Megamall is the second largest shopping mall in the Philippines and the fifth largest in the world. It is located in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Philippines. The mall has a maximum capacity of 4 million people.
Shoe Museum, Marikina Marikina City is best known as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines. It famous for its high-quality handcrafted shoes. The city produces 70% of shoes manufactured in the country. It is also the home of the world’s largest pair of shoes certified by the Guinness Book of World Records, and the infamous shoe collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

With the rain having finally eased after 3 weeks of torrential rain I decided to explore the area across the river in Mandaluyong. I always have to check the spelling of this place so that I say it correctly, ha. I didn’t really know much about Mandaluyong, apart from the fact that airbnbs listed online are cheaper over there.
Filipinos are welcome and warm people. Filipinos are often regarded as the most friendliest nation in Asia and nicest people in the world. English is widely spoken throughout the country. The Philippines is included in the top ten English speaking countries in the world. The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends, but so last century. When you're there you feel like you're stuck in an 80s/90s time warp with the old skool music blaring out and the outdated infrastructure.
Manila is a vibrant Asian city and favorite travel destination in Asia. Cebu has the best of both world - combining the city life of shopping malls and nightlife with beaches and paradise islands. The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery. The Philippines is a traveller’s paradise and regularly included in top ten favorite places to visit in Asia and affordable, favorite world holiday destination.
Many foreigners/expats choose the Philippines as the best country to retire in Asia and live in paradise. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in the world with its low cost of living and all year sunshine. Retiring in the Philippines is affordable on a budget of around $1000 pcm.

Quezon City, for the second straight year, has remained the wealthiest city in the country in 2021 with P451 billion worth of assets, the Commission on Audit (COA)'s Annual Financial Report.
Makati was the second richest city with P238.56 billion followed by Manila in third place with P65.25 billion. The three were also the richest cities in 2020, with Quezon City's assets at P452.333 billion, Makati's at P238.46 billion and Manila's at P76.548 billion.
In 2019, Makati was in first place (P233.78 billion), Quezon City was in second (P96.423 billion), and Manila was in third (P64.8 billion).
