Manakara to Fianarantsoa Train Journey, Madagascar, Africa
On vacation in madagascar I took the train between Manakara and Fianarantsoa. In this video you can see the beautiful scenery and the local people. There were only 9 tourists on the train. I ride in the Firstclass, goodwagon, locomotive, on front of the locomotive and on the flatbed.
The train needed 13 hours for the 163km track. The track is very old and not straight. The locomotive is an Alsthom AD16B with a 1600hp V16 diesel engine.
Everything is worn out and this is the last locomotive on that track and they started with 6 of them. The train is very essential for the area to get the goods to the market. There are not much decent roads in the area. So the train is a lifeline.

LA PIROGUE S'EST RETOURNÉE (Manakara - Madagascar)
Nous sommes enfin arrivés à Manakara après 18 heures de train à moins de 10 km/h de moyenne. Malheureusement, la tempête nous a suivi. Nous décidons d'aller voir les pêcheurs qui reviennent de la pêche sur une mer déchainée avant de reprendre la route direction Antananarivo.
Nous n'aurions pas pu faire ce voyage sans l'aide précieuse de l'agence Jacaranda de Madagascar.

Après un bref arrêt a Ambositra me voila donc sur la cote est, Manakara qui pour moi seras un coup de coeur ! Ville de pêcheur très paisible, j'aurais la chance de parcourir un canal en pirogue avec un guide, qui me montreras pas mal de chose, un village de pêcheur, un labo d'huiles essentielles, une plantation de vanille mais encore des pêcheurs en action... Ensuite direction Ranomafana, il y a la bas un parc national avec beaucoup de végétation en autre une foret tropical ! J'ai eu la chance de voir mes premiers lémuriens mais aussi pas mal d'autre animaux ou insectes...
Désolé mais pour Ranomafana j'avais complètement zapper de vidé la carte mémoire de ma caméra, du coup obliger de filmer au téléphone...`
