Arusha is a city in north eastern Tanzania and the capital of the Arusha Region, with a population of 416,442 plus 323,198 in the surrounding Arusha Rural District (2012 census).Located below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, Arusha has a temperate climate. The city is close to the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Mount Meru in the Arusha National Park and is thus considered the safari capital of Tanzania.

Arusha is a major international diplomatic hub. It hosts the East African Community. From 1994 to 2015, the city also hosted the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, but that entity has ceased operations. It is a multicultural city with a majority Tanzanian population of mixed backgrounds: indigenous African, Arab-Tanzanian and Indian-Tanzanian population, plus a small European and an American minority population. Religions of the Arushan population include Christianity, Islam, Sikhism and Hinduism. In 2018 it was declared Arusha would be the capital city of the proposed East African Federation as it was seen as a neutral city due to its significance to the whole of East Africa.... (wikipedia)

???? 2 Ladies ???? 12 MEN ???? 7 DAYS - Mt. KILIMANJARO - DAY 1 - Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Who wouldn't want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro? - Well - truth be told - most of you. But for some, read their BUCKET LIST and there you will find it - CLIMB Mt. KILIMANJARO. It certainly was on my bucket list.So last January I gave it a shot. When I say gave it a shot I don't mean that flippantly for trekking to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, if it is likely to succeed, requires a lot of preparation. That is what this blog is about - the preparation and the attempt to reach the top of Africa's highest mountain. Thank you for viewing

NGORONGORO CRATER - TANZANIA - GARDEN OF EDEN

Any Northern Safari in Tanzania is likely to end with the piece de la resistance known as the Ngorongoro Crater. This deep calderon of an anicent volcano is located in the Ngorongo Conservation Area. Some consider the crater to be the most remarkable landmark in all of Africa. Like no place on earth it is known for its diverse eco-systems and variety of animal life typical of an African safari.
I turn to Wiki for more detail. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 metres (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometres (100 square miles). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 metres (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high.[10][11][12] The elevation of the crater floor is 1,800 metres (5,900 feet) above sea level. The Crater was voted by Seven Natural Wonders as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in Arusha, Tanzania in February 2013.
Approximately 25,000 large animals, mostly ungulates, live in the crater. Large animals in the crater include the black rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis), the local population of which declined from about 108 in 1964-66 to between 11-14 in 1995, the African buffalo or Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer), and the hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius).[19] There also are many other ungulates: the blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) (7,000 estimated in 1994), Grant's zebra (Equus quagga boehmi) (4,000), the common eland (Taurotragus oryx), and Grant's (Nanger granti) and Thomson's gazelles (Eudorcas thomsonii) (3,000).[19] Waterbucks (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) occur mainly near Lerai Forest.[19] There are no topis (Damaliscus lunatus), oribis (Ourebia oribi), or crocodiles (Crocodylus niloticus).[9] Impala (Aepyceros melampus) are absent because the open woodland they prefer does not exist.[1] Giraffe also are absent, possibly because of a lack of browse species.[1] Tanzanian cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus raineyii), East African wild dog (Lycaon pictus lupinus), and African leopard (Panthera pardus pardus) are rarely seen.
