Madagascar 2018 | Tamatave & Foulpointe - Travel with Hich
This Video is a selection of memories during 4 days in the east coast of Madagascar, on the Indian Ocean. I took public transportation from Antananarivo to Tamatave and then from Tamatave to Foulpointe. Along the trip, the sceneries and the nature were amazing! I met some friends in Tamatave and we went in the search of the beautiful beaches, the amazing nature of this coast of Madagascar and some adrenaline :p .
Madagascar is one of the best place for nature, beaches and endemic species and wildlife lovers. I will try to visit more places in the island and share my journey with you :)

Canal de pangalanes Madagascar
The Canal des Pangalanes is a canal that consists of a series of natural rivers, waterways and human-made lakes that extends for over 645 kilometres (400 mi) and runs down the east coast of Madagascar from Mahavelona to Farafangana . It is used primarily for transportation and fishing, and it has unspoiled natural beaches that are visited by tourists. An initial area of the canal in Toamasina (unofficially and in French referred to as Tamatave) is straight, while subsequent areas have curves, lagoons, connected lakes and swamps.[3][4] Construction efforts began during the era of the Merina monarchy, with major expansion during the French colonial period between 1896 and 1904, and additional expansion during 1949–1957. Construction has included the manual cutting and removal of outcrops to connect previously unconnected areas.

A wonderful holiday in the Middle-South part of Madagascar.
In this video there are some videos that I made with my action cam.
We saw all the biodiversity of this unique isle.
Any type of landscape: desert, steppe, mountain, tropical rainforests, etc.
Animals seen: lemurs, fossa, chameleons, bugs, butterflies, birds, crocodiles, bats, whales, fish and others.
Seen a lot of species of Baobab that are endemic of this stunning isle.

plage paradisiaque à Tuléar (Madagascar) : la baie d'Ifaty
Tuléar est réputé pour ses plages paradisiaques, et particulièrement la baie d'Ifaty. Certains feront des heures, voir des jours de voyage juste pour connaître ces petits coins de paradis. Alors nous avons eu envie de vous faire découvrir un échantillon de ses magnifiques endroits.
Madiorano (qui signifie 'l'eau propre) était notre plage préférée. Malheureusement elle vient d'être privatisée. Alors nous allons devoir partir à la recherche d'un autre endroit à proximité qui offre le même calme et le même cadre.
J'aime l'ambiance que l'on retrouve sur les plages. Même si des fois les vendeurs sont un peu lourds pour nous autre français, j'avoue qu'il est quand même appréciable de manger du poisson fraîchement pêché et grillé sous vos yeux ou bien de déguster des coquillages et fruits de mer les pieds dans le sable.
A Tuléar, la sortie à la plage représente toujours une grande expédition ; et oui, ces sorties sont une grande fête pour les locaux (vu qu'ils n'y vont qu'une à deux fois par an). Alors on ne part jamais sans la bière locale, les brochettes (et forcément le charbon…), les grandes marmites, bref, on emporte toute la maison même si au final on mange les poissons et coquillages vendus sur la plage.
Alors venez non pas seulement découvrir les paysages de carte-postale qu'offre la baie d'Ifaty de Tuléar, mais surtout, toute l'ambiance locale si typique et appréciable.

Madagascar | Famadihana à Foulpointe
À Madagascar, le famadihana ou retournement des morts (2ème enterrement) a traditionnellement lieu plusieurs années après le décès. Cette cérémonie typiquement malgache peut durer plusieurs jours, baignés d'une ambiance de fête.

Bubonic Plague Case in Mahavelona, Madagascar
On January 15, 2007 I went out on a day-trip to Mahavelona, Madagascar with two U.S. CDC doctors and one Malagasy doctor for a reported bubonic plague case. The patient was a small Malagasy boy (about 12 years old). The boy's parents are also in the video. The boy's parents granted permission to shoot the video.
I was working in Madagascar on a three-week assignment with a U.S. NGO in Antananarivo. From what I recall, the village of Mahavelona was about an hour ride west, northwest of Antananarivo, towards the middle of Madagascar.
