Exploring Bantayan Island by Public Transport from Santa Fe to Madridejos, Cebu, Philippines.
I spent a day exploring Bantayan Island by public transportation, travelling on multicabs and jeepneys going from Santa Fe to Bantayan Town, visiting the Church of St Peter & Paul, seeing its spectacular recently painted ceiling mural, then a jeepney to Madridejos to Kota Park where a Talent Show was taking place. After 4pm I headed back to Bantayan to catch the sunset there.
Bantayan Island is an island located in the Visayan Sea, Philippines. It is situated to the west of the northern end of Cebu island, across the Tañon Strait. Bantayan island is made up of three municipalities consisting of Santa Fe in the south-east corner, Bantayan in the west/centre of the island and Madridejos in the north-west. Good beaches can be found south of the ferry port around Santa Fe and at Patao and Madridejos in the north.
The island area is 108.77 square kilometers (42.00 sq mi). The coast of Bantayan and surrounding islands mostly alternates between mangal and coconut palm trees; the elevation is mostly below 10 meters (30 ft), with only one taller hill, at 26 meters (90 ft), in barangay Atop-atop. Because of the shallow slope on the shelf, the intertidal area can be quite extended, leading to rocky and muddy shallows at low tide. This means that places with a sandy shore – a beach – are infrequent.

The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends.

How To Get Here?
Bantayan Island is located in Northern Tip of Cebu Province. To get here from Manila (or other point of origin), do the following:
1. Book a flight to Cebu
2. Ride a taxi outside Mactan Airport heading to North Bus Terminal (Fare: 215*)
3. Ride the Bus going to Hagnaya Port (Note: If lucky, there are buses that goes directly to Sta. Fe Port) (Fare: 290*)
4. In Hagnaya Port, ride a ferry going to Sta. Fe (Fare: 300*)
5. From Sta. Fe Port, ride a tricycle to your hotel

Of all the trips I had, this is the most special.

There are lots things to do in Barangay Maalat , Madridejos , Bantayan Island, Cebu.
There are lots of Karaoke Bars , Barbeque place , Korean Restaurants , some snacks to buy just beside the road , Milktea Shop and alot more.
You can just bring some snacks and chill in the baywalk or go for a swim .
We also saw some rooms when we were there , I'm not sure if it's rooms for rent or not. But I will go back again soon because I'm very curious about it and also maybe some people might need some rooms to stay after drinking and enjoying karaoke. I will maybe do a part 2 for the newly opened tourist destination in Barangay Maalat .

It is one of the three municipalities that make up the island of Bantayan, which lies to the west of the northern tip of Cebu. Madridejos is bordered to the north and west by the Visayan Sea, to the east is the town of Daanbantayan and to the south is the town of Bantayan.
There is a light station about 50 metres (160 ft) north of the mean highwater mark at Kota point

Old Kota Fort - Built in 1790's by first Settler Gabriel Lazaro Mangubat, Founder of Lawis Government, served as a watchtower and refuged of the local inhabitants each time Moro Pirates attacked and plundered towns along sea cost.
The fort is made of corals, stones, sand, egg white, sugar and limestone (apog).

Top 18 Tourist Attractions in Bantayan Island Cebu Philippines | Part 3
Beautiful Bantayan Island Cebu is one of the best tourist spots in Cebu. In this vlog I look at the top 18 attractions in Bantayan Island (part 3). If you haven't seen my other videos please check part 1 and 2 out. I look at the German ruins and cliff diving, one of the most popular things to do in Bantayan Island. Also with some drone footage. If you are looking for where to eat in Santa Fe, I look at some of Bantayan's food delicacies such as dried fish (danggit) and their famous bbq Taguangkan. The island is famous for delicious and affordable seafood. I look at some of the best places to eat in Bantayan, including the popular MJ Square. I also checked out Street food, pop up coffee and Kermits Cafe in Bantayan town. We rate the best pizza in Santa Fe.
There are a number of famous caves on the island - Ogtong Cave and the one at Nature Park (Santo Niño). We take a dip in their cool waters. One of the top places to visit in Bantayan is St. Peter and Paul church and parish museum, an excellent place to visit. Kiteboarding is popular during the windy months. Maalat Baywalk was a fun place to check out. Visit Kota park to see an old fort, the pier and watch beautiful sunsets. I also look at a less known tourist attraction, the fort in Santa Fe. Hire a scooter, prices range from 200 per day +. Then we sum up what a guide to Bantayan for a 2 day itinerary. This is the ultimate guide to this awesome island in the Philippines.

A Secret Sunset Spot in the Island of Bantayan
Do you know that in the island of Bantayan has a secret spot to see the breathtaking view of the sunset?
Bantayan Island is known for its white sand beaches and crystal clear water, aside from that, about 35 minutes away going North from Sta. Fe is the island's treasure and safe keeper. Known for its geographical location as the Northern most tip of Cebu, the town of Madridejos holds a secret spot to watch a very epic sunset moment.
This secret spot is named Kota Heritage Park. The park has the 187-meter long foot bridge where you can have a therapeutic stroll up to the watch tower. The watch tower has a breath taking view deck where you can experience the epic sunset which is also perfect for meditating and/or relaxation.
On the other hand, this secret spot is also rich in history. Right near to the entrance of the heritage park lies the Kota of Lawis (Lawis was the old name of Madridejos), it was used as an early warning system during the old times where local watchmen has to check if there are any ships or vessels coming to the island.
