Machala, capital of the El Oro Province nearby the Gulf of Guayaquil in the Pacific region of Ecuador. With roughly 550.000 inhabitants in the whole metropolitan region, it is the fourth biggest city in Ecuador. Machala is often referred to “Capital Bananera del mundo” or in English the Banana Capital of the World. As of its important role in the distribution and export of bananas in the world. Furthermore Machala is a relatively safe city. It has no big historic centres like Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca, Riobamba, .. but it has definitely many turistic attractions & it is a beautiful city.

Nos detuvimos en la playa Los Frailes... Considerada por muchos la mejor playa de Ecuador por su arena blanca y especies animales que ahí habitan, esta reserva nos encantó! Today, I am sharing 10 things I wish I had known before moving to Ecuador, Quito, to be specific! We are definitely in the rainy season here, so many of my points are very seasonal/weather specific. It might also be because I am literally cold while writing this post. Although the things I mentioned have made me think twice about my life here in Ecuador, my thoughts have only made me more resilient and excited to continue my journey here. Here David presents a video to Parque Seminario, better known as Iguana Park. Where locals and tourists come to hang out and relax, you can enjoy the park's green surroundings, chill atmosphere, and local wildlife. Find squirrels, birds and turtles in this park... and of course- iguanas. Pick them up, feed them, show them off to your friends, but be careful, they may even jump on you!
