Marburg, Germany in Snow 4K - A unique fairytale medieval town in Germany
Today's tour is in Marburg, Germany. Marburg is, quite literally, a fairy-tale town. The Brothers Grimm studied here from 1802-06, and were so enchanted by the town’s medieval flair, cobbled alleys, stunning architecture and lush countryside, that they weaved elements of this town in their famous fairy tales. Painter Otto Ubbelohde also drew inspiration from this town while working on his illustrations for the Grimm fairy tales. Marburg is an important stop in Germany’s Fairy Tale Route, and offers several faity-tale-themed tours to visitors.

A Quick Trip to Friedberg, Germany
In this video I share some of the highlights of my quick trip to Friedberg, Germany.
Friedberg is a small town in Germany 25-kilometers away from Frankfurt am Main.
I visited Friedberg during the middle of August and it was surprisingly quiet. There were hardly any tourists around and my girlfriend that I had the town to ourselves to explore.
After an hour there wasn't much else to do in Friedberg so we continued on with the rest of our Central European and German road trip.

Lahn - 151 Kilometer im Kajak/Kanu von Lollar nach Lahnstein/Koblenz - mit Schiffstunnel Weilburg
Die Lahn gilt als der am besten ausgebauteste Kanu-Wanderfluss Deutschlands. Nahezu überall wurde an uns Paddler gedacht, kein einziges Wehr muss umtragen werden - und das immerhin auf einer Strecke von 151 Kilometern. In sieben Tagen sind wir die Lahn von Rutterhausen, Lollar bis zur Mündung in den Rhein bei Koblenz gepaddelt. Eine tolle Tour, die vor allem mit etlichen Burgen und Schlössern an den Ufern für Abwechslung sorgt.
Die ganze Strecke dabei waren:
Katrin (Helmi Sport Touring), Julia (Prijon Seayak 500 LV), Maik (Prijon Seatron GT) und ich, Philipp in meinem TIger (Prijon MIllenium Evo).

I had a quiet wander around this historic medieval town. This town in Hessen is called Friedberg. And everything you will see today is because of the humanity of the people who negotiated and saved it on the 29th of March 1945. This town has the most incredible sights to see. It´s a treasure trove for people who are interested in German history and culture.
My meditative videos show a calming and artistic view of the places I visit and the quiet, peaceful wanders I take through them. Medieval villages, picturesque cottages, beautiful cities. Relax and escape with me from the busy bustling world to my dreamy and serene slow living way of seeing my surroundings. Gießen is a university in the Landkreis Giessen in Mittelhessen and with 90,131 inhabitants (31 December 2020) the largest city of Hesse and one of the State Statistics Offices of the Landes. As the seat of the Gießen district and the regional district, it is the Mittelhessens administrative center, a local traffic police station and a regional center.
Within a kilometer west of Wetzlar in the Lahn-Dill district, the city has an agglomeration room with about 200,000 inhabitants, in the vicinity of the region comes to approx. 275,000 entrants. In other directions, the city of Marburg (Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf) is located, Fulda (Landkreis Fulda) is located in the Vogelsbergs, Siegen (Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein) in Southwestfalen, Friedberg (Hessen) and Bad Nauheim in Bad Limburg. Dear friends, we bring you this time 3 videos recorded in Herborn, Germany. This Medieval town is located in the district of Hesse #hesse
Before World War I, it was granted its own title as Nassauisches Rothenburg. The symbol or mascot of this town is a bear. Scenic attractions include its half-timbered houses; Herborn is located on the German Timber-Frame Road. Herborn hosted the 26th Hessentag state festival in 1986, and the 56th Hessentag in 2016.

The Medieval Town of Marburg Germany
On this episode of Searching for History, we take a look at some video footage and photographs from a 2015 trip to Germany. In this video we visit the old town of Marburg, Germany. Marburg is a university town in the German state of Hesse, located next to the River Lahn, about 60 miles north of Frankfurt. Originally, Marburg served as the capital of the landgraviate of Hessen-Marburg since 1222. The town developed at the crossroads of two important trade routes, linking Cologne to Prague and the North Sea to the Alps. The town originated in the early 9th century. Join us as we stroll through Marburg’s old town and we walk up to the Lutheran parish church (Saint Mary's Church) and Marburg’s castle, the Landgrafenschloss.

Marburg: A Beautiful German fairy-tale town || Walking Tour ????♀️
Marburg is one of the smaller towns in Hesse, Germany. If you want to find out about fairy tales, Marburg and the surrounding area are the right places to go. Even the Brothers Grimm were impressed by the medieval look of our university city, with its old half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, steep steps, romantic market, and impressive Castle of the Landgrave. Follow in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm as you walk through the magical city of Marburg. During their student days between 1802 and 1806, this fairy-tale backdrop inspired Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm when they came up with ideas for Children's and Household Tales.
The main places to go and things to do in Marburg are all around Marktplatz, a square with cafes, restaurants, and small shops. The Marburg Landgrave Castle with its cultural history museum is particularly worth a visit. Along with the Elisabeth Church, it is one of the most important buildings in Marburg. From Marktplatz, you can also go to the Marburg castle, although it is a steep climb up. In the area of the castle, though, you can find one red shoe that represents Aschenputtel (Cinderella). The castle is also a museum, and since it's at the top of Marburg, you'll be able to see a wide view.
While traveling to Marburg don't forget to visit the Philipps University of Marburg. The Philipps University of Marburg (also known as the Alma Mater Philippina) comprises 16 departments with facilities spread across the city of Marburg. It was founded in 1527 by Landgrave Philip the Magnanimous as a Protestant university, making it the oldest university in Hesse.

Wetzlar, GERMANY ???????? 2021 | Walking tour | 4K/60fps
Wetzlar is a city in the state of Hesse, Germany. A former free imperial city, it gained much of its fame as the seat of the Imperial Supreme Court (Reichskammergericht) of the Holy Roman Empire. Located 51 kilometers north of Frankfurt, Wetzlar straddles the river Lahn and is on the German Timber-Frame Road, which passes mile upon mile of half-timbered houses. Historically, the city has acted as the hub of the Lahn-Dill-Kreis on the north edge of the Taunus. Tourists know the city for its ancient town and its medieval Catholic/Protestant shared cathedral of St. Mary.
Notable architectural features include the Eisenmarkt and the steep gradients and tightly-packed street layout of a medieval town. The building of the sandstone cathedral commenced in the 12th century in Romanesque style. In the later Middle Ages the construction continued under a master plan in Gothic style. The church was never finished—one steeple still remains uncompleted. The cathedral suffered heavy damage in the Second World War from aerial bombing, but restoration took place in the 1950s. On the outskirts of town along the river stand the ruins of several stone towers.

Entlang der Lahn - Zwischen Natur und Tradition | WDR Reisen
Eine Tour entlang der Lahn ohne Auto - kein Problem für Stefan Pinnow: Er wandert, radelt und paddelt, er nimmt den Zug, den Dampfer und das Segelflugzeug, er fährt mit dem Pferdeomnibus, einer Grubenbahn und sogar mit einem „schwimmenden Donut“.
Stationen seiner Reise sind die Studentenstadt Marburg samt Schloss, Limburg mit dem berühmten Dom und Bad Ems, wo schon Könige und Dichter kurten. Stefan Pinnow stellt außerdem die schönsten Burgen und Schlösser entlang der 245 Kilometer langen Lahn vor, besichtigt das Erzbergwerk Fortuna und die Kubacher Kristallhöhle, bedient die Schleuse im einzigen Schifffahrtstunnel Deutschlands und erkundet die steile Ruppertsklamm bei Lahnstein.
