With restrictions easing, the opportunity was taken to rack off out of Sydney and return to the Hunter for some coal, and grain, rail action.
Only a brief, but very worthwhile, Saturday morning visit. As usual, the rail traffic came thick and fast.

The Emerald Pool - My Favourite Central Coast Bushwalks
This circuit track of approx 10.8kms is an enjoyable walk through Popran National Park - the prize being the Emerald Pool on Hominy Creek. The pool is deep, clear (usually) and cold but great for a swim on a hot day. There are also a couple of side trips along the way to the 248 Trail and Mt Olive which both have beautiful views. Spectacular flowering shrubs and Waratah flowers are a special feature at the right time in spring.

Hiking on the NSW Central Coast: Mount Wondabyne Loop
I went hiking on the NSW Central Coast and completed the Mount Wondabyne Loop. It's a 13-km moderate hike with some of the most beautiful beautiful views in the Brisbane Water National Park. From the Staples Lookout, there is a 2-km walk along Woy Woy Road which is not very pleasant because of the cars zooming past but after that, it's an easy fire trail. There is a bit of a scramble to go to the top of Mount Wondabyne but the views make it all worthwhile. On the way down and back to Staples Lookout, you need to turn around to see the beautiful silhouette of Mount Wondabyne.

Abseiling Kinnanes Falls on 28 February 2015 with the Brisbane Bushwalking Club. Three drops including a 50m and 60m. Lots of water after recent heavy rains. Fantastic day.
CFCLA Charter featuring 4403 and CF's
On the 2nd of February, 2012, ARHS (ACT division) 4403 ran from Goulburn to Sydney, and then to Newcastle picking up CFCLA's brand new CF4405 and CF4406, to commission the loco's in Sydney. The Second shot is actually at Lisarow before hand of SSR's Newstan Coalie. The next shot was at Point Clare, with the 44 rushing through. My last shot was taken at Narara in the freezing cold ran. Enjoy the video.

CFCLA tour featuring CF's and ARHS's 4403- 2/2/12
On Thursday the 2nd of Febuary, CFCLA ran a small tour from Sydney to Newcastle for the commisioning of their brand new CF class locomotives. The train is first seen at Point Clare hauled by 4403 on hire from the ARHS heading towards Newcastle. The next shot is of CF4405 and CF4406 leading the train at Narara with 4403 on the back. the next shot is up close with the train in Gosford sidings holding for an hour. The final shot is the spectacular journey through Cowan with, thanks to a talk with the driver at Gosford, lots of horns, waving and ditchlights flashing.
Also included in this video is a shot of a personal favourite freight of mine- SSR coal train hauled by C, G, and 2 Jumbos between Lithgow and Newcastle- filmed at Lisarow before we headed off to Point Clare.

Booti Hill and Wallis Lake Loop Walk
Here's a nice 6.5km walk starting at The Ruins camping ground at Booti Booti National Park, climbing over Booti Hill and then down to the lake and along it for a few kilometres before crossing over the The Lakes Way and back to the camping ground.
