Münster is a city in western Germany. It’s known for the 13th-century St. Paulus Dom cathedral, built in the Gothic and Romanesque styles. Prinzipalmarkt square is framed by gabled houses, the Gothic city hall, and late medieval St. Lamberti Church.
The gardens of baroque Schloss Münster palace include greenhouses of the Botanical Garden. The Pablo Picasso Art Museum features a collection of the painter’s lithographs.

Another beautiful German city to add to the list! We got the chance to explore Münster (sometimes written Muenster), a historic university town full of life, charm, and bikes!
Known for the gorgeous Altstadt (Old Town), Rathaus (Town Hall), and Münster Dom (Cathedral), Münster is a city that we absolutely loved exploring. We even got the chance to have a coffee and lunch near the the main street/marketplace (Prinzipalmarkt) just taking in the city life!

Münster in 5 minutes ???? Beautiful student city with a historic city center
Münster is a destination for young people. The city has been honoured several times for its high quality of life. Most people travel here by bike, for example on the five-kilometer-long promenade or around the lake Aasee.
The historic city center around Prinzipalmarkt is a popular postcard image. Münster's historic town hall is known as one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Germany. St. Lamberti is the city's landmark. From the church tower, Münster's tower keeper, Martje Saljé, watches over residents and visitors.
The people of Münster are very warm and cheerful. You can feel this throughout the city. Just outside the city is the Allwetterzoo. Almost 3,000 animals live here.

Our visit to the city of Münster in Germany
A quick look at a historic city, in the northwest of Germany, in the Westphalia region, that is full of charm & culture.
Our walking tour is a look at the highlights of Münster from the Rathaus with its Hall of Peace (Friedenssaal), across to 13th-century Münster Dom, also known as St. Paulus Cathedral, with its 16th-century Astronomical Clock that we can hear chiming. A short stroll before we reach the Überwasserkirche, and the streets that double as the set of the popular German TV detective series “Wilsberg”.
We then explore the lanes of Kreuzstraße with its many bars before heading back to St Lamberti Church, and discover more of the city including stunning views from café “1648” before checking out the exquisite interior of Clemenskirche.
We then return to Prinzipalmarkt and onto the Carillon (glockenspiel) on Nonhoff House. Then we touch on the places of interest you will want to visit if you are staying in Münster, such as the LWL - Museum for Art and Culture, Stadtmuseum Münster and the Pablo Picasso museum.
We end up our visit with the Tower Keeper of Münster and climbing the 300 steps of St Lamberti Church, but it was well worth it.

Tecklenburg im Teutoburger Wald - Wandern auf dem Tecklenburger Bergpfad
Am Nordrand des Münsterlandes an der Landesgrenze zwischen Nordrhein-Westfalen und Niedersachsen erheben sich der Teutoburger Wald und das Wiehengebirge aus der westfälischen Ebene. Oben auf dem Kamm des Teutoburgerwaldes liegt das kleine Örtchen Tecklenburg. Von dort lassen sich weite Ausblicke ins Münsterland und ins Wiehengebirge genießen. Zahlreiche Wanderwege führen über Berg und Tal durch den Teutoburger Wald und das Tecklenburger Land. Der Tourismusverband nennt sie werbewirksam Teutoschleifen.
An einem sonnigen Maitag erwandeten wir die Teutoschleife mit dem einladenden Namen 'Tecklenburger Bergpfad'. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht: Über Berg und Tal führte uns eine vierstündige Wanderung von Tecklenburg nach Brochterbeck. Aussichts- und abwechslungsreich war es und wir waren zufrieden. Für den Hinweg nach Brochterbeck wählten wir die Talvariante. Auf dem Rückweg nach Tecklenburg wanderten wir auf dem Hermannsweg, der hier als Kammweg ein sehr entspanntes Laufen ermöglicht.

Germany - Northern German Countryside and Salzwedel
This video shows recordings of a tour through Northern Germany by car and by bicycle. The main site visited was Salzwedel near the former border between West and East Germany. Salzwedel is located on the German Timber-Frame Road. It was first mentioned as a town in 1233. In the Middle Ages Salzwedel belonged to the Hanseatic League. In 1943 a female concentration camp was built a subcamp in Salzwedel, capable of holding more than 1,000 female prisoners. Eventually control of the city was turned over to the Soviet Red Army, causing Salzwedel to become part of the German Democratic Republic. On November 9, 1989 the East-West German border crossing near Salzwedel was opened.

The city center of Münster is littered with numerous fashion shops, department stores, exclusive furniture and interior design shops as well as local decoration and art suppliers. There are several shopping streets right in the city center: Salzstraße, Ludgeristraße and Prinzipalmarkt are some of the best-known.
Münster (Eng also: Muenster) is a city North Rhine-Westphalia. It originated as a monastery founded in 794. She has a population of 314,319 in 2019 and is a part of the metropolitan region (Enschede, Hengelo, Gronau, Osnabrück). The city is known as the cycling capital in western Germany.

Osnabrück / Germany is a city in the state Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen). The city is home to around 165,000 people with 28.000 Students. Historically Osnabrück was the place where the 30 Years War (1618–48) ended by hosting the diplomatic negotiations leading to the Peace of Westphalia.
This pleasant city has several sights like the St. Peter's Cathedral - the Münster, where we start our tour. After one round at the Domplatz we see the inner city with the Historic City Hall (Historisches Rathaus Osnabrück – Rathaus des westfälischen Friedens). Now it's time to check the nicely walkable old town.
We walk to the western side of the city center via the Heger Tor, pass the Felix Nussbaum House / Museum of Cultural History. Later we return to the Domplatz and see more of the central city with several picturesque half-timbered houses.
Getting out of the city we pass the Ledenhof. As a final stop we see the Palace of Osnabrueck (Schloss Osnabrück). Our tour ends at the palace gardens on this late summer day.

Walking in MÜNSTER / Germany ????????- 4K 60fps (UHD)
Münster / Germany (engl. also: Muenster) is a city North Rhine-Westphalia. It originated as a monastery founded in 794. Now Münster is known for its university and as an administration centre. The city has a13th-century St. Paulus Dom cathedral and a reconstructed city center with the historical city hall and the Prinzipalmarkt.
We start our Münster tour at the central train station which is located East of the city center. We walk around 5 minutes westwards and see the Dom another 5 minutes later. The nice Prinzipalmarkt is busy on this September afternoon.
We walk further West and finally up North to see the outskirts of the center. In the more residential Buddenturm area we see more of the non-touristic side of Münster before we return to the cathedral. The eastern area of Münster with Alter Steinweg has many restaurants.
We complete our route by returning to the central train station and end our autumn / fall walking tour through one of the nicest cities in Germany.

Bad Essen, August 2022
Gemütlich ist es in Bad Essen, auf jeden Fall ein Ausflugstipp. Eine Wanderung durch das Wiehengebiehe und die Besteigung des neu restaurierten Aussichtturms kann ich ebenfalls empfehlen.
Der Spielplatz im Zentrum ist toll. Ihn könnt ihr in meinem Musikvideo „Piepmarie Das bin ich“ bestaunen. Die gelben Stühle haben mittlerweile Kultstatus!

Osnabrück, Germany | My Trip to Lovely Osnabruck
Traveling between Amsterdam and Hamburg I decided to make a quick stop in the lovely small town of Osnabrück in Germany.
I had a 2 hour time between my train connection so I spent it exploring the old town and surrounding area.
Unfortunately it was raining the entire time so I didn't get to check out everything I wanted to but I definitely hope to visit Osnabrück again in the future and spend some more time exploring!
