Walking in Enköping - Sweden’s Most Central Town (4K)
Walking tour in The Swedish small town Enköping.
The municipality of Enköping is located by Lake Mälaren and with three international airports within an hour's travel time from the central town. Good communications with Stockholm, Uppsala and Västerås mean a convenient commuting distance. In addition to this, Enköping has 38 cities within a twelve-mile radius, which has given rise to the name Sweden's most central town.

Walking in Lidköping / Power Big Meet july 2022
Lidköping is the oldest town on the shores of Lake Vänern. This small town has a population of around 23.000 inhabitants. The oldest known mentioning of Lidköping dates back to 1446 when the town received its charter. With the charter, it became the first town along the shores of Lake Vänern. Lidköping’s town status was severely contested after a fire devastated the town in 1533.
The population was in the early 19th century 1377 inhabitants and it grew to 5452 to the year 1900. The 19th century also saw another devastating fire and the opening of the railway. Industrialization sped up at the beginning of the 20th century with several large industries opening up.
Rörstrand is a famous porcelain manufacturer and the second oldest porcelain trademark in Europe. Its plates are annually used at the Nobel dinner. At Rörstrand Center you find shops, restaurants, and the Rörstand Museum. The museum showcases 290 years of the porcelain history.
Rörstrand had initially its production in Stockholm, but it was first moved to Gothenburg and later to Lidköping in the 1930s. The factory was closed in 2005 when production was moved abroad.
The Old Town Hall is the most iconic building in Lidköping. It was originally a hunting mansion on the island Kållandsö and it was moved to Lidköping in the 1670s. It was a move that took four years. The building has had several uses until 1960 when it was destroyed by a fire. It was, however, reconstructed only a year later and today it houses the tourist office and café.
The Old Town Hall is located at the Square of the New Town. The square houses markets a few days a week and is the centre of the town.

Läckö Castle's Gardens - Lidköping, Sweden - 4K

Läckö Castle is best known as De la Gardie’s magnificent baroque mansion on the shores of Lake Vänern, but it is much older. In 1298, Brynolf Algotsson, the bishop of Skara, laid the foundations for a fortified castle here. Probably no more than a mound surrounding a few simple houses, nevertheless strategically located in the middle of his diocese.
The castle was confiscated from the church and taken over by the crown in 1527. It was granted to Count Jacob De la Gardie in 1615 for services to the nation. His son Magnus Gabriel was only 30 when he took over the title and estates. He began an extensive extension of the castle, and it is essentially Magnus Gabriel’s palace we see today.
