Lianzhou City, a county-level city under the administration of Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwestern part of Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, at the upper reaches of the Xiaobei River, adjacent to Yangshan County in the southeast, connected to Liannan County in the southwest, connected to Lanshan and Jianghua Counties in Hunan Province in the northwest, bordering Linwu County in Hunan Province in the north, and leaning on the territory of Yizhang County in Hunan Province in the northeast, with a total area of 2,663.33 square kilometres.
Lianzhou City is located at the southern foot of Mengzhu Ling in the middle of the South Ridge, with mountains to the west, north and east, and a slightly lower central part, all in a hilly area. It belongs to the central subtropical monsoon climate zone, which is influenced by monsoons throughout the year. The rivers in the territory belong to the Lianjiang River system, a tributary of the Beijiang River (a tributary of the Pearl River).
As of 2014, Lianzhou City has 10 towns and 2 ethnic townships. According to the data of the seventh census, the resident population of Lianzhou City was 377,220 as at 00:00 on 1 November 2020.

現轄10個鎮2個民族鄉，全市總面積2663平方公里。
連州是廣東省歷史文化名城。西漢初（公元前183年）立縣，隋朝開皇十年（公元590年）建州，稱連州。明洪武二年(1369)三月，桂陽州省入連州，1912年改為連縣，1994年4月經國務院批准撤縣設市並改名為連州。

I booked a ten minute flight experience with Xiangtai Airlines' Diamond Star from the Lianzhou General Aviation Airport in Doumen District, Zhuhai, Guangdong. This consisted of one time around the traffic pattern. Before being able to depart on this short flight, we faced a ground delay of around twenty minutes due to an inbound training flight. This was a good time to chat with the flight instructor, who had completed part of his training in Canada. Sorry no inflight video, I was too busy flying the plane.
The airport is located in a rural area and the small terminal has some exhibits about Chinese aviation history and famous Chinese aviators, as well as an extensive model collection. There are at least two flight training companies operating from this airport, Xiangtai Airlines and Aviclub, with Diamond and Cirrus aircraft respectively.
