We are a couple living in Lombok, Indonesia. Coco is from Kuta, Lombok and Emily is English/Australian. We met in 2014 and have been living in Lombok for 9 years. Kuta, Lombok is our home, and it is one of - if not THE - most beautiful places we have ever been; here we will tell you why, and let you in on our top 10 recommended things to do while staying here.
Lombok is the island to the East of Bali, but actually the two are very different islands, they have different languages and religions, as well as different traditions. Kuta is a relaxed beach town but is developing fast, particularly since the new Moto Grand Prix track has been built. Kuta has so many amazing things to see and do, as well as having the nicest, friendliest locals. I would recommend hiring a scooter or a car, to give you more freedom to explore the island. Kuta Lombok is great to visit all year round. Rainy season is from about Nov- Feb, but it doesn’t rain all day every day, and the rainy season is actually the best time of year for surfing. This blog post is just about KUTA (south) Lombok and not all of Lombok. We will post another blog about the top ten things to do in all of LOMBOK.

Mandala Suci Wenara Wana, or well known as Ubud Monkey Forest, is the sanctuary and natural habitat of the Balinese long-tailed Monkey, scientific name Macaca fascicularis. It is located at Padangtegal Ubud, Bali. About 1049 monkeys live in this sanctuary.
Denpasar is the capital city and main hub of the Indonesian province of Bali, in the southern part of the island. Laid-back Sanur Beach on the east coast offers sunrise views. The nearby Pura Blanjong Temple contains a stone pillar with a 10th-century inscription. The Bali Museum displays a large collection of Balinese cultural artifacts, including traditional costumes and religious items.
Canggu is a resort village on the south coast of the Indonesian island of Bali. It's surrounded by terraced rice paddies and known for beaches like Canggu and Echo, with strong surf. The nearby Seminyak resort area has high-end shops and restaurants. Just south of Seminyak, the beachside town of Kuta is known for its nightlife. North of Canggu, Tanah Lot is a Hindu temple that sits just offshore on a rocky outcrop.
Kintamani is a village on the western edge of the larger caldera wall of the Mount Batur caldera in Bali, Indonesia. It is on the same north–south road as Penelokan and has been used as a stopping place to view the Mount Batur region.
Padangbai is a small coastal town in eastern Bali, Indonesia near Candidasa. It serves as a ferry port for travel to Lembar on Lombok, The Gilis and other of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Many tourists visit Padangbai.
The Bukit Peninsula is at the southern end of the island of Bali, Indonesia. It is traditionally considered to be the entire area south of Jimbaran beach. I heard the Bali Ferry to Lombok was horrible and didn't choose the most popular expensive option. Was it worth it?
Good morning from Padang Bai guys, I am in Bali. Mow this is a place I said I was never going to come and look at me This is why you should never say never. So I'm going to be exploring this island for the next three to four weeks but today we're actually in Padang Bai because we're heading to Lombok.
I'm at Kayuna Homestay and I love it here. So I met Eny the owner and she has been fantastic because one of the things they talk about here when you're going to Lombok or Gili Islands is that the fast boat the speedboat it's a horrible experience. But as soon as I came here she said you know what you don't need to go on the expensive most popular one. I actually recommend a different one. It's cheaper it's just as big you'll have a great time so we're going to take a risk and go with her.
We bought tickets from her and it's 450 return which is actually less than I think one way with Eka jaya and it's an open ticket, so I'm not really sure when I want to come back from Lombok so we can stay as long as we want and then just the day before we just send her a note to activate that ticket.
So this is a 90 minute ferry and that's because the first two stops are two different Gili Islands and then we get to Bangsol which is on the Lombok island from there, we actually need to take a car, So she's been so good at helping us to understand what the fair prices are. The other thing is we got on a little bit late so we're sitting in the back not at the very end. Apparently this boat is the old Ekajaya boat and they got a new one they just rewrapped it.
So 25 people can go up top and people are freaking out trying to get up top.
Everyone chose the back seats knowing that it would be the first 25 up we are just going to sit down below that is not worth it
I think we're close to the first island, but it's pretty pretty rough. People are starting to look a little bit sick. It's not great. It's not terrible I mean there are waves so there's not a lot you can do to avoid that.
So I was actually really surprised after we hit the first Gili Island it was very quick to get to the next two. And then all of a sudden, Alan told me Oh, it's time for us to get off.
Eny also arranged a taxi from Bangsal to take us to our next hostel. And that'll be 150. And actually, when we got here, and he started talking to the others they also said it was 150 so that seems to be like that is kind of the going price.
While Eny did negotiate taxi for us from 150 when we got here, they said it was 200. Thankfully Alan is talking to her and also talking to them about how it was agreed to at 150. And also there's a guy outside who said he would do it for 150. So I'm all about paying a fair price. I'm happy to pay I don't need to negotiate really low, but it needs to be fair. And it seems that 150 is the fair price. Not 200.
All right so we finally made it into the car, Eny handled everything for us and cleared up a misunderstanding that it should be 150. So that was great. The interesting thing about it is you know as I said, I don't mind paying a fair price but also for Alan he's local. And so, you know he also wants to be to pay a fair price but also not be cheated at the last minute.

In this Vlog we will travel to a small yet extremely beautiful Island of Lombok from Bali! To travel from Bali to Lombok Island, you have a few transportation options. Here are the most common ways to make the journey:
Flight: The fastest and most convenient way to reach Lombok from Bali is by taking a domestic flight. There are several airlines that operate daily flights between the two islands, and the flight duration is approximately 30 minutes. Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali offers numerous flights to Lombok International Airport.
Speedboat: Another popular option is to take a speedboat or fast boat from Bali to Lombok. The departure point is usually at Padang Bai Harbor in East Bali, and the boats arrive at one of the ports in Lombok, such as Bangsal or Teluk Nare. The journey by speedboat takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the weather and sea conditions.
Public Ferry: If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, you can take a public ferry from Bali to Lombok. The ferry departs from Padang Bai Harbor and arrives at Lembar Harbor in Lombok.
