Top 10 SWISS Villages - Most beautiful towns of SWITZERLAND [Full Travel Guide]

Switzerland is a rather small country but has plenty of beautiful villages. Many of them have maintained their traditional appearance, which has attracted numerous tourists from all over the world. The diversity of the Swiss villages has fascinated many visitors, whichever region you visit, the villages all look unique and different. Some people say that you only will get to feel the authentic villages, when you choose to visit one or more of the many traditional villages. But which ones are worth to visit? With this video, I proudly present you my TOP 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES OF SWITZERLAND for the year 2023 in detail. I am sure that you may be familiar with a few of these 10 villages, but the majority on this list will most likely be new to you! This is likely the most detailed travel guide video about Swiss villages here on YouTube! Wonderful Marthalen lays in northern Switzerland in Zürich’s wine land region. The village charms with its many wood frame houses and alleys. Marthalen is best to be visited during Spring and Summer, when the entire landscape shines in green. Nearby attractions would be the village of Rheinau with its monastery and the Rhine falls, Europe’s tallest river waterfall. Gandria in Ticino is a beautiful hanging fishing village just at the boarder to Italy. Gandria is best to be visited by boat from Lugano, Morcote or Porlezza. The village has numerous stairs and alleys and feels like a maze, quite exciting! Poschiavo is located in the Italian-speaking part of the canton of Graubünden. The village is rather large and the most alive among all of these villages on this Top 10 list. The village also has a very interesting history one can learn about in the three local museums. Lessoc is a rather secret village located in Fribourg. It’s less noticed due to the more famous nearby towns of Gruyères and Château d’Oex. Lessoc is great for those visitors who want to avoid crowds. Sonogno is the uppermost village in the very touristy Valle Verzasca. It’s very popular among Swiss and German visitors but remains rather unknown to the rest of the world. The village charms with its traditional stone houses and alleys. Albinen is the hidden gem of this list. It’s very similar to Grimentz but the core is larger and there are more details to discover. The village is very raw, alone this fact is a strong reason for anyone to come here. Albinen is best to be combined with nearby Leukerbad, the Swiss oasis of wellness. Morcote remains a favorite for anyone who loves alluring villages. It’s similar to Gandria but busier. Consider climbing the hill to enjoy a great vista down to the church. Lungern is probably the most popular village on this Top 10 villages list. Lungern has been admired for its green hills and turquoise lake, definitely a wonderful alpine oasis to visit. Iseltwald, the winner of Last years’ Top 10 villages list does not seize to amaze its visitors. The village is full of these wonderful wooden houses that well blend with the lake and the green hills. Iseltwald is great to be included into a holiday at Interlaken. The winner of this year’s Top 10 Swiss Villages is Bosco Gurin! This place remains very raw despite its incredible beauty! Bosco Gurin is the perfect serene village one would seek to find. Enjoy walking around in the many alleys, spotting the traditional stone and wooden houses and enjoy the alpine environment. 10 Things NOT To Do in Samoa

Get more Tips here!

The Samoan islands are surrounded by miles of pristine beaches, crystal blue ocean, and dazzling reef. But keep in mind that Samoa is a conservative country, and you should do your research ahead of time. Here’s our list of 10 things you should NOT in Samoa.

1. Don’t Stay Standing
When it’s time to get down to business, you’ll notice that Samoans all sit down on the floor to engage in discussion. It’s also considered rude to eat or drink while you’re standing.

2. Don’t Indulge in Kava
It’s customary to take part in the kava ceremony. This narcotic brew is made with the roots of a pepper plant, and the cup of liquid is passed around for everyone to sip and enjoy. Overindulging in the drink can decrease your reaction times and motor coordination.

3. Don’t forget to brush up on the Culture
Samoan Cultural Village and Knowledgeable guides will take you around through different exhibits where you’ll be given a fun history lesson. You’ll also be taught coconut weaving, watch an entertaining dance performance, and be treated to a traditional meal cooked over an earth oven.

4. Don’t Underestimate a Beach Fale
A fale is a hut on the beaches. You can actually rent one and wake up to the waves crashing right at your feet. These handmade structures range from simple to luxurious, but to get a true experience, you’ll definitely want to stay in the old school version made of wood and dried coconut fiber.

5. Don’t Leave the Water Without Your Lava Lava
After soaking up some sun on the beach, make sure to cover up with a lava lava afterward. It’s similar to a sarong, and it basically covers up your body so that you don’t offend the locals. And keep in mind, the lava lava is worn by both men and women.

6. Don’t Forget to Pay Taefu T Matafeo Store a Visit
Between Salelologa and the north coast, you’ll find a tiny establishment called Taefu T Matafeo Store. Inside, you can sip on some of the best espressos ever, while nibbling on homemade cakes. They also serve up light fare, including kimchi, and they have more than enough icy beer to go around.

7. Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls…Just Joking
Samoa’s backdrop is rich with gorgeous tropical forests that are home to some of the most stunning waterfalls. On Upolu Island, you will find Sopoaga Waterfall at the foot of Lotofaga Village. At the base of the falls, you can also take part in an umu demonstration and coconut husking.

8. Don’t Be Surprised by Beach Fees
In Samoa, the majority of the beaches are owned by families and villages, and they charge visitors a small fee (from 5 to 20 tala) to swim, take photos on the beach, or even wander around the sand. If you’re staying at a resort, you won’t have to worry about this fee at all.

9. Don’t Visit the National Museum on Weekends
This museum should definitely be at the top of your itinerary, but make sure you stop by during the week, because they’re closed on weekends. You can send a special request to ask that they open their doors for you on a Saturday or Sunday, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll honor it.

10. Don’t Enter During Prayer
Prayer sessions can happen frequently, and if you find that you’ve arrived at someone’s home during a prayer, wait outside until it is finished. If you’re inside their home at the time the prayer’s set to take place, you’ll be expected to take part in the service as well.

Top 10 WATERFALLS of Switzerland ???????? [Full Travel Guide]

I proudly present you the Top 10 most beautiful waterfalls of Switzerland: As a landlocked country, there may be no dreamy beaches in Switzerland, but with Alps, this country hosts some of the most beautiful landscapes. Switzerland is often considered the reservoir of Europe, as there are many glaciers from which the rivers originate. Each of them gets fed with water from the many creeks present in the Swiss Alps. The water sometimes has to quite find its way to reach the next larger river, it needs to pass gorges, forests or drops from the rocks down into the valleys. Where can you find the many waterfalls of Switzerland? There are countless of them, plenty in the wonderful Bernese Oberland (Berner Oberland), around lake Brienz, in the many valleys, such as in the Simmental and of course in the Lauterbrunnen valley. In only that valley, there are 72 waterfalls! Among these 72 waterfalls you may find the Staubbach Falls of Lauterbrunnen, which are considered an Instagram wonder of Switzerland. They are one of the most photographed subjects. But there are 71 more waterfalls in the Lauterbrunnen valley to explore: Mürrenbachfalls, Mattenbachfalls, Trümmelbachfalls and many more! Fascinating! Other wonderful waterfalls are scattered all around Switzerland, central Switzerland, canton Uri, Ticino and northern Switzerland, where the world famous Rheinfall (Rhinefalls) are located. So many waterfalls… but among all these hundreds of waterfalls in Switzerland… which ones make it into the Top 10 most beautiful waterfalls of Switzerland? Watch this video and get to know the pretties cascades of Switzerland!

Do you agree with this Top 10 Waterfalls of Switzerland list? Have you discovered any other waterfall that might be worth ranking high too?
