Video about the Leça do Balio Monastery, donated to the Order of Malta in the early 12th century and completely rebuilt in the 14th century. It became the first Portuguese headquarters of this order, commonly known as Knights Hospitaller, standing in an important crossing point in the Camino de Santiago.
Several important figures in Portugal's history were here, such as king Afonso I or Nuno Álvares Pereira. The marriage between the king Ferdinand I and Leonor Teles took place in this church. This monastery is classified as a National Monument since 1910.

ENG/ Ecovia of the River Leça under construction more than 70% ready a good bet of the council of Matosinhos to walk and ride a bike.
I started the path in the Moreira Pattern entering the park next to Etar da Maia.
It ends at the Pedra Bridge, passing the Bridge of Ronfos, below the Via Norte, back of The Lionesa and also at the back of the Monastery of Leça do Balio, passes the Bridge and park of the Sticks and ends at the Stone Bridge. It's about five miles long.

Mosteiro Santa Cruz | Coimbra | Portugal

LAMEGO cidade Histórica do DOURO VINHATEIRO ???? - Portugal

Batalha Monastery - UNESCO World Heritage Site - English Version - 4K Ultra-HD

Video about the Monastery of Saint Mary of the Victory, better known as Batalha Monastery, located in that village of the Leiria district. Its construction is intimately linked with the victory of the Portuguese forces over the Castilian army in the Battle of Aljubarrota, in 1385. Fulfilling a promise, king D. João I sponsored the building of this imposing Dominican monastery, initiating a process that would span almost two centuries.
Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in 1983, the Batalha Monastery is one of the most important Gothic architecture monuments on a world scale, standing as a true compendium of the best architectural and artistic work produced in Portugal at the time.
