Wandering around the most beautiful market square - fairytale Bad Urach, Germany
This wasn´t meant to happen, but I am so glad it did. I was very tired that day, so we thought we´d quickly visit the Blautopf in Blaubeuren to let the dogs have a walk on our way home from the Black Forest. But when you fall asleep, things can all change while you´re dreaming...
And it was like a dream to wake up in Bad Urach, Swabia. So, in spite of an injured foot, I filmed as much as I could and I hope you´ll forgive me for not showing you more of this wonderful, fairytale town and surrounding area.

Only just in Germany - Flensburg
I just couldn´t stop filming the beautiful buildings in Flensburg and I had to go and visit the place where it all began, and find out about the legend of the Knight Fleno and the origins of Flensburg.
Such stunning buildings and in a magical position on the Flensburger Fjord! Flensburg is a very special place, the most northern city in Germany. Btw, we do tend to say town and city intermittently in English, I had to look up the difference. And Flensburg is officially a city, so please excuse that I occasionally say town!

A magical afternoon wander in Goch, Germany.
I wasn´t expecting to see this, when I went for a walk through Goch, a town we know existed in 1259. It´s right on the border to Holland. The artist, Vincent van Goch, probably had relatives form this town. There are so many more beautiful historical buildings in Goch, but I only had time to film these. I´ll just have to come back. The people were so very friendly here, and I´ve only scratched the surface of what´s to be discovered in Goch.

Walking in OLDENBURG / Germany ????????- Around the City Center - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Oldenburg is a town in northwest Germany. The old center of Oldenburg has many restaurants and cafes on pedestrian streets that we will visit on this walk.
We start our tour at the Hafenpromenade along the harbor of Oldenburg east of the city center. We are quickly getting to the inner city and the Ritterstraße to visit the Rathausmarkt with the St. Lamberti Church of Oldenburg.
Our tour continues to the Oldenburger Schloss that we circle around. On our way we also see the Berliner Bären statue. Then it's time to make a little detour outside of the city center.
Returning back to the inner city through Schlossplatz we now see more of the center and often head out and back into the many pedestrian streets. We even see the Lappan, a historic bell tower in the north of the city and stroll around the many alleys. There are more paths to explore.

You will be amazed to know that the Black Forest cake is named after this region. The Black Forest is a mountainous region in southwest Germany, bordering France. Known for its dense, evergreen forests and picturesque villages. It's renowned for its spas and the cuckoo clocks produced in the region since the 1700s. The mountain range is known for its lushness, lakes, rivers, gorgeous valleys, and wildlife and has some of the best hiking trails and water sports in the summer. It is hauntingly beautiful, majestic, and home to centuries of German history. Covering an area of about 2,320 miles, there are endless things to discover at this destination. Overall, this forest is one of the most popular hiking and tourist places in Europe.

How long?
Some people only take a day trip to the forest to get a quick feel for the area, but I would recommend spending at least 2 days in the Black Forest and even then you can expect your days to be packed and might not get to experience all of the attractions.
I absolutely recommend having a car. It's not that the trains aren't good in the area, but there are a lot of really great gems that just aren't as easily accessible in the area.
Blackforest cake: Black forest cake, which originated in the Black Forest region of Germany, is typically made with a light chocolate sponge cake, soaked with cherry syrup and cherry brandy (Kirsch), then layered with whipped cream and cherries.
Triberg: Germany's highest waterfalls in Triberg are a unique memorable attraction
It takes around 50minutes to hike the Triberg waterfalls.
Opened : The Waterfalls are open daily
You should always buy a cuckoo clock manufactured in the Black Forest region of Germany. The Black Forest has been the industry standard for cuckoo clock manufacturing since the 18th century

Magical island -why do Germans love it so much?
I had two days somewhere officially magical recently. And I want to show you, too.
The island the natives call Töwerland which means magical land:
Juist
You can walk with me to the beach. Juist is only a third of a mile wide. So it won´t take long.
This beach is as long as the island itself -ten and a half miles of beautiful pale sand. In fact the foundation of the island is sand, too. Then I realised I was going to be able to film something utterly gorgeous for you. The sunset and the most recognisable construction on Juist.
And for those who miss them, I recorded the church bells on Sunday morning.
