The town of Bellagio is also called the 'Pearl of Lario' and is located on the narrow peninsula at the tip of the Lariano Triangle (Tridente Lariano), which divides the two southern sea arms to Como and Lecco.
Founded by the Romans, 'Bilacus' was a fishing village for centuries. The Latin name of Lake Como is Lario, as the locals still call it today.
The medieval town center with its stepped streets, arcades and arcades has flair, but the main passages are very touristy. Bellagio is the best known and most popular tourist resort on the lake, undisputedly its scenic and artistic highlight. In the 19th century, numerous magnificent villas, palaces and parks were built here for the summer resorts of the European high nobility; to visit the villas Serbelloni and Melzi, and their gardens. From the Villa Giulia, you can see the villa from the street and you can also see part of the gardens, but you cannot enter as the villa is privately owned. Bellagio called the Pearl of Lake Como, it is elegant tourist resort with lovely views, classy boutiques, a choice of restaurants and bars and frequent boat services it is a really one of Italy's top holiday destinations.
Bellagio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located on Lake Como, also known by its Latin-derived name Lario, whose arms form an inverted Y. The triangular land mass at the base of the inverted Y is the Larian Triangle: at its northern point sits Bellagio, looking across to the northern arm of the lake and, behind it, the Alps. It has always been famous for its location. It belongs to a mountain community named Comunità montana del Triangolo lariano (Larian Triangle mountain community), based in Canzo.
Bellagio is situated upon the cape of the land mass that divides Lake Como in two. The city centre occupies the tip of the promontory, while other districts are scattered along the lake shores and up the slopes of the hills. The great Pleistocene glaciations with their imposing flows coming from the Valtellina and Valchiavenna modelled the actual landscape of Lake Como: at least four times the glaciers went as far as Brianza to the south. From the ancient glacial blanket only the highest tops emerged, one of them Mount St. Primo, which obliged the glaciers to divide into two arms.
Nowadays, a luxuriance of trees and flowers is favoured by a mild and sweet climate. The average daytime temperature during winter is rarely below 6 to 7 °C (43 to 45 °F), while during summer it is around 25 to 28 °C (77 to 82 °F), mitigated during the afternoon by the characteristic breva, the gentle breeze of Lake Como.

Anders ausgedrückt – das bildhübsche Städtchen ist Hauptanziehungspunkt am Comer See, bietet es doch genau das, was sich alle unter dem Begriff ‚Perfekte Schönheit’ vorstellen. Vor allem die traumhafte Lage am Ende des Monte San Primo-Ausläufers zwischen Como und Lecco (triangolo lariano) ist es, die beeindruckt. Traumhaft: die Seepromenade von Bellagio
Auf jeden Fall – Neben der herrlichen Uferpromenade, den gemütlichen Cafés und den verwinkelten Gassen der Altstadt sind auch der Fischereihafen, die romanische Pfarrkirche St. Jakob (Basilica San Giacomo) und die Villen Serbelloni und Melzi bemerkenswert. Letztere prunken mit bewundernswerten Parkanlagen voller stattlicher Zypressen und viel gerühmter Azaleen, Rosen, Kamelien und Rhododendren. Die Gärten, die zu den schönsten Italiens zählen, lassen das Herz eines jeden Liebhabers der Hortikultur höher schlagen.

Die Ortschaft Bellagio wird auch die 'Perle des Lario' genannt und liegt auf der schmalen Halbinsel an der Spitze des Lariano-Dreiecks (Tridente Lariano), das die beiden südlichen Seearme nach Como und Lecco teilt.
Das von den Römern gegründete 'Bilacus' war jahrhundertelang Fischerort. Der lateinische Name des Comer Sees ist Lario, so wie es die Einheimischen noch heute nennen.
Der mittelalterliche Ortskern mit seinen Treppengassen, Lauben und Bogengängen hat Flair, die Hauptpassagen sind allerdings sehr touristisch. Bellagio ist der bekannteste und beliebteste Fremdenverkehrsort am See, unbestritten dessen landschaftlicher und kunsthistorischer Höhepunkt. Im 19. Jahrhundert entstanden hier zahlreiche Prachtvillen, Paläste und Parks zur Sommerfrische des europäischen Hochadels; zu besichtigen die Villen Serbelloni und Melzi, bzw. deren Gärten. Von der Villa Giulia, sieht man zwar von der Stasse her die Villa und man hat auch Einsicht auf einen Teil der Gärten, aber man kann nicht eintreten, da die Villa in Privatbesitz ist. Linienschiffe zu allen wichtigen Orten am See, Autofähre nach Varenna und Menaggio.
Geografische Lage
Die Fläche der Gemeinde 26 km².Bellagio -die Perle des Larios, einer schönsten und ältesten Orte am Comer See mit hervorragendem Panoramablick auf den See. Es ist Teil des Goldenen Dreieck zusammen mit Menaggio und Varenna.
Geschichte
Bellagio, auch genannt die Perle des Comer Sees war bereits berühmt, in der Römerzeit. Seine Magie und strategische Lage hat seine Geschichte geschrieben. Mit der Besetzung Lombard wurde Bellagio weiter verstärkt. Im Jahre 744 der König Liutprand in Bellagio. Bellagio war bereits 1100 eine freie Gemeinde.

25 marzo 2022 - Triangolo Lariano - Anello del monte Nuvolone
Triangolo Lariano
Escursione in senso antiorario: Brogno, belvedere del Nuvolone, bocchetta del Nuvolone, località Roccolo, Gravedona, Brogno.
Dal borgo di Brogno ( 600 mt) , nel comune di Bellagio, si sale direttamente al “belvedere” del monte Nuvolone ( mt. 1.010) in circa 1 ora e 20 minuti, salendo con molta calma nel bosco. Gli ultimi metri prima di arrivare al belvedere sono molto ripidi, per cui bisogna prestare attenzione. Dal “ belvedere” poi il sentiero prosegue nel giro ad anello con saliscendi e poi in leggera discesa fino al rientro a Brogno. Un solo punto verso la bocchetta presenta una ripida discesa su roccette dove verso la metà c’è una corda tesa tra due alberi per aiutarsi.

Il lago di Como detto anche Lario, è un lago italiano naturale prealpino di origine fluvioglaciale ricadente nei territori appartenenti alle province di Como e di Lecco, i cui capoluoghi sorgono nelle due estremità meridionali dei rispettivi rami, composto da tre differenti comparti, popolarmente definiti rami: il bacino di Como e quello di Lecco, pressoché simmetrici, e il bacino di Colico più ampio situato a nord.
Posto a circa 50 km a nord di Milano, è il lago più profondo d'Italia, quello con maggiore estensione perimetrale e il terzo per superficie e volume: la portata del fiume Adda all'uscita del lago si aggira intorno ai 130 metri cubi al secondo, i quali derivano in gran parte dall'alto Adda (87 metri cubi al secondo) e dal Mera (23 metri cubi al secondo), mentre i rimanenti 20 derivano da corsi d'acqua minori. Le cave di marmo presenti nei dintorni del lago sono state essenziali per quanto riguarda la tradizione lombarda di scultori, scalpellini e architetti.
Rifugio popolare per ricchi e aristocratici fin dall'epoca romana, resta tuttora una delle mete turistiche privilegiate, tanto da essere stato annoverato nel 2014 come il lago più bello del mondo dal quotidiano online The Huffington Post, per il suo microclima e per il suo ambiente costellato da ville e villaggi di prestigio. Oltre a esser stato reso celebre da Alessandro Manzoni che sulla sponda lecchese ambientò il romanzo I promessi sposi, annovera un'imbarcazione a remi tipica che nel tempo è diventata simbolo stesso del lago: il batell, noto più informalmente come lucia in ricordo della fuga da Lecco di Lucia Mondella.
Bellagio è un comune italiano di 3 628 abitanti della provincia di Como in Lombardia. Il comune appartiene alla Comunità montana del Triangolo Lariano (con capoluogo Canzo) ed il suo territorio rappresenta uno dei vertici ideali del Triangolo Lariano.
Rinomato luogo di villeggiatura, è famoso per la sua pittoresca posizione proprio sulla ramificazione del Lago di Como nei suoi bracci meridionali, con le Alpi visibili oltre il lago a nord.
L'imprenditore Steve Wynn si innamorò del Lago di Como trascorrendo le vacanze tra Bellagio e Lierna assieme alla moglie Elain, e costruì un resort americano nella città di Las Vegas, aperto nel 1998, ispirato al Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni.
Il territorio di Bellagio è molto vasto ed oltre alla zona costiera comprende aree collinari e montane. Il punto più alto è Monte San Primo, che si sviluppa sino a un'altezza di 1.682 m s.l.m..
Il torrente Perlo è il principale corso d'acqua del territorio di Bellagio e nasce alle pendici del Monte San Primo ed attraversa in tutta la sua lunghezza la Valle del Perlo, sfociando nel lago presso la frazione di Guggiate.
