Good morning guys in this beautiful day! ????
Today I will take you to Almada, at first we will check out the city and then of course - main place in this municipality - Sanctuary of Christ The King ????
The Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument overlooking the city of Lisbon.
It was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, after the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon visited that monument. The project was made on 17 May 1959. The giant statue was placed to express gratitude because the Portuguese were spared the direct destructive effects of World War II.
The monument consists of a pedestal which is 82 metres (269 ft) in height, formed by four arches and a flat platform, supporting the 28 metres (92 ft) statue of Christ. Its base was designed by architect António Lino in the form of a gate, while the statue of Christ the King was designed by sculptor Francisco Franco de Sousa. The four arches of the pedestal are oriented in the directions of the compass rose. The statue of Christ forms a cross, with its arms extended out facing the city of Lisbon, as if to embrace the city.
At the base of the statue is the observation deck, at 82 metres (269 ft), which lets people watch panoramic views of the city of Lisbon, the Tagus River and Ponte 25 de Abril.
And little bit about Almada:
So Almada is a Portuguese city located in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area . It has an urban area of 13.98 km 2 and 88,202 inhabitants in 2021, with a population density of 6,309 inhabitants per km2 , so pretty densely populated.
It is also municipality which has an area of 70.21 km 2 and 177,268 inhabitants , divided into five parishes . The municipality borders to the east by the Seixal , to the south by Sesimbra , to the west by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north by the Tagus River. And Almada is in Setúbal district.
Together with Lisbon , Sintra and Palmela , it is one of the oldest administrative divisions in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
If we talk about real estate in Almada then price average for m2 is 2600€, I put my standart filters 2-3 bedrooms, 1-2 bathrooms and good condition.

Almada city history:
Almada is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. The two cities are connected by the 25 de Abril Bridge. The population in 2011 was 174,030, in an area of 70.21 km2. The urbanized center had a population of 101,500 in 2001.
History of Almada:
Human presence in the area of Almada dates to the end of the Neolithic period about 5000 years ago; archeological excavations performed in the municipality suggest that non-sedentary nomadic tribes may have occupied this location sporadically. The gradual development of settlement here made its greatest advance with the coming of Islamic civilization when Muslims constructed a fort at Almada to defend and monitor the entrance to the Tagus River. Lying across the river from Lisbon, the area of Almada was a crossroads for a succession of various peoples who traded along the Tagus, including Phoenicians, Romans, and Moors.
As one of the principal Arab military bases along the southern margin of the Tagus, Almada was conquered by the Christian forces of Afonso I with the aid of the English Crusaders in 1147. Alongside these Christians there lived many free Moors and Jews, under the royal protection guaranteed them by Afonso I in the charter of 1170 (which applied to all the former Moorish strongholds at Lisbon, Almada, Palmela, and Alcácer).
History of statue:
The construction of the Christ the King monument was approved in a Portuguese Episcopate conference, held in Fátima on 20 April 1940, as a plea to God to release Portugal from entering World War II and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the act of consecration of the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.[4] However, the idea had originated earlier on a visit of the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro in 1934, soon after the inauguration of the statue of Christ the Redeemer in 1931

Lisbon is an incredible city and I wanted to learn as much about it as I could, so on the second day of my trip I took a walking tour of the down town area - familiarising myself with the city centre and learning about the capital's history and culture.
We took a walk around the neighbourhoods of Bairro Alto, Chiado and Baixa before ending the tour in Praça do Comércio - a spectacular plaza made up of stone arches, bright yellow neoclassical style buildings and a magnificent waterfront.

Located on the 3rd floor of a refurbished historical building, Almada Baixa is a one-bedroom apartment in the Baixa Pombalina area of Lisbon, in Chiado district. It features free WiFi access.
This unit includes hardwood floors and a double room. The bathroom comes with a shower and a hairdryer.
The living room includes a double sofa bed, a dining area and opens to the kitchenette. This includes a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, stove and oven. The central location of the apartment means guests are within walking distance of many dining options.
Baixa/Chiado Metro Station is 500 feet away, allowing guests to easily explore the city. Bairro Alto is 1,650 feet away from Almada Baixa apartment, and Rossio Square, with train, bus and metro links, is 650 feet away.
