Landshut is a city by the River Isar in Bavaria, southern Germany. It’s well known for the Trausnitz Castle, with its views across the old town.
We stayed in Landshut by accident as we booked accommodation in Munich in the wrong month - the accommodation that was left was either super pricey or pretty crappy. So we booked ourselves into Landshut, which is only a 50 min train ride away from Munich.
What to do in Landshut:
1. Walk down Altstadt
2. Walk down Neustadt
3. Enjoy a late afternoon stroll by the river
4. Walk to Trausnitz Castle and check out the beautiful views over the old town.
5. Visit St Martin's Church

Landshut, Germany - the colourful houses of Landshut, the architecture of Landshut in Germany. Let's travel to the town of Landshut in Germany and let's admire the traditional colorful gothic houses in the Old Town of Landshut, historical town in Bavaria (close to Munich), Germany. Landshut is a town in Bavaria in the south-east of Germany. Landshut is situated in the centre of Lower Bavaria, and is part of the Alpine foothills. The River Isar runs through the city centre. Landshut is about 72 kilometres (45 mi) northeast of Munich.
Landshut was founded in 1204, when the duke of Bavaria built a fortress there, and was chartered in 1279. It remained a ducal seat until 1503 and was the site of the university of the Bavarian state from 1802 to 1826. An important rail junction, Landshut received more than 12,000 refugees after World War II, stimulating new industries such as electrotechnics and machinery. Other industries include brewing, milling, chocolate making, printing, and the manufacture of textiles and clothing, wood and paper products, and glass goods.
The city retains its medieval character. It is dominated by the ducal castle of Trausnitz (13th–16th century) and by the Gothic church of St. Martin (1389–1450), with one of the world’s highest brick steeples (436 feet [133 metres]). Other landmarks include the Renaissance ducal palace (1536–43); the Cistercian nunnery of Seligenthal (founded 1232), with a Rococo church; and the former Dominican monastery, which was the seat of the university. There are other medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings, as well as many colorful gothic houses.

We will go to The Church of St. Martin in Landshut which is a medieval church in the German city located in the state of Bavaria. The Church of St. Martin in Landshut is a Brick Gothic landmark and it is the tallest church in Bavaria, and the tallest brick building as well as church in the world. It is also the 2nd tallest brick structure in the world (after Anaconda Smelter Stack), made without steel supports. St. Martin's church has a height of 130.6 metres (428 ft).
Landshut is a city straddling the River Isar in Bavaria, southern Germany. It’s known for the medieval Trausnitz Castle, with its views across the old town. Within the castle is the Chamber of Art and Curiosities, displaying artifacts collected by the Wittelsbach dukes. In the old town, Gothic St. Martin’s Church has a tall brick tower. Close to the Isar is the Ländtor, a gate from the town’s medieval fortifications.

Now, all of these shots were taken in Landau in der Pfalz, which is a small city in the southern part of Germany.
Most of the video is mainly of the Church in the middle of the city.
This city was first a settlement discovered in the 1100’s. During the middle ages it was occupied by the French and then granted to Bavaria in the 1800’s.
Traveling always reminds me that normal is boring, and life is well.
Take it one step at a time and remember what your goals are and plan.

Landau Stadt - Germany
Landau or Landau in der Pfalz (pop. 41,821) is an autonomous (kreisfrei) city surrounded by the Südliche Weinstraße (Southern Wine Route) district of southern Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is a university town (since 1990), a long-standing cultural centre, and a market and shopping town, surrounded by vineyards and wine-growing villages of the Palatinate wine region. Landau lies east of the Palatinate forest, Europe's largest contiguous forest, direct on the German Wine Route.

Der Thomas-Nast-Nikolausmarkt in der Wein- und Gartenstadt Landau in der Pfalz findet 2016 bereits zum 34. Mal statt. Seinen Namen verdankt dieser Weihnachtsmarkt dem in Landau geborenen Karikaturisten Thomas Nast. Schon als Kind wanderte er mit seiner Mutter nach Amerika aus und wurde dort nicht zuletzt wegen seiner Santa Claus Zeichnungen berühmt.
Ein Etagenkarussell das die Jahre überlebt hat.Um 18Uhr gab es dann noch aus dem Beiwagen die spezielle Musik dazu.

Isar-Radweg - Trailer zur DVD
Der Isar-Radweg beginnt im Quellgebiet des Hauptflusses der Bayern und endet an der Donau bei Deggendorf. Bis dahin erlebt der Radler auf rund 330 km eine vielfältige Landschaft und bayerische Gastlichkeit. Besonders beeindruckend ist der Oberlauf vom Isarursprung im Karwendelgebirge bis Scharnitz/Österreich, wo Bahnfahrer ihre Tour beginnen können. Über Lenggries führt die Tour gen München, weiter über Freising und Landshut bis Deggendorf an der Donau. Ausführlicher Radreisebericht auf radtouren.net. Dort kann auch die DVD bestellt werden.
