Volvimos a Managua en Nicaragua, desde El Salvador, para poder viajar a conocer Bluefields y las Islas del Maíz en la costa Caribeña.
Con Nicaragua ya son 120 países que he visitado y la verdad es que me ha encantado así que sin duda volvería a viajar Bluefields, ‘or supuesto para desde ahí tomar el barco y hacer el viaje a las Islas del Maíz (Corn Islands)
Continuamos en el 2021 de viaje, y ahora haciendo turismo en Nicaragua! Y si el 2021 aun sigue siendo difícil viajar????♂️
Lastimosamente Managua es una ciudad inundada de propaganda del partido guerrillero comunista que de una manera u otra ha decidido la vida de los Nicas, durante prácticamente los últimos 40 años el (FSLN) El Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional.
Este partido ha dejado a su paso bastante pobreza en toda Nicaragua.

El viajero con un punto de vista occidental, viajando a las Islas del Maiz (Corn Islands) le dará la impresión de que hay mucha pobreza, pero a menudo que pasan los días, si vas conociendo a la gente, hablando con ellas, vas viendo que no es la pobreza que habías percibido el primer día. La amabilidad de las personas es espectacular, he perdido cosas y me las han encontrado, cosas de valor: cámaras, teléfonos, incluso dinero... (…)
Grabo los viajes que voy haciendo pero con la idea de algún día poder ayudar a las personas, y a los niños. (…)
…Cuando pensamos en una persona rica, siempre lo decimos basándonos en lo las propiedades materiales, y parece que nunca le demos importancia al resto de cosas. (..)
Las Corn Isand conforman un archipiélago de aguas transparentes, playas casi vírgenes y abundantes palmeras... En las islas del maíz en Corn Island, en ambas islas vas a encontrar hoteles, hostales sin problemas, ahora bien no esperes tampoco encontrar grandes hoteles.
En Big Corn Island, yo me quedé en el hotel La Princesa de la Isla, qué si bien no tiene un gran internet, si está muy bien ubicado y tiene una playa privada.
Las dos islas son lugares perfectos para bucear y apreciar sensacionales arrecifes y buceando en estas islas raro va a ser que no veas rayas, tiburones, peces de múltiples colores tortugas, así que ya sabes que si te gusta el buceo, mi consejo es que los visites además los precios de buceo son sensiblemente más económicos que en otras zonas de América. Buceos (Diving) desde 70 dolares
Esta isla mucho turismo no tiene... y eso también es uno de los encantos de la isla!
Evidentemente poder ir a un sitio que aún mantenga, un cierto grado de autenticidad, en este caso la autenticidad se la dan (…)
La gente originaria de acá, la población de Corn Island, está compuesta por nativos o creoles, mestizos miskitos y extranjeros.
Nicaragua, es un país que realmente es económico, es muy económico (si viajar aquí es muy barato )y esto también siempre se agradece, si quieres realizar un viaje sin mucho presupuesto es una estupenda opción.
Bueno la isla en si es una maravilla, estoy pensando quedarme un mes o incluso dos meses….
Más para allá, está la isla pequeña del maíz, la verdad es que merece la pena visitarla... Lo único que me desagrada es que la gente tiene poco cuidado, tiran las cosas al suelo, en lugar de tirarlas en las papeleras.
¿Por qué esta lleno de plástico por todos lados?

Here is another short Teaser/Trailer style video. This time of Pearl Cays, Nicaragua.
These hidden gems are group of 18 cays located about 35 KM (22 Mi) from Pearl Lagoon. You can take a 30 minutes Panga (speed boat) ride from Pearl Lagoon to get to them.
Some of them have access to fresh water, most of them have luscious coconut / palm trees and other vegetations, but all of them have crystal clear water that showers their white sandy beaches.
The Pearl Cays are an important nesting site for turtles, including the critically endangered Hawksbill turtle.
If you haven’t visited this place, make sure to add it to your bucket list, as it's a must-see destination in your travels through the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.

Nicaragua is a country in Central America. It has coastlines on both the Caribbean Sea, in the east, and the North Pacific Ocean, in the west, and has Costa Rica to the southeast and Honduras to the northwest. Nicaragua contains the largest freshwater body in Central America, Lago de Nicaragua (Lake Nicaragua) or Cocibolca. The capital city of Nicaragua is Managua.
Hot climate in the lowlands, cooler in highlands, with occasional rainbow features. The weather during the dry months (November-April) can be very hot in the Pacific lowlands. Torrential downpours in the rainy season (May-October) can leave you soaked and chilly.
Tourists can visit varied areas across the country: the majestic colonial cities of Granada and Leon, the island of Ometepe and the Mombacho volcano for hiking and nature exploration , the mountainous coffee farm region of Jinotega and Matagalpa, the dazzling surf beaches of the Pacific Coast, and in the the isolated and mostly undiscovered Caribbean coast and the Corn Islands (Big Corn Island and Little Corn Island) which lie close offshore. The Rio San Juan area...the largest rain forest north of the Amazon...... is a rapidly expanding eco tourist destination, Its biodiversity is a magnet for nature loving tourists. Reserva Silvestre Privada Montecristo at Boca de Sabalos is an important bird area and a wildlife refuge along with the Indio-Maiz national reserve. Additionally Rio San Juan is a great place for sport fishing with world class and record breaking Tarpon fishing. Estelí is home to two popular nature reserves, Miraflor and Tisey, as well as being the center for Cigar production. Somoto is worth a visit for the adventurous who wish to swim, inner tube, cliff jump and hike the canyon.

Here travel is mostly done by boat and the rich mixture of Nicaraguan, Caribbean, Miskito Indian and Garifuna cultures makes this region seem like another country.

Visit cigar factories in Esteli or see how coffee is grown in the shade forests surrounding Jinotega and Matagalpa, in a region filled with remnants of the revolution.
Northern Pacific Coast
At the collision point between two tectonic plates, this region has some of the highest volcanic activity on Earth and is also home to two national icons: Flor de Caña rum and poet Rubén Darío.
Rio San Juan Region
New undiscovered eco tourist destination, Boca de Sabalos a few private natural reserve offer sport fishing, canoeing, kayak, horseback riding, hiking, birding, wildlife photo safaris. Easy border crossing to Costa Rica. An almost forgotten part of the country with its hidden treasures like the car free Solentiname Islands or El Castillo.
Southern Pacific Coast
A narrow stretch of land bordered by the Pacific Ocean and Lago Nicaragua. Surf remote spots along the coast, party in San Juan del Sur or ride a motorbike around iconic Isla de Ometepe.

Nicaragua: Laguna De Apoyo swimming in a volcano
Swimming, dogs fishing, monkeys, and front flips is how we would describe this video. This is technically our second day of the trip and our first full day in Nicaragua. We woke up to all of Laguna De Apoyos beauty. Videos and pictures do not do this lake justice. The lake and surrounding mountains are a beautiful sight, and the water is amazing to swim in. Laguna De Apoyo was a little off the beaten path, but is worth the trip. Even though Laguna De Apoyo is relatively remote there is plenty to see and do close by. The paradiso hostel we stayed at offers a great beach with amazing swimming, kayaking, tubing, and much more. You will most likely catch a glimpse of monkeys in the area too.
