La Rinconada,Peru, the highest (Gold mine)city in the world

10 Most ISOLATED Places You Can TRAVEL TO!

Have you ever wanted to get away from it all? To just pack your bags and go somewhere nobody has even heard of? Well luckily for you Destination Tips has got you, with some places so remote you may have trouble getting back!

1. ITTOQQORTOORMIIT
No, it’s not a typo, this place really exists. Situated on a remote part of Greenland’s coastline, this tiny village has very colorful houses and a population of just 350 people. Travel by boat is only possible in summer when temperatures only just rise above freezing whilst in winter when temperatures drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, helicopters are the only way out!

2. Cape York, Australia
It seems odd that Australia should have isolated areas but actually, most of the country is a barren wilderness. Cape York is mostly untouched rain forests and savannas and has a tropical and monsoonal climate so an offroad is essential for transport but can only be used in the dry season.

3. La Rinconada, Peru.
Located on the top of a mountain at around 17,000ft above sea level, La Rinconada is always cold, with summer temperatures barely getting above freezing. The gold mine attracted people to the area and with a population of 30,000, it is the highest permanent settlement in the world.

4. Longyearbyen, Norway
Also known as Longyear town it gets its name from John Munro Longyear who started coal mining operations here in 1906. In summer off-road cars can be used but in winter, snowmobiles are needed, so much so that Longyearbyen actually has more snowmobiles the residents.

5. Kerguelen islands
These remote islands are located in the Antarctic and are subject to high winds and rough seas all year round, it’s no surprise then that they are also known as the desolation islands too. It has no airports and the only way to leave is via boat with the nearest permanently populated location being Madagascar, 2,100 MILES AWAY!

6. Pitcairn Island
Situated in the south pacific sea almost equidistant between Peru and New Zealand this volcanic island is home for around 50 people. The only way to get there is by ship and then by longboat because it only has one shallow harbor and the remaining shoreline is jagged rocks.

7. Bouvet Island
Hailed the most remote island in the world, it is at least 1000 miles away from any other island. The only place to land on the island was created by a rock slide in the 1950's and is now home to a weather station. Considering that 93%of the island is covered by glacier it’s no wonder it’s uninhabited.

8. Oymyakon, Russia
Oymyakon is one of the world’s coldest permanently inhabited settlements. The lowest temperature recorded there was -89.9 degrees Fahrenheit whilst the highest was 94 degrees Fahrenheit making it one of the five places on earth to have a 180-degree temperature range.

9. Devon Island
With an area of 21,331 square miles, it’s the largest uninhabited island on the earth and is home to the Haughton impact crater which measures 14 miles in diameter and was created by a meteorite about a mile in diameter. Its Mars-like surface has attracted scientists as well as NASA’s Haughton-Mars project.

10. Tritan Da Cunha
The most remote inhabited archipelago in the world, Tristan is only accessible by boat, which from Cape Town South Africa, takes 6 days. So if you’re thinking of spending a couple of weeks visiting don’t forget to allow for 12 days' travel time!

Najgorsze miejsce do życia

Motorcycle Diaries - A journey to the Highest Village in the World

Together with my friend Doove we embarked on a trip to South America in the search of a Motorcycle Adventure.

We flew to Peru with the plan to drive from the desert in the Pacific Ocean to La Rinconada (the highest village in the world at 5,100m above sea level).

Our journey started off in Arequipa then through the Panamerican Highway towards the desert of Nazca and Ica. We then climbed up the Andes and towards the ancient city of Machu Picchu. After that we headed east, towards the high altitude plains of the remote north-eastern Peru where eventually we made it to the dodgy gold mine that is La Rinconada, and sneaked into Bolivia for a beer. The end of our trip lead us to Puno and the highest lake in the world and eventually we made our way through the volcanic landscapes back to Arequipa.

Most Remote Places To Live In The World You NEVER KNEW About!

Most Remote Places To Live In The World You NEVER KNEW About!

Welcome back to Around The Globe, today on the channel we are going to discuss the Top Most Remote Places To Live. Here some of the world’s most remote towns where people still live. Tristan da Cunha sits in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. 1,750 miles from Cape Town, Edinburgh of the Seven Seas, the only settlement on the island, is home to less than 300 permanent residents. All the residents have access to modern-day amenities including a hospital that offers dental treatment and minor operations, as well as a grocery shop and post office, where the island produces its very own stamps. Utqiagvik, Alaska, USA feels completely cut off from the world. With no roads connecting it to other settlements, the dirt roads that do exist lead just a few miles outside the main town.

La Rinconada, Peru At a height of over 16,000 feet, La Rinconada in Peru is the highest human habitation in the world. The city itself is iced over for most days of the year and at such a height the air is so thin that the residents have had to adapt. They've also had to find ways of entertaining themselves which include meeting in cafés and setting up a local football team. To know more Remote Places to live please continue watching this video.

5 Most Isolated Communities At The End Of The Earth

Here are the 5 Most Isolated Communities At The End Of The Earth where you can visit to explore the remotest communities on our planet.
If you're looking to avoid touristy spots for your next vacation, you might want to try visiting one of the most isolated places on Earth — some of which can only be accessed by boat or plane.
The volcanic island of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic boasts a population of 258 people with only nine different last names.

The locals speak English, but have also invented their own dialect with words derived from Scottish, English, St Helenian, South African, American, Dutch, Italian, and Irish, reflective of their various places of origin.
There are no roads that lead to Barrow — the town is only accessible by plane, but the hour and a half flight from Anchorage is doable. Sitting at the very top of Alaska, their winter consists of 65 straight days of darkness.

Because of its remote location, the cost of living is high. A jar of peanut butter can cost $10. And, according to one resident, there are thousands more caribou than people.
In Supai, Arizona, the mail is delivered by mule. A remote village in the southwestern branch of the Grand Canyon, the village is only accessible by helicopter, horseback, or an eight-mile hike.

Supai is the tribal center of the Havasupai Tribe, which means People of the Green Blue Waters, a reference to four waterfalls along Havasu Creek that are popular with tourists.
La Rinconada sits three miles in the air in Peru's mountainous Puno province, making it the highest city in the world.

The town has no running water or sewage system, and nearly 68% of the population lives below the poverty line, according to CNN.

Getting there isn't easy. La Rinconada is a six-hour ride from the nearest city on unpaved roads with no regular buses. Your best bet is to hitch a ride.

A number of these remote locations feature gorgeous tropical climates, while others require braving Arctic temperatures or relentless deserts. The adventure is yours to choose.
