The Palace of Culture of Metallurgists was built in 1957. This is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city of Chelyabinsk. It represents the neoclassical style of architecture of the 1950s of the twentieth century. The building has a theater hall (650 seats), a small hall (200), a banquet hall (100), a dance hall (350 seats), a conference hall (28 seats), more than 30 rooms for amateur groups.

???? Hi friends! Today we will take a walk through the small city park Scarlet Field, which is located in the Central district of the city of Chelyabinsk. The square is called Scarlet Field in memory of the events of 1905. Then a demonstration of Chelyabinsk workers took place at this place, which was brutally suppressed by the authorities. The monument Orlyonok is dedicated to the young heroes of the Revolution and the Civil War of 1918-21. The author depicted the young man in the things of an adult: a papakha with a ribbon, a bashlyk, a greatcoat to the feet, large boots. Heavy military clothing creates a contrast with the young body and childish face, helping to convey to the viewer the heroic and romantic features of that era. The face of the Eaglet looks masculine and internally tense, but at the same time retains the features of a boyish character.

The monument was opened on July 15, 1925. Author N. M. Chekasin, engineer P. I. Iskakov, sculptor V. V. Kozlov. The monument is shaped like an Oriental mausoleum. It is a complex two-story architectural structure. On either side of the main entrance, there are arched niches under the staircases. Two side stairs lead to the second floor. In the center there is a bronze bust of V. I. Lenin. Obelisks are built on the sides. The monument is built of gray granite. On the main facade there is a white marble plaque with the text: The monument to V. I. Lenin was built in 1925 at the expense of the workers of the city of Chelyabinsk. This mausoleum is sometimes used as a podium at various events.

The memorial was opened on September 14, 1986. It was created in memory of 12 young wrestlers of the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars of 1941-45. This is a complex of monuments, which are twelve cast-iron bas-reliefs mounted on pedestals. The plinths are white, cube – shaped. The bas-reliefs are cast-iron covered with bronze, each depicting one of the twelve pioneer heroes.

2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the end of nuclear weapons testing in Semipalatinsk, the primary testing venue for the Soviet Union's nuclear weapons, the 10th anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia, and the ratification by Kazakhstan as the 26th country to ratify the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. This year also marks the first showing of the Russian-language version of the exhibition ‘Everything You Treasure – For a World Free from Nuclear Weapons’, from October 2-13 in Nur-Sultan city, the capital of Kazakhstan.
On Oct 1 at the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy, Soka Gakkai International (SGI) held the opening ceremony of the exhibition together with ICAN and Elbassy and its delegation from Japan led by Mr. Hirotsugu Terasaki visited Semey, Kurchatov and the former Nuclear Test Site of Semipalatinsk (Polygon) between Oct 3-4, 2019. This is a video documentary film made by Katsuiro Asagiri, multimedia Director of IDN/INPS who accompanied the SGI delegation to East Kazakhstan.

???? Today we will take a short morning walk through the Central district of the city of Chelyabinsk. We will start our walk in the Square of Science. Here is a monument to Academician Kurchatov. Igor Kurchatov is the creator of the first atomic bomb in the USSR. The famous scientist created the world's first atomic project, which led to the development of a whole branch of industry-nuclear energy. The monument is called Split Atom and was installed in 1986.
The author of the monument is the sculptor Vardkes Avakian. The monument is very symbolic, embodies the power of science and the superiority of the human mind over the power of atomic energy. The monument is a composition that includes three main elements. The first of them is Kurchatov himself, the monument rises on a pedestal. The other two are positioned on either side of the central figure. They are two pylons, symmetrically placed behind the figure of Kurchatov. They depict the halves of a split atom in the form of huge hemispheres. Such a compositional solution perpetuates the main achievement of the great man who found a way to split the atom. The height to which the pylons rise is 27 meters. And the main figure (I. V. Kurchatov) with a pedestal has a height of 11 meters.
Since 2014, the monument has been an object of cultural heritage of Russia.
Behind the monument is a beautiful park area where you can walk between the trees, feed squirrels and birds, as well as ride a bicycle or roller skates on specially equipped paths.
Young people like to gather in the square in front of the monument. They ride roller skates and skateboards.
???? Then on the walk we will see the track and field complex named after Elena Yelesina. It is named after the 2000 Olympic champion in high jump Elena Yelesina. She was born in Chelyabinsk. Now lives in Australia. The complex was built in 2003. The track and field complex has eight hundred-meter treadmills, a sector for jumping. Up to eighty athletes can train here at the same time. The stadium's spectator stands can accommodate up to 4,000 people. In 2012, the track and field complex received an IAAF certificate, which allows it to hold international competitions of any level.
???? Then we will pass by the university campus. There are dormitories for students and places for recreation. In the evenings, young people and lovers like to spend time on benches and swings.
???? Then we will come to a large building of the University. South Ural State University is one of the largest educational institutions in Russia and the largest in the Chelyabinsk region. It was founded on November 2, 1943. Today, the university includes 31 faculties and 145 departments in Chelyabinsk, 13 branches in other cities. Currently, the university has 28,000 students and employs almost 5,000 teachers and staff. It is the main center of the educational and scientific life of Chelyabinsk and the region.
???? On the square in front of the main building of the university there is a Monument to the Student (sculptor Vardkes Avakian). The sculpture was installed in 1994. The sculpture depicts a standing student with a jacket casually draped over his shoulders. The students have a great respect for this sculpture and believe that if you rub the student, the exam will be successful.

Guys, I'm sorry for not uploading new videos for Russian learners. I don't have enough time for that working from 9 am to 9 pm. But now my spring vacation is starting so I'll have a week for making something new. Also you can learn something from my teaching page
