About Kozikode :
Being a part of the most beautiful state in India, Kozhikode has been ranked the second best city in India to reside in. Erstwhile Malabar District of British India became a part of the newly formed Kerala on November 1 1956 and a new revenue district named Kozhikode was formed on January 1, 1957. Kozhikode is known to the world as the Center of Malabar, the land of spices and festivals. It attracts traders from all over the globe with its magnificent spices and other commodities. Kozhikode attained a position of pre-eminence in the trade of pepper and other spices since 13th century which made it an ‘Indian Emporium’ of International trade. Mananchira is a man-made freshwater pond situated in the centre of the city of Kozhikode in Kerala, southern India. The pond is 3.49 acres in area, is rectangular in shape and is fed by a natural spring.
The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary lies in the Kozhikode districts of the state of Kerala in India. It spreads over a cluster of islands where the Kadalundipuzha River flows into the Arabian Sea. The Sanctuary hill is around 200 m above sea level.
Beypore or Beypur is an ancient port town and a locality town in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. The place was formerly known as Vaypura / Vadaparappanad. Tippu Sultan, ruler of Mysore, named the town Sultan Pattanam.
The Kadalur Point Lighthouse is situated in Kadalur, near Koyilandy in Kozhikode district on the coast of Arabian sea in India. The circular stone masonry tower has a height of 34 meters. The tower is painted with black and white bands. The lighthouse started its operation in 1907.
Kakkayam is a dam site located at Koorachundu in Kozhikode, Kerala. Kakkayam is on the outskirts of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO world heritage site, and Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary, a 7,421-hectare abode of wild animals including elephants and bisons.
Tali Shiva Temple or Tali Mahakshetram is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Lord Shiva, situated in the heart of the Kozhikode city, Kerala. The temple was built in the 14th Century by Zamorin of Calicut.
The Kerala Institute for Research Training and Development Studies of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is a museum located in Chevarambalam near Chevayoor in Kozhikode.
